Personally I would downgrade your 3x 1DX bodies to 1DMK IV's and downgade the 400 2.8 to a 300 f4 if need be. Switch over to your existing 300 2.8 as your main long lens and use the 300 f4 for remote work. The MK IV isnt a 1DX but it's still pretty damn awesome and 300mm with a 1.3 crop is very close to an effective 400mm so it would be a fairly painless transition... That would raise more than what you need and you would still have fairly no compromise gear to fill the same roles as before plus money for some insurance.
At this point selling your gear is the best option. It will just be a temporary setback and it will save your credit and help with your living situation. Take it as a lesson learned and correct the mistake. You have a lot of gear that photographers want but can't afford because they have personal priorities such as paying health insurance as well as other bills. I know it's rough but at some point we have to accept responsibility for our actions as adults and make tough decisions. I like your videos but I don't think asking for help when you have thousands of dollars worth of gear that most of your viewers can't afford is the right answer. Sorry for your situation and I wish you the best of luck. I will stay tuned to stay updated on your situation and please don't take this the wrong way.
I really want to avoid selling my gear that I own right now. Everything I own is being used heavily for the assignments I have. Everything you said is right though, I'm not disagreeing with you. If the FundMe does not work out, I will just have to work even harder and figure something out. I won't give up.
Hey man! I wish you good health. Grateful for your videos. You've been like a mentor. Will try to help with whatever I can. Congrats on getting married.
My financial situation is 10 times worse than yours, but I would never starting begging on youtube. Your shoulder got a bit bruised. Some of your kit took a battering and you come begging? Man up and sort your shit out. Stop looking for others to sort it for you.
This isn't a competition on who is in a worse situation than the other guy. I have been working hard and trying all that I can to figure this out on my own. This was upload 4 months after the incident, not right after. This is not begging, this is asking people for a favor, not demanding. No one is telling you that you have to donate or else.
I you think I was being competitive you have missed the point of what I was saying. If you still have assets you shouldn't beg. If you still have a tv, a games console, a computer, a car a freaking washing machine a coffee machine, you have no need to beg If you are capable of selling the camera gear and getting a normal job, you have no need to beg. Your life my not be as fun or as luxurious, but you will get by till you get back on your feet and can get back what you lost. Your situation is no different from a large majority of the population and a lot better the so so many. Yet you wont see them begging on the internet. I sorry that your having a hard time, but your video and attitude disappoints me. I thought you were a better person than that. I was wrong.
I really really wish I could help, but brazils currency is 4 - 1 dollar, so its impractical :( I wish I could do something to help. I can wish you only luck and yoou get better, there arent a lot of sports photographers on youtube, maybe if you produce more videos, get some extra revenue and maybeget a sponsor? Not sure. Get better and hope you make a video saying that you made it through :)
sorry that i can't help you. (haven't got a lot of money myself) i hope you get trough as you are one of the best sport photographers i know! btw congrads with your marriage.
+Toby Baldwin Sounds wonderful, but unfortunately that is not my case, or any American. I also tried to contact the School to see if their insurance would cover the incident, since it happened on their property. They did not have to though.
+Seth Sanchez thats bullshit. They should have some kind of insurance, company or school! damn, its not fair that you get injured and theres nothing to help you pay the bills.
+Seth Sanchez oh man that blows. I had a soccer player crash into me recently and the shutter release became stuck, but the team paid every penny without me even asking. Ill donate some money since your videos are really helpful. But it may take some time and it won't be 500 for sure cuz I don't have that lying around haha.

Wondering how much you raised from your campaign?
Have you thought about charging for your videos through patreon?

Don't worry, I understand. I will figure something out.
+Stephan Eilert Likewise I would love to help but I'm also struggling as its been a quite month for me.
Why not shoot for Getty or Sports illustrated? They probably pay more.
I would love to, but I have been trying to get on board with them and others for over a year now. No luck.

Thank you for the support :) and thanks, we are very happy together !
It's not much but the best of luck in reaching your target.
Dave, thank you so much for your donation. If there is anything I can do to return the favor, please do not hesitate to ask.
+Seth Sanchez nothing needed in return. Just a little help for a fellow photographer.

Seth Sanchez have u tryed to contact the company u were working for cuase it is a work incident
+Toby Baldwin yes, they are not responsible for any injuries or accidents. They have it in their policy.
