I own the exact same piano made in the same year, just a few serial numbers from this one. Still plays beautifully with a great singing tone. All original parts and the pins are "uncomfortably tight" according to every tuner who has touched it. Hammers are in great condition and able to be voiced precisely. Rock solid piano with decades of life left in it. Highly recommend it.

I think your technicians really know how to get a big bass and a tone on the warmer side of the spectrum out of most of your pianos. You must have a pretty stringent method of assessing pianos. Maybe you've done an assessment video. I'd be curious about the process you take on whether to refurbish, rebuild a piano or not.

That has a really nice sound for being a small grand (and on TH-cam).

Curious for peoples opinions on these older Yamaha G2 grands. Do you like their tone? There's a complex set of things going on. It's an old, mature piano sound. Yamahas new have this incredible brightness, and the treble here is still something interesting and alive, but it's obviously changed. How is this Yamaha so warm though? NOT BAD on the bass either.

I was wondering about this too. I just tried a G2 made in the late 80's at my local store, and it has a much brighter tone which I'm not a fan of. If anyone could explain why there are such dramatic changes in tone for different pianos of the same model, I'd greatly appreciate it.
