In this video will look at the most lethal combat helicopter. The apache AH 64 built in the United States and the Light Combat Helicopter built in India. Let us get started.
The price of the Apache Ah 64 is around USD $35 million, and the LCH has the cost around USD$ 16.5 Million.

Some nine years ago,the nation was told that we didn't have enough military budget to buy even a couple of choppers and today we have manufactured LCH-Prachand and let's not forget Tejas.
We have even got our own GPS system NavIC.

LcH is made for special requirements for indian army to operate in worlds highest battle field
LCH is made according to Indian Requirements, we hold the highest Battle field in the World and are surrounded with enemies on Both sides
India has both. So end of discussion. LCH for mountain warfare and Apache for ground warfare. All the armored columns and artillery pieces of both the neighbors can be duly taken care of even if attacked simultaneously. We have Brahmos armed Su-30 and SCALP armed Rafale as long-range stand-off strike weapon systems for everything else.
LCH got inducted day before, the only issue is the absolute numbers are less and production capability is just around 30 an year (expecting most to be exported).
@@satyamtalwar If government invests billions into multiplying HAL's production capacity for Tejas and LCH, it will not only help IAF with Tejas and LCH but also in future programs like MWF or AMCA. But government isn't doing it now.

The Apache is literally a flying tank, BUT it cannot do one thing, which the LCH is specialized at doing....and that is HIGH ALTITUDE WARFARE..
India needs both these classes of helicopters...and both of them are crucial for our forces
We are our own enemies. Many goats and the IAF did not support our R&D. Else we would have had our own medium weight helicopter.
to be fair the US doctrine does not require the apache at high altitude, especially with the largest and most powerful airforce at their disposal.
It's unfair to compare India and US, India is only a young 75 years old country. In my opinion so far the development in many fields are incredible. Please appreciate.
Taking into account Firing range, Bullets which they can fire per minute, Types of missiles which they can carry, Height ceiling, cost, no doubt LCH seems to be best bet as we can deploy two LCH in two different directions which any country can aquire with the cost of one Apache

The cost of operation during peacetime also saves a lot of money when compared 1 on 1.
Very interesting video but I think one Apache Cost of $60 million US dollars and LCH only $16 million US dollars, so 1 Apache = 4 LCH so I go with LCH because LCH more capable of High altitude like laddakh siachine.
An Apache E costs $35 million. The $68 million for the Apache D was to cover R&D costs. However, packages are offered which includes training, ammo, the actual helicopter and tools.

LCH is made considering indian battle conditions where apache can't be as effective as LCH🙌
LCH as name suggests is lighter meant to fight high altitude in mountainous regions . LCH can take off and land at 16000ft with ceiling of 22000ft.
Purposes are different and one gets two LCH for the cost of one APACHE.

You were not paying attention, the Apache is actually 15 KMPh faster. but the LCH helicopter will climb 1300 ft higher, but unless you are landing on Kilimajaro, I don't see it's that big an advantage. LCH helicopter, being much lighter does have a much better range. but it won't lift as much ammunition. I also didn't see any missile pods on it. I wonder if they have the look/shoot capability? the gun turret aims where you look.
Kudos for bringing in LCH, it's proud moment for India and a great push for Made in India initiative. But how reliable the chopper would be in high altitudes as we can see in ongoing Russia-Ukraine war that far advanced combat helicopters are shot down if flown at high heights and also if a stinger shot from any of the two sides other than the back of the helicopter tail the chopper would go kaboom since Anti-missile flares are shot from the tail of the chopper.
I would suggest DRDO to innovate more high altitude flying combat drones where a bomb can de dropped on a pin point target and can also help in giving clear direction to our artillery at high heights as we can learn from Ukraine fighting techniques. Drone Units can be assigned to highly skilled SFF at borders.
LCH is specially made for High Altitude regions.
IAF sensed that they lack helicopters during Kargil War to fight at high altitude regions. Since then, India has been planning to develop a helicopter.

Main matter is the range of attack. Apache can carry more equipment but its range of combat is only 480 km but lch is around 700. It s the the main advantage of lch

Apache & LCH-Prachand Both Are Amazing Machines ♥️
They cannot be compared because they belong in different weight classes.
To a certain degree apache will be more survivable due to heavy armour but both helicopter carry anti tank and air to air soalso LCA can go a lot further on its fuel so at the end off day if apache is hit or LCA hit with handheld anti air Sam they both going down LCA has titanium shell in cockpit area for small arm so it has some survivability

Given the tech specs comparison- I think LCH is a better deal than APACHE .
The cost of 1 Apache = 4 LCH ..so any country investing in LCH will be able to buy more LCH ..and thus be at a considerable advantage by numbers ,thus translating to 4 times amplified power projection ratio.
Even as a single LCH (at 1/4th the cost of APACHE & given the LCH tech specs), .its still a great deal that will still benefit any country on a low budget.

Considering the cost per helicopter and its maneuverability, LCA stands to win.
Apache is heavy weight class and LCH is light weight class ....

Apache is like an M1 Abrams tank. LCH is like a Stryker armored vehicle in front of it.
India's defense industry has always impressed me. LCA, Tejas.. gives fear to friends and confidence to enemies
US has launched Apache in 1986 and it's R&D is still on. But in the case of LCH , it is India's first (maiden)light weight attack helicopter and it is almost very sucussfull. In future our speed of producing upgraded versions or a better helicopter will be faster than Other countries.
Successful? of the production line yes, but it is yet to be tested in combat. See the war in Ukraine on how overhyping capabilities are dangerous.

The LCH's has traded higher altitude capacity with armour protection. The Apache has heavier rounds of bullet ammunition but at a lower rate than LCH. As of now obviously the Apache is more capable due to its bigger payload but if the LCH gets more powerful engines it can probably match and even best the Apache. Right now the LCH needs longer standoff weapons due to less armour. The only baffling thing is why has the army got only 5 LCH whereas the IAF has 10. It should be the other way round.

There is no comparison between APACHE and LCH as they are of different category . APACHE is heavy weight and LCH is light weight category ......
As per my view, with good Scientists and Military and other Armor Services with a low budget India started to make High End Budget Helicopters which have high facilities and other stuffs, USA is far long from India that is sure but, still India is on the way... and will be near to USA with a little of time... a 35 M$ Helicopter and a 16 M$ Helicopter... diff will be there... but as per my view 16M$ Helicopter is what every country needs... with 35 M$ 2 Helicopter with 4 piolets is better than a 35 M$ 1 Helicopter with 2 Piolets.
West doesn't make helicopter (& fixed wing aircraft) don't need to have service ceiling specification at 6 km, which is far more for their requirement. It is so, as these countries operate at far lower heights compared to Himalayas (America's highest peak is just above 6 km while that in Europe is below 5 km) where India has her battle fields at almost to 20000 feet.
The video is more western centric giving apache a kind of pride. You see everytime subtly there was some appreciation for apache like 17 countries using it. Also LCH is not war tested ( comon we are not like fraustrated americans who go out on a public shooting spree when they get depressed or bomb someone with nuclear to show our capability { vietnam, laos, afganistan, iraq the list goes on}. GREAT POWER COMES WITH GREAT RESPONSIBILITIES.
Two diff class cant be compared that is for sure-but one point can't be ignored that lch can not only save foreign exchange but earn as well to help armed forces to leverage it to get more arsenal for deterrence and overcome indias inertia in weponizing since recent past due to beurocracy, corruption,delays....

The LCH needs to be battle tested to make it better. Cannot be compared to the Apache which has been around for so long, almost twice the weight & tested in various theaters of warfare.

Seeing the price difference, Apache is certainly not a great deal.
from price point of view, 1 Apache = 2 LCH
but I don't think so that an Apache can really win a combat against 2 LCHs.
Modern era is of the right balance between power, weight, price and technology and on these parameters I guess, LCH would be a better option.

HAL LCH can be fitted with anti Apache missiles fired from altitudes higher than the Apache's flight.

Both holicaptor is good, but apache has more budget, one apache will have two LCH. Both are far ahead of each other, but LCH is not less than Apache, but both are good. The brand is Made in India, which is 100% trusted.
Both configurations wary. India may field the Apache in Thar desert and plains of Punjab and Ladakh whereas it is more efficient to field the LCAH in mountain regions of Ladakh, Utharakand, HP, Assam and other North-east regions in overwhelming numbers as they could become an easy target of shoulder fired missiles. Also, LCH should have used the second seat capability better as there is no need for a dual pilot considering its weapon capacity. APACHE is an old design and Indian should have given better thought than replicating it in the same way. A single pilot would have been more efficient for LCAH. This will also be the foundation for building Medium and Heavy attack helicopters...
it has everything every sensor Apaches have except long bow radar and dual field of view pilotage which is different sensors not part of TADS , it provides dual field of view upto 120 degree for apaches as it is on nose and keeps moving. It helps in wide field of view and narrow field of view it's like a dedicated bigger infrared sensors TADS can do same function but this is used for dual field pilotage FLIR which helps in better situational awareness
This systems integrated with MAWS.( Missile approach warning system) can boost countermeasures capabilities even more ,lch has MAWS but this sensors is cherry on top

Difference is doctrine and requirement. The Apache is heavier and carries a larger payload than the LCH; and its Longbow variant is even deadlier.
The LCH on the other hand is lighter and designed for a high altitude battlespace; meaning its going to need to be quick - hence the lighter payload. I'm not sure if we have any comparable equivalents for the Hellfire but even a payload of 4 on each side (Hellfire equivalents) with 2 Mistrals will make the LCH deadly. I'm curious to see if it has SEAD capability like the Ka-50 and Ka-52 do - that'll truly make it a multirole craft.
We also don't know what other guided munitions the LCH is capable of carrying or how well its air and ground radar as well as tracking capabilities are so there's that to contend with.
With just 16 million India can make this much better then imagine with 60 million they can done so much better.
We wanted too our fighter Jets to even bomb fight everywhere on our greater Himalayan mountains crossing and without crossing our borders !!

bad comparison, AH-64 is is heavily armored ground attack unit while LCH is a light scout.

every tech of apache is present in LCH, except for that longbow, higher powered engine and weight, that's obvious as the name suggests light.
