Which Staples Do I Put In My Azorius Commander Decks?

Another really good Azorius board wipe is Time Wipe. It doesn't necessarily save your creature but bouncing your commander to hand is going to save you on command tax.

The thing about azorius that a lot of people don’t talk about is how there aren’t any good wincons that aren’t combos aside from the boring approach of the second sun. One card that I have found that NO ONE has talked about is Dream Trawler. It is reliable, stays on the battlefield, can get big in card drawing colors, draws cards, evasive with flying, and has lifelink for the late game

I run Linvala as my commander and she's probably in my most powerful deck. The secret to making her a good commander is to ignore the party mechanic entirely and build around her activated ability. I just focus on getting big beater angels out and blowing up the board.

Vanish into memory is an amazing card and I think I found it from your channel. I use it in giest of st Taft. I use it on the Angel token after it deals damage for a two mana draw four. It’s amazing.

Mirrorweave is a really fun card to use and is quite powerful in the right deck.
I run it in my millicent token deck and I had a few hilarious win with it.

Cards i would add:
- Reparations, draws you cards if they target anything of your things
- Emergency Powers, budget wheel that also returns graves in decks
- Mirrorweave, multi useable card
- Teferi, Time Raveler, big a** i mean protection and removal and carddraw and whatever
- Godhead of Awe creatures go small

The funny thing is Verdict is still bad against Spirit tribal and Soldier tribal. They have so many ways to gain indestructible, and phase out. And Queller ignores verdicts “can’t be countered” text which is funny! Just to name a few - Selfless Spirit, Guardian of Faith, Spectral Adversary, Clever Concealment, and Akroma’s Will. 👻

I have an Esper punisher deck that runs Fractured Identity purely to exile my own stuff so I can get 3 copies on the battlefield. 3 Ankh of Mishra's is funny, 3 Dingus Staff's end games quick and a Demonic Hordes when u aren't playing heavy black is a bit yuck 👍

Azorius is in the same category as Orzhov for me: very extensive toolbox for the 99, but not many interesting Commanders. Your options are Blink, Stax, and Underpowered.

I think that’s why Shorikai is by far the most popular Azorius commander. Feels like the first commander in those colors that has many deck building paths
