    “Ash blossom” end video

    • @Exisist5151
      @Exisist5151 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s really not that simple in my opinion.
      Yes, ash blossom is a consideration.
      BUT:
      Book of Eclipse doesn’t target, and while that may not matter for kashtira, I like my side deck cards to have wide applicability instead of only a guarantee against one specific deck. Especially when the difference in power levels between decks is not huge this format.
      If you want a card that blows out kashtira, run lancea. You can fire it their turn to cut them off many of their power cards and potentially end their combo.
      -It also destroys floo if your deck has a bad matchup.

    I feel like in mathmech you can get away with playing eclipse because you can use it going first and remove a body with superfactorial. That way they draw 1 less. You're also only ending on Link monsters so you're not affected. The reason I still think eclipse is better is for the spright matchup if they start with beaver or live Twin, booking 2 monsters is significantly better than 1. That would instantly end their turn unless they have starter

    • @SimoneCatt
      @SimoneCatt ปีที่แล้ว

      I also think that for mathmech eclipse is superior, it works going first also and it solves a lot of boards, not only kashtira.

      Tbh I don't think Joshua even considered mathmech as a pick for London, i mean it's obvious he hates it but listening to what he thinks a deck should do to do well, he is either describing spright or mathmech 😂

    Yup. This is why I chose book of moon. I dont want to have to book my own field, and I dont want to risk letting my opponent draw a bunch of cards.

    • @Exisist5151
      @Exisist5151 ปีที่แล้ว

      So:
      Against Kashtira Specifically, and only kashtira, yes. I think he established a good point. You aren’t going to be facing only kashtira though.
      In my opinion, kashtira is one of the worst “best decks” relative to the rest of the format. To the point where I don’t think kashtira is going to be topping with the ease with which you can hate on the deck (unlike tearlaments).
      I would say run book of moon if your deck already has innate non-targeting non-destruction removal that isn’t hard to get to and the end board isn’t great. If it doesn’t, it’s good to have book of eclipse as it deals with branded boards better than book of moon does.

    I'm a dark magician main, book of eclipse is great when I can can combo it with Quintet Magician's effect to destroy all opponents cards when summoned, and the opponent has monsters that can't be destroyed by effects or targeted by single effects.
    Also works great with Dark Burning Magic, Dark Magical Circle, Ebon Illusion Magician, Chaos Angel, Master of Chaos.

    The thing I don't undertake about the entire "look i can ash it" argument, is that, guess what? Most of my hand and interactions during my turn can get ashed. While it is true that in 1/3 games they may have it, if your hand dies to a single ash then there's something not working with your deck rather than a general weakness of a single tech card.

It didn’t pop up to use its effect when the opponent summoned only when it activated its effect activated. I chained with book of moon but only gave me the option to flip down my monster… which got destroyed anyway. Can anyone explain?

    Eclipse is okay if you're on an OTK deck or want to flip your own stuff over sometimes to avoid targeting. Otherwise you have to be careful of not doing enough to break a board, meaning the opponent gets to draw cards. There's also the "Ash negates it" argument, but if they're wasting it on that, you could always just search or draw into a better board breaker that they now can't stop you from getting to.
    That said, if you're not on a Flip or Fusion deck(or in some cases ritual or tribute decks), the thing has enough risks of becoming a liability that you' d probably be better off with Moon anyway.

    Book of Eclipse pretty good in Swordsoul. Wait for the right moment, book their whole field and your own, yeah they'll draw some cards but who cares since it's the end phase, then Baronne negate is live again next turn when you flip her back up.

      because books are more flexible and therefore a better main deck option, since you can't know if you go first or second in game 1.

      @LnnyOsoTo ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nowadays a lot of game happens between turn draw and Main Phase, the books can be activated before Main Phase but Raigeki can not
      Also since they're QuickPlay you can just set them and use them as interruption during your opponent's turn, much better going first than Raigeki.
