  • A lot covered today. Printing books with color insert on Konica 1200 Pro. Folding, laminating, calibrating side-by-side comparison, trimming postcards, perfect binding, collating, stitching, folding and drill a calendar, quick lesson on the joys of transparencies(I forgot to mention this is happening because file was designed in RGB and not CMYK) I have lots to share about pre-press operations, there are correct ways to prepare files for print. Quick repair on the CMT-330 three knife trimmer. Some spiral binding in my future.

    I'd love to see a tour of all the equipment you have. Look forward to seeing the spiral binding.

    I haven't checked, but I'd assume its still there somewhere in Calibrator, but use the check box for 'Auto Gray' to remove light color screens from backgrounds. Always tone up the engine first (gradation adjustment), then calibrate. Profile after corona wire or developer changes, then calibrate. Learned that from an old buddy that was a KM instructor.

      Interesting. I'll have to give that a try. Keep the knowledge coming!

    Hi Dan! Had a interesting query! For a perfect bound / centre pinned book, the cover of which is digitally printed and laminated on one side (i.e. the front side only), after a few hours of placing the book on the table, the cover tends to fold upwards. Is it because the cover is not laminated from the inner side and the moisture makes it do so ? Will laminating it on both sides solve this issues?

    • @justaprinter
      @justaprinter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes laminating both sides would solve that issue.

    I really like your printshop and your equipments. I'm planning to buy a Konica Minolta AccurioPress C83hc in the couple next months and I was stunned by the colors !! However can you tell me how much the C3070 with the same configuration did cost you ?

    • @justaprinter
      @justaprinter  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My configuration cost was $45k. Find your own financing if you can, and pay Konica cash, you should save a few thousand. I don't bother with the added expense of the "hc" I really don;t think my customers would notice the difference. What are you being quoted for a C83hc?

    • @pondorbox
      @pondorbox 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justaprinter If I tell you won't believe it. The C83hc price is around $80k but prices varies from region location to another. We deal with Konica Minolta EMEA resellers so product prices are in euro and are more expensive.

    • @justaprinter
      @justaprinter  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pondorbox I'm not surprised. I used to have a c8000. I found that the slower machines were much cheaper. If you buy two slower machines you will have more combined speed and redundancy. That is my strategy.
