Good times..... good times. You know, when Disney was still capable of producing something that checked the only box that mattered: Fun & entertainment 🤣
4:45 I love that the movie made a point to show how close their friendship was. Sinbad didn't think twice about pushing his friend out of the way and Proteus was literally no hesitation about to dive in after Sinbad but was literally pulled back into his ship by his legs.
How QUICK Proteus was to dive RIGHT IN for his friend! Not to mention, homeboy running back for more like a mad man!😂😂😂😂 LOVE IT!!! Miss movies like this!!!
No kidding he should get a raise! He survived an EXPLOSION inside THE BEAST'S STOMACH! I'm sure his ears were ringing like crazy when he got spat out and yet still went Leroy Jenkins on that Beast again! XD
Forget Cetus and his 2003 CGI (ahead of it's time, but its time is the past) I'm more interested in about 1:05. That is less than ten seconds of awespme animation. I watched it a dozen times to get an idea of everytring that was happening: you can make out the difference between Sinbad (fighting dirty, improvising, flowing aggressive moves, that attempt to knock Prodeus' feet out) and Prodeus (technical movements, more jagged and precise) in those few seconds. Good as the monster fights are for challenging the characters, the people fighting each other early in the movie remains awesome.
If i had a coin for every 2003 blockbuster movie about swashbuckling pirates that depicts a sly and cunning free spirited pirate paired with more serious and honor-centered counterpart as the main protagonists I'd have 2 coins which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
To be fair, he is a prince of a wealthy country and carries an artifact that can literally summon in an apocalypse. You bet your bottom dollar he will get the best ship out there to carry it.
Davy Jones: "Let no joyful voice be heard! Let no man look up into the sky with hope! And let this day be cursed by we who ready to wake… _the Kraken!!"_ Cetus: Appears Jones: "Eh?! Where's my pet squid?!" Cetus: Attacks ship Jones: "I don't know… it's pretty good, but I don't see it working underwater…" Cetus: Dies and sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Jones: *"I'lL tAkE yOuR eNtIrE sToCk!!!!"*
Fun Fact: when the barrel explodes inside of Cetus, it belches some green...substance. It'sd possible that we really just see a creature coughing up it's own blood mixed with the stomach acid and content
I actually never saw this movie. I remember seeing it advertised but I was that big into the Arabian Nights. But I'm super invested just based on this friendship between these two. Sinbad trying his best to come across as a dick and Prodious just not falling for it. It was just a game to them till the kraken showed up.
I love how in every of his version of modern media Sinbad is this badass adventurer/pirate while in the original stories he’s literally just the bane of every ship he’s on
@@DJKO12X Technically if we go back far enough to its greek origins, cetus means any large sea creature. Often with monstrous connotations. That it later served as the latin word for whale. Plan wasn't fully about the book. It was about having the people kill Proteus and the chaos all that would bring. It was about Sinbad and Proteus since the beginning
“Give that guy a raise” lol!! That guy does deserve a raise🤣🤣
And promote him to Commodore while you're @ it
and a therapist
Fuck it late him have his own shipXD
That guy gotten eaten and pucked up by a monster and still was willing to charge into battle, he deserves more than just a raise
Raise, Promotion, and command of his own Fleet
This movie is so underrated. It deserves a bigger audience.

Same with Treasure Planet & Iron Giant, those movies were better than the newer animated stuff nowadays.

Really shows a duo who are both Friends & Rivals.

Nothing more beautiful then a display of good swordsmen fighting a duel

You sure you don't wanna a 2D Netflix reboot of Sinbad based on the Dreamworks Voltron show? It could be an improvement since the original had CG.

Proteus’s ship must be stronger than it looks, as it was able to stay afloat despite the damage from the sea monster.
