I just purchased a Valencia orange tree from Lowes earlier this month. I was wondering what those little tendrils were on my branches. It is still in its origional pot from the store. Should I wait to prune it? I live in Mesa, AZ
Yes, you would totally be safe to not prune it until September when we get our fall flush. That's when we prune our citrus trees. BEFORE they come out of summer hibernation. We look for temps consistently at or below 105°f - 40°c, that's usually in the end of September.
Sweet dude, thanks for the update. your lemon tree is HUGE! Did you get any kumquats to ripen yet?
You're welcome! We love our sweet Pomona lemon tree.
We did and are getting kumquats to ripen finally! It seems like the kumquat tree is a little behind from our average citrus trees here in the desert.
We will get you a video on our kumquats soon!
😊 my citrus trees are about to bloom as well, the smell is so wonderful! I'm curious do you know where I can find an Anna apple tree?
Citrus will be blooming all month long!

Thanks!, we are trying to root many plants this year so that we can share them in the next fall or spring.

Congrats on your baby orange tree! You're going to love it 🍊🍊
Young trees need to focus on root structure for the 1st year, so the more leaves it has, the more Roots it will produce.
@@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard Thank you so much! I'm so excited!
