The fact that they made you root for Walter and then you realize that after defeating Gus, the only great threat is Walter, He went from a harmless and innocent teacher to slowly losing his kind heart and molding it into a cold and manipulative socipath
Hearing Hank say Walter bombed a nursing home really cleared my head from the walter dick riding i was doing, i just realized "oh shit he didn't just kill gus, so many people could've died"
A man can only take so much, bro but jesse😢
You were rooting for him after he let Jane die?
@@VitaminDealerNah but still better than Gus
o
The thing that’s craziest to me about Zuko’s journey, is how quickly his hair grew in less then a year.
Strawberry mint growth oil fr
@@isaiah9104 LMAOOO
Nah, what was crazy was how they let him have that cut in s1😭
@@2triedforthis830i think that was the banished haircut lmao
the development of his hair was the greatest development of all time lol
RIP Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball 🥀. Vegeta was a goated character, he knew how to write great characters. His legacy will be forever remembered.
fr
fact
I'll be honest, I'm not sure if Vegeta really deserved his character change. Like, after Namik, he was still evil, just holding off on it. And somehow through fighting, he became a good person? He's still a great character no doubt. But he ain't no Zuko. 😊
@@NoHandle44did u watch the show? I understand but his development makes sense see his pride and ego whenever he gets stronger and gets shattered, he only starts caring after trunks almost gets killed,he actually realises he has a family to protect, and gokus sacrifices and gohans ssj2 makes him question his saiyan nature, the last arc he misses his power and gets it back and we see his will power to fight golu and his ever consuming ego, he fights off the evil and gives his attonement of sacrifice, not the best but u see exactly how he changes
@@MaymunEjaz I mean, yeah he does change. But it also kinda seems like he has his self reflection when there's a bigger problem at the moment. Like a, "Well I'm evil, but this jelly bean is gonna destroy my family that I just remembered I had. Better kamikaze myself". And him getting humbled by Goku would've been a good start to his growth, if he didn't constantly relapse like every other arc.
I want to like his atonement, but it's kinda difficult with how flawed it is.
the zuko arc is extremely abbreviated here you really have to watch it to see it
zuko arc was inspirational
best character development imo
Naw, it's pretty accurate.
Vegetas neck development is even better bro went from pencil neck to bull neck
Them’s his traps from all that gravity and hyperbolic chamber training.
Speaking of Walter having the audacity to cry, Bryan Cranston did a good job there with the crying because he saw Kristen Ritter (actress of Jane) look dead and in that moment, Bryan saw the face of his own daughter in that exact same dead position.
It haunted him so much to the point where he needed a powerful reminder from Anna Gun (actress of Skyler) that none of it was real.
Terrible for Byran there. But I'll admit, VERY GOOD ACTING.
™️
Jessica Jones will take her revenge on Walter.
😢😢😢
Holy shi-
BrBa actors got it rough during productions man! Like i remember seeing a post talking about how skyler can't have social media cause of the internet and her acting to whine walt left the house, and I'd get that in some AMAZING shows, but TWICE!? In ONE show!? Holy- this makes me love brba more, brba also had the part where the baby was calling for it's mom and bryan went along with it, like yooo making brba seems like you not only need phenomenal acting skills but need to have a therapist on stand by 😂
While Ice King aka Simon didn’t have much of an arc in the original show, I will attest that the IK has one of the most shocking reveals off all time. He went from a wacky, kidnapping ice wizard, to the most sad character in the entire show.
100% agrred on this ice king left my heart broken
He was already a bit pitfull but after that i cried for him
Fr bro went through it
Walter’s personality was so abrupt that you have to believe that it was ALWAYS there. Had he stayed at Gray Matter, he would have become a ruthless ceo. The money, power, and recognition would have been too much to keep his ego in check.
Stanley Pines, Simon Petrokov, Magneto, Rigby, Hawkgirl, and of course Zuko were the characters from my childhood cartoons who had some of the best changes.
Simon went from a comedic relief to a depressed old man who lost his fiance from her turning into God. 💀💀
@@Supremecy_gamen Yeah hellova rollercoaster that guy went on
I honestly wouldn't say Super ruined Vegeta's character, It is a topic that comes up every time Super and Vegeta are mentioned. People usually say Super retconned Vegeta because he went back on his Buu Saga development. But the developments aren't the same. In the Buu Saga, Vegeta puts down his life long grudge of revenge against Goku, he's not orienting his entire life around beating Goku anymore. In Super, yes, he still wants to beat Goku, but it's as a regular martial artist and a prince and wanting to be the best he can be, he just didn't lose interest in fighting and retire like half the cast. But you can see the difference when he skips out on training to with his family, like when Bulma was going to give birth.
Glad someone understands that. I've seen too many people say Super ruined Vegeta when the "You're number one" speech didn't mean I don't want to surpass you anymore
Yea i literally hate super but even a blind man can see super went there rite direction with Vegeta an his character development now goku whole nother topic
Debatable. The whole point of Vegeta Buu Saga was being able to overcome his ego. And in Super he literally need to go back to super over inflated ego to power up.
@@CaptainPangolin True, but he couldn't fully go through with it he said it himself he couldn't be the man he used to be anymore before Granolah was going to unleash that attack at Vegeta
@@jsemicolona Well, even before that with his Ultra Blue Super Sayan (I don't know the name. The bullshit power up he got from wanking himself "I'm dah fucking sayan prince !")
Bro I love Zuko and Vegeta. Respect
Vegeta on Namek was peak vegeta for me
Black and white armour vegeta 🔛🔝
Buu saga Vegeta 🗿 👑🗿👑🗿
Ngl I think Arthur Morgan had huge character development
No one is insulting Uncle Iroh that he is the best character ever written
Fr
I think what makes these arcs so great is how the writers are very honest about the characters' situations.
We are shown every step to their change in painstaking detail. Ugly parts and all.
Which is what makes the conclusion to their arcs so satisfying.
I think 1 thing needs to be understood, character progression =/= character development. Static characters can have great character development
Ex. The joker or batman, they're fairly static characters, but the development is from the exploration of how they would respond in different situations.
Development = exploring how characters respond to different things, and gaining further insight on their thoughs, ideas, purpose, objectives etc
progression = how a character changes through time
It just so happens to be the case that in many cases development co-incides with progression (as shown here)
You said well. Vegeta has a minimum of character development, but a lot of janky character progression.
And that is why the vegeta character is shallow and wide.
Walter has both in detail, well done.
Just ridiculous this guy put vegeta over Guts into the list.
Which one is more important or impactful?
@@foreignfat6009it's probably because Vegeta is more Popular
@@dentangaji6161 depends on the character. Again with the joker from Batman for example, it’s development. With someone like zuko from avatar, his progression was fascinating (his development was great too)
Honestly Zuko and Vegeta imo have the best character development in fiction so it's a W to see them both in one video
Doofenshmirtz should be on here he had the greatest charecter development
Derek is a man of culture
My boi got his own Character Development on Reaching to 100K
Super Vegeta? I'm asleep. GT Vegeta? Now that's how you do my boy.
Yes. GT vegeta is peak even if don’t like the show. Vegeta chill af and care about surpassing Goku. A lot of lines also brought to tears too.
wdym super was peak too, go see top arc and black goku arc
his lines in that are pure godly and in recent chapters man is feeling guilty for his previous actions and thats a huge leap , he is actually chill these days too like after winning against goku he doesn't go on full sicko mode or anything just make fun with goku 🚶♂️🤷♂️
W 100k absolutely inspirational, i’m proud of u bro love u
If we’re talking about Vegatas character development let’s not forget the man’s complete growth in GT. The man loves humans now and calls Kakarot Goku.. he’s also laughing and doing father daughter bonding and hoursing around with goten and trunks.
I love your works hopefully for my art skills will get better just like your personality
bro i cant say why but i love these vids. keep it up G. here for every single vid
Thorfinn has by far the best character development. Goes from an innocent little boy to a stone cold mass murderer who can compete with the strongest killers then he becomes a slave and then becomes a peaceful man who wants people to stop fighting
I mean, he followed his dad's footsteps. He was a cold killer, but realized that, killing without reason, is wrong. That anime taught me a lot.
Sick!! Was waiting for this!!🍺
Zuko truly is the best.
You know your day boutta be fire when Derek uploads
was with ya when u had 18k! Ur making good progress for a reason)!
lowkey this vid got me wantin to watch avatar again good work ma boy
Dude your humor and editing is on point! Great vid
Seeing as i subscribed yesterday.... i feel like i may have been 100k... which us wild, your vids are top quality and i love them!
Yeah Walt is evil in S4. But jumping over S5 altogether is craaaazy.
keep going bro love ur vids, the guts clip at the end made this vid perfect :)
Congrats ON 100K!!! wow your so underrated, just stumbled on your page, you was at like 1 subscriber! crazy to see the growth
thanks dude
@@DerekFDB wire me $10k
Waited to long for this
You forgot that not just the whole "Jane wasn't good for Jesse", but she quite literally threatened to END Walt, also putting his whole family into the pit...
DerekFDB: His (Walter's) transformation was night and day!
Or day *THEN* night. Because Vegeta was night, then day.
*Anakin skywalkers left the chat*
Loved the berserk insert there at the end. Great top 3 though
Grats on 100k, time for me to rewatch avatar
Ayy man just found your channel and already binged all the vids
Amazing content dude
Finn, the Human is one of the best characters I've ever met, I loved to see that kid grow, make mistakes, learn from them, mature and become a true Hero, I felt proud of him
dude your videos are TOO good, it amazes me
congrats on 100k man, lovely
Those are very well done, character development characters
I also use to tough Zuko was the character with the best character development in perhaps all media... but then I watched and read Vinland Saga and met Thorfin.
and i discovered Beserk
Thorfinn a W tho
god bless u bro happy new year 2024 is gonna be a great year for u
the fact that in 5 more months he reached 200k is crazy, love DerekFDB , keep making fire vids
NEW POSTTT LETS GOO
"I watched Jane die. I could've saved her, but I didn't." That has to be the *coldest* line in television history.
Congrats on the 104k Derek‼️ 😎👍🏾
Yessir new post!!!!
This video made me want to rewatch each of these shows
would love to see another video just like this in the future with kevin from ben 10 and maybe lloyd from ninjago
John Lockes arc was wild in LOST
Season 5 Walter is SO much worse than 2,3 and 4 😭
Very cool video! If there's a part 2, pls add thorfinn from Vinland Saga or batman from The Batman
Amazing Video, you never miss
Reverse Character Arcs can also be really great, because it makes you look at characters in different perspectives, like Pink Diamond from Steven Universe.
Awesome content!
Yeah when it comes to Vegeta we don’t talk about Super…
Though we gotta give Saul an honorable mention at least, while he’s not quite in the same tier of character development as Walter he’s up there.
the character writing in breaking bad is honestly so impressive , almost the entire cast is excellently written
Maybe the change from Jimmy to Saul is not so contrast as Walter to Heisenberg. But i'd say that Jimmy's character development and progression is more natural than Walter's.
We TALK about Super, he got development
Super Vegeta ain’t that bad. GT Vegeta is good. Know GT gets hate but I’m you Vegeta scene are the best.
@@Rodrigo_B_Viana what development?
you should make recaps you're hella good at them ngl
What makes Zuko's character development feel more human and real was that "relapse" when he chose to side with Azula. When you're recovering you aren't throwing off all bad things at once. There were still traces of that old Zuko because the change was gradual.
Great vid bro.😺
3:56 Damn this made me laugh HARD. Subscribed.
Love you bro
Congrats on 100K ganger
He is w man’s he is at 100k congrats 🎉🎉🎉🎉😢the best TH-camr
Yea walter white had crazy development but my guy Heisenberg stayed true to to hisself 😤
The beach always been one of my favorites too
Imagine not catching up on Breaking Bad in 2023...Walt and Hank die. Jesse snitches
Thumbnail speaking facts
I feel like majin Vegeta was able to resist not because he became good but the urge for a Saiyan to fight stronger opponent out weighed his hate for Goku.
5:04 no he believed the girl was too good for Jesse he was gonna run away with her iirc
@@87wxdiazHe believed she was bad for him, and she was, they were gonna die as junkies in another country
These characters are so fucking amazing man
You need to remake this video cos season 5 makes walt's ego in the maximum height
The thumbnail goes hard as $h1t 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You haven't seen Season 5 yet?! Dear god that season has the single best episode of television in it! You're in for a ride man
Nahh when walter killed jane that was the moment i truly started rooting for him bro so cold w it
100k❤
DerekFDB
Well Deserved.
You gotta do a part 2 with ThornFinn from Vinland saga
“Leaves From the Vine” That scene hurt me as someone who has a lost loved one
Vegeta is my favorite character in DB. Happy to see at least some people like him too.
FINALLY A NEW VIDEO
You know what, you should do a review on book 1 to 3 of avatar
Gt vegeta continued with that great development
Awesome vid
Great choices
I once heard someone say that Walter White's character development wasn't about him changing. It was about him realizing who he truly was.
bro dis guys meme selection is top tier
Damn better be preparing a new script for season 5 Walter...
8:14 Truer words have never been said 😂
This was a wonderful video! Both insightful and funny!
Couldnt agree more with this list
Good vid

This is where I need to disagree with you. The character can be established, static, but explored throughout the story without any change to him. LOTR as an example - Frodo at the beginning is the same Frodo at the end, we just see him overcome great odds, but as a character he doesn't change. We explore more of him, see him in the different situations, but, in general, he stays the same. A bit more understanding of the world around him and experienced, but it is no 180 degree turn, like characters in the video.
It is possible to have a great static character that becomes the reason for others to change, or a static character that the audience exlpores and finds depth in. Indiana Jones, Jordan Belfort, Bronson, Forrest Gump, Marty McFly, John Wick etc. Do we know more of them at the end? Yes. Can we say that they have changed their character at the end? Not really, they just went through an adventure, but stayed true to themselves.
Best channel ever

In my opinion, Piccolo had the best character development of Dragonball.
Same, but not a lot of people has seen og dragon ball, so they don’t know his origins, they just see the start and end of his character arc
Possibly a top 5 character in Dragon Ball
Agreed. Most fans watched DBZ and DB so they don’t much about Piccolo
