I've made sourdough and given myself food poisoning, I've had pizza dough do different things every time I've used the same recipe, and I'm widely known as someone who cannot cook to save their lives. I made a simple puff pastry once just to try it, and it was the best thing I've ever made. A dozen puff-pastry biscuits and I ate them all in under two hours. Some with just more butter, some with strawberry jam, I even dipped one in salsa just to try it. They were so good, I cannot let myself make them again. :D
I'm always delighted to see a new video...they never disappoint! 🤩 (And I often find myself re-watching them for the jokes and anything I might have missed the first time -- so many little gems!)
I love your videos so much. The droll humor, the education, the presence of clear references... When I finished watching the first of your videos I came across, I was so shocked to find that you had so few views and less than 1k subscribers. I hope you make it big. You really deserve to.
this was a surprisingly informative video on the history with great editing and presentation! didn't expect such a detailed explanation on a topic such as puff pastry, thanks for the video!
Really enjoyed this Ben! Superb insight and history. These are timeless classics and love the cultural background to this wonderful creation. I found this engaging from start to end and love your deadpan humour. Keep up the great work. HHH
Nothing .. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING makes me chuckle more than the idea that France's quintessential food (the Puff pastry) actually came from Muslim Spain by way of England!! 😆😆 .. I could not have picked 2 origin points that would Piss off the French more, and that makes me SO happy.

The leftover dough we made here was use to make puffy mini pizzas, works like a charm.
It blows my mind how well produced these are. The presentation is magnificent
The secret ingredient is "not sleeping".

Thank you! Always. delighted to see a nice comment.
This was very cute. I love your sense of humor! Also, quite informative. You did an impressive amount of research.
The literature research is fine but my doctor worries about the practical side of "making leftovers go away".
Ah, yet another great video from you. Thank you so much! I look forward to all your releases.
Thank you! New one coming soon!
Omg, it can't be a coincidense, because today I was thinking about puff pastry (about legendary samsas in central asia), no joke😮 thank you sir!
I see my thought collecting technology is working as intended. *evil laugh*
O human I'm so glad you're back. I really missed your humour and lessons. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! Tell the algorithm 😉
Yay! Great video as usual
As usual, great video, very educational and fluently presented. I'm looking forward to the next one.
Just commenting to try to help. Not sure if it will but you're doing a great job. Thanks
Even if it doesn't help the algorithm, it helps me. Thank you!
Don't forget to make that "croissants are Austrian" video. Love this channel!
Will come... one day. A lot of trial and error needs to happen first. There is another one coming very closely on this one's heels though!
I feel like the Early Modern vs Medieval statement might be more anger inducing than claiming puff pastry is English
I've learned to be more flexible on my definition of eras when people kept calling Shakespeare medieval.
Another wonderful video. I'm finally making edible bread. I hope to tackle puff pastry and phyllo eventually
Best of luck! I believe in you!
I love your videos. Thx for doing this, filming it and sharing it with us.
Anytime! 😊
Yay! Looking forward to this
incredible video as always!

See Mr. Algorithm, it's not just me.

Epic
yessss my favourite human!
Seconded!😄
Making me blush now.
"We said it was interesting, not healthy." I feel seen
I am *checks notes* a serial hobbyist that has made puff pastry before.
*Peaks at you sheet of dough*

Thank you! This video came about because a tangent from a different video got too big. That video goes online later today 😊.
Wauw! Interessante weetjes, humoristisch en zulk een aangename stem 👏👍🏻
Wonderful video! Very informative. I thought this was a 20k+ subs channel, you definetly deserve more subscribers!
All these comments help us along the way. Thank you!

Fantastic comment, I love this viewer ❤️
+1 for the Blackadder reference! 😀
I wonder if he also had a cunning plan.
Comment for algorithms ❤
The "clove of love" lol
It's warming on the inside.
Yeah, MORE butter.😁
That's always the right answer.

It did probably come to England via France or the Spanish Netherlands but those are details 😉.

🥮 (you'll get this one soon)
Viennoiserie? It’s in the name isn’t it?
The name is a clue but it's actually a very interesting story (imho). I am hoping to make it into a video once I master making croissants.
The human was not abused enough. Life is suffering.
New ones are coming, he's not safe!
