i was at that concert...my first concert and i got to experience The Strokes, Linkin park, Rise Against, etc but the Foo Fighters' performance was by far the best. And they were a surprise appearance which made it even better. Fucking amazing band and amazing day!
when the stage turned and that guitar started... best moment in my life. i get goosebumps every time i hear that song now. never been happier than i was in that hour they performed
What a great, great Foos party crashing event! They are on FIRE! They can crash my party anytime! The energy and music is amazing and delicious. Thanks SO much for posting this goneaway1989!
Just to add to your point, Foo's have been around for 16 years. It's getting to the point where they are popular because they have stuck around, and for the most part have gotten better, not because they are "pop".
Seriously the greatest Concert I've ever seen. Especially since Lykki Li was supposed to perform but she got sick or something, so they got the Foo Fighters. It was AMAZING
More than one person chose to click on this video and then instead of clicking out or going back to the previous page, they decided that they disliked this band/video. WTF? that took more time.
And obviously wrapping up with the most epic song ever, EVERLONG! DAMN I'D DO ANYTHING TO BE IN ONE OF THEIR CONCERTS. @goneaway1989 thx for uploading !!!
You can call it whatever you want. Pop, rock, blues, swing, a jelly donut, or whatever. The fact is, this is a band that's had commercial success for over 15 years and they've played Wembly Stadium with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. Dave Grohl has played drums with Lemmy from Motorhead. That sounds like a damn good rock resume to me. Oh, and I like it a lot and I'm 42 years old. Saw their last show in Atlanta and I'll see the next one.
dude i have to cleen your mind a litle bit dave is originaly the drummer of nirvana and the guy who helped alot kurt to make songs he wright his own song since he created the band his music is loved snce 1994 and 1995 the beinning of the band the people who listen to his music most of them are between 17 and 30 . dave wright music bout life in general ans the lirics are soo beautiful if you know what they mean i can't compare the whol pop music to him he is a hero his music is AWSOME
True, time will tell. Considering the Foo have been around since 94 (ok, I'll give them 95 since that's the "official" start date), which is almost 20 years and they're still quite relevant I'd say in the next 5-10 yes people will care about them. As far as Dave well, I could give compelling points (opinions) as to how he practically saved hard/stoner rock but, to each their own as they say.
1950's had Elvis, 1960's had The Beatles, 1970's had Led Zeppelin and AC/DC, 1980's had Michael Jackson, 1990's had Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Oasis, 2000's had the FOO FIGHTERS too bad they are on Hitatus now
Just to add, they did kinda win how many Grammy's this year over the more "mainstream" artists? I think they are kinda a big deal still. PS sorry for the bad English.
no, you just don't understand what a real frontman is when you see one....try and find someone else who has been in not one but three worldwide bands, also if you play guitar, try playing and singing one of their songs its hard as hell
Nah, he's right. The Foo Fighters stole the fucking show. That crowd was hyped as fuck and Linkin Park could not match that energy. Facts. I wouldn't consider myself a big Foo Fighters fan at the time, but HOLY FUCK, did they change my mind after that show. The Stroke, Rise Against, Young The Giant, Rise Against , Bad Religion, Linkin Park, BUT the Foo Fighters were the stand out that day. Revisionist history in these comments. Foo Fighters proved that Linkin Park should have been the surprise band. Foo Fighters should have closed the night out. They were so good, they converted me to a huge fan. Can't say the same about Linkin Park.
No, it isn't at all. He's so talented, if you can't see it, it's your problem. The tumor it's a true thing. If he forces too much (too many gigs and all) it happens this. And, if you don't like it, why the hell are you seeing the video? Just stop it and go, don't criticize one of the best musicians would ever exist.
STOP CRITICIZING DAVE GROHL, CAUSE GOD IS ALMOST AS COOL AS HIM. He's a great musician, a real rocker, he's just too awesome. He can't be perfect always, he's a fucking incredible person, but a human.
I'm sorry, I can sort of get what you are trying to say but the Foo Fighters actually won the Grammy for best Rock performance, not Pop. Yes they are a "POPular" band as you put it but so are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Blink 182, The Chilly Peppers and so many more, does that make them Pop music? No is the answer And to you not liking them, that's cool, I know that people have different tastes, but they are not, under any circumstance, a kids band.
No more or less than any other rock band. Not true at all unless your talking about those snobs who insist on only listening to anything pre-1990 like the beatles, the stones ect. don't get me wrong, I love the Beatles too. They are a real rock band through and through. They all actually play instruments, they aren't off doing Disney shows, they record to freakin' tape and Everybody love them, including Paul Mccartney, Josh Homme and Lemmy Kilmister. They are a true rock band to the end.
It was in my top 3 moments in my music life.... but I did feel bad for Linkin Park who had to follow this set...and they promptly put everybody to sleep and 3/4 into there set the mass exit was tuff to watch by half way into their set i would guess the venue was less than half full..
And that Grohl has had repeated success in 3 different bands, playing drums, guitar, and singing... not to mention the 10-12 grammy's he's won, and the recognition from Paul McCartney.. Sure they are rough around the edges, but Thats what makes them human and separates that from all the other mainstream acts out there.. Foo Fighters fuck up and they laugh it off and come back stronger, if Beiber makes a mistake the ramifications are much higher.
I think, sir, your name says it all, TheMilitantCritic. But your opinion, though yours and unique, is truly skewed and I could not disagree more. I think your comments re: Foo are off.
Seriously. I was in the crowd. I wouldn't consider myself a major fan. At the time, I just "liked" the Foo Fighters. After that night, I was convinced the Foo Fighters are one of the best live bands EVER. They have an energy that can suck in anyone. I woudn't say I just "like" them anymore.

You are so correct, I would not compare another band to them but the Foo Fighters, they deserve that honor. Michele.
just noticed that the ring that is supposed to sit in taylors bass drum, is hit on to the microphone!
I understood what you meant to say, but please it's the FOO FIGHTERS of our generation!!
Los Foo me hacen sentir como cuando conocí a los Beatles con doce años, ¡ME DAN VIDA!

The day i die, i want to be hearing from above, learn to fly in my funeral
Dave Grohl is the greatest rock n roller of this generation and its not even close
True, time will tell. Considering the Foo have been around since 94 (ok, I'll give them 95 since that's the "official" start date), which is almost 20 years and they're still quite relevant I'd say in the next 5-10 yes people will care about them.

GOD DAMN that Young Man Blues riff was FUCKING AMAZING
Sweet
Thanks for the upload. Just one question--Did Pat Smear piss off the director? You barely see him.
I agree
He is better than you will ever be
1950's had Elvis, 1960's had The Beatles, 1970's had Led Zeppelin and AC/DC, 1980's had Michael Jackson, 1990's had Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Oasis, 2000's had the FOO FIGHTERS too bad they are on Hitatus now
LOVE
It was a spam comment from I don't know where!
lovedave
Dave even says in an interview rock and roll is about screaming on stage.
Nice kit Taylor. Go Vols!
yes this is a good video!
Maybe because the show only is one hour instead of two,
So fucking awesome
dave was really excited for this concert...haha...he's sexy when he gets excited!!
Just to add, they did kinda win how many Grammy's this year over the more "mainstream" artists? I think they are kinda a big deal still. PS sorry for the bad English.
borderline rock ballad
no, you just don't understand what a real frontman is when you see one....try and find someone else who has been in not one but three worldwide bands, also if you play guitar, try playing and singing one of their songs its hard as hell
My computer isn't loud enough.
I just found out Linkin Park sucked the life out of here.
Dave Grohl's solution? "Let me just walk in here and tear shit up"
Linkin Park rocked the stage. both are great bands.
no way dude. They were awesome that night.
Nah, he's right. The Foo Fighters stole the fucking show. That crowd was hyped as fuck and Linkin Park could not match that energy. Facts. He has a tumor in his throat, so he isn't always at his 100%... And he's an incredible singer.
It's ok if you don't like the same music that we like, of course. We are different, but you don't have to be so disrespectful.
some of the comments on here against dave grohl are insane! jealousy is a terrible thing... foo fighters are amazing end of :)
the only thing bad about this is that its that its not a 3 HOUR SHOW! hahaaha 2 short!
No, it isn't at all. He's so talented, if you can't see it, it's your problem. The tumor it's a true thing. If he forces too much (too many gigs and all) it happens this. i knew the last song would be everlong :D
Most of the people who listen his music are 17-30? Well I'm 14
Look here... The Zeppelin of our generation
tell me, what do any of you think of the live version of "the pretender"? cause i find it acceptable, but kinda weird compared to the studio version.
Still not loud enough! I'm going to invest into a PA or something.
46.15 = magic
I'm sorry, I can sort of get what you are trying to say but the Foo Fighters actually won the Grammy for best Rock performance, not Pop.

Young Man Blues, its a cover/tribute song to The Who

No more or less than any other rock band.
Not true at all unless your talking about those snobs who insist on only listening to anything pre-1990 like the beatles, the stones ect. don't get me wrong, I love the Beatles too.

I remember leaving right after these guys. It wasn't even worth staying for Linkin Park.
didn't matter. There were still many when Linkin Park performed.
!!!
@Under6roundMusic Can I get an Amen!!!!!
wats the last song called i know it but can't think of its name?
daves guitar is so loud compared to the other guys.
It was in my top 3 moments in my music life.... but I did feel bad for Linkin Park who had to follow this set...and they promptly put everybody to sleep and 3/4 into there set the mass exit was tuff to watch by half way into their set i would guess the venue was less than half full..

Linkin park sounded like shit after they performed everyone left hahaha
I think, sir, your name says it all, TheMilitantCritic.
