    I remember watching Mama’s vlogs where Leah would eat, with at least a spoon, independently! I was really amazed at how independent she was at that age. It was very adorable. I believe Mama adores watching Leah too, because I can hear her laugh/giggles of adoration behind the camera! ☺️

    So impressed with Leah. I remember when she was eating a biscotti and JB wanted a bite.JB bit on the bottom instead of where Leah was eating. Leah was so upset. Mama was trying to explain to Leah but she wasn't having it. Judy and you are doing a great job. My parents were heavily involved with raising my three boys. It takes a village to raise a child(ren). They're the best. I'm excited to see Mickey Bustos' vlog with you folks there. Enjoy... I know you all will need another vacation when you return. Safe travels.

    my lola (grandma in tagalog) actually used to have an arroz caldo business before that helped her raise my mom and her siblings and she taught us how to cook it as well. she said to achieve that kind of texture i think its important to continuously stir the dish while making it. i hope you enjoy your stay here!!!

    hey benji! growing up my mom would make arroz caldo and i learned that she would cook it until the rice was “broken” just as you described where the rice grains open up. this is super common but i personally like it less soupy and more rice forward like how you and judy make it! both are delicious though :) enjoy the philippines! much love 🤍

    • @thatbiss
      @thatbiss 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      nope, that’s just how it’s mostly cooked, some people stop at that point when the rice is cooked like you how you would using a rice cooker, but mostly we cook it up to that point where the rice has split up - also that happens when you leave it at the pot as the residual heat continues to cook the rice, that’s why you have to put a little bit more water because it will always thicken up the more you heat it up
