you r what i call a ethical hunter, you do whatever you can to make the best ethical, quickest way for an animal to go down. i respect your honesty and hope you found that bull or the bull got to live to see another day.
Thanks JoSE, Like I tell my kids, if you're not failing, you're not trying. It's how we learn and making mistakes makes us better. Hopefully my mistake can help you not make the same one when you have a chance to shoot your bow at a beautiful animal like this.
Josh D unfortunately we were not able to find him. With so little arrow penetration he didn’t bleed much so we were just following tracks as long as we could then canvassed the area when tracks were lost.
@@paulfamilyadventures439 bugger that's always a shame when that happens at least you tried your best to find him do you know why you missed by that much like did something happen with your bow or like the first one I shot at buck fever got me I'm just luck the arrow sailed strate over its back
From watching the footage really slowly it appears that in both shots the elk had moved at least a foot or 2 before the arrow got to him. It looks like both shots may have been good if the elk did not hear the bow shooting the arrow. Either way, these things can happen to anyone bowhunting. Thanks for sharing!

That gut shot got him. Come back in the morning and retrieve what the coyotes haven't eaten.
While it's never good to wound and lose an animal I respect your honesty about it. It can happen.
man i feel for that hunter, i would feel like shit knowing i injured a animal like that

@@joshd2013 Id imagine he took way to far of a shot. They didnt look to surprised, or bummed

Sorry, that is just a crime. Your #1 responsibility as a hunter is a clean, quick kill. What happened there is just the opposite.
