The veto rule is good as each team have 1 veto.
I would like to suggest adding additional vetoes but only after a game is played. For example
1 veto each before game 1
After game 1, they each get 1 veto for game 2 which they can use or hold
After game 2, they each get 1 veto for game 3 which they can use as there are no more games after game 3.
Because if one team gets really unlucky after game 1, that means 2 and 3 can be heavily one sided. But at least with a veto each again after game 1, there’s a chance.

Additional suggestion:
Allowing the team to ban 1 hero from the teams entire roster. If there are 2+ of the same hero, they can only select the player who cant play that hero (forcing that player to play less favorable options)
