Bernice is still so cute. Met her on Virtual of Harmony - TVB long running comedy. She was cast as a princess who enjoys life with the more commoners, but didn't quite get their ways of doing things. Bernice saids what's on her mind, being not offensive. Hong Kong though, was, and had been very opened, is nevertheless a very homogeneous society, in a small limited geography/area. Finding an outlet is ... takes much effort. Competitive --- you can only work extremely hard, and not piss off any "wrong" people, and please everybody. Jealousy --- Feeling jealous, or being object of jealousy - you cannot avoid IT. IT follows you everywhere, and you have to look, or be looked at. When you find a secluded corner in hiding, IT will make you hear IT. Poor etiquette in a/under forced competition breeds "jealousy" very easily. So ...when she (Bernice) was young, she fell for the oldie TVB dramas. (Watching pirate video tapes in Vancouver 🤭 ... me also in NYC) She didn't know/understand why she suddenly starts crying while watching. So ...a peripheral reason, or perhaps the incentive, for competing in the Chinese beauty pageant was to be closer to her roots, and to learn more of the Chinese language. Then she found a job at TVB ...I think she won the pageant. Therefore she was at TVB cast as a princess in a universal comedy favorite. Her acting began.
Florence - the host described her as a once troubling tough youth. She on earlier Super Trio shows is timid, cries easily. But her roles on TVB series are often cast tough 😠, not so sweet 😤, even very unpleasant 🤐🤬. She described the bitter poison coming from some jealous mouth of some women (about another woman.) I think some men also does that, but they are less creative in articulation usually. Men (usually less mature, or more egotistical) usually do this when rejected, not so much when they are jealous.
