I've admired your music M'r. James for my lifetime. I'm 62 years old ...Your youth, your joy, your passion comes across in these recent videos. To your bass player....omg, much love, much love much love...keep it up. I'm sorry I don't your name, however, I will . and lastly but not least, your drummer...you keep time like no other.....you're awesome!!! You, together, all of you, keep making great music!
Oh man, this is just awesome. This track illustrates perfectly why such a perfect thing as the classic piano-bass-drums jazz trio exists and continues to do so and will forever be so -- three immortal beings inhabiting and sharing the same musical universe together making perfect aesthetic sense and perfect music. And let's give a hand to the engineering. All of it...just wow!
3 instruments, the piano jazz trio create heaven with these gents. Bass player so good he must have started playing at 2 😂. Incredible timing, unique feel. Wow a million thanks 🥳🥳
Bob James you're an absolute legend! I have always loved your music, but this is absolutely 💯 the best! Thank you for your contribution to the world of Jazz.
I've been listening to the smooth grooves of Bob James since the 70's. The guy just keeps getting better! He so consistent and innovative! I have some of his wonderful albums on vinyl! Like fine wine!
Bob always finds a great groove for his arrangements. He's in his 80's now ,still grooving. His smooth jazz style always classy and brilliant. Thank you Bob and great sidemen for bringing joy to this troubled world.💓
OMG, I've died and gone to heaven!!! This Bob James trio is the Bomb!! Thats why he's the best!! He always has the best musicians play with him!! Bob James ROCKS!!!!
I respect you!!! Your music as a teenager has been my lifelong compass. Your music has led me to become a musician. I am an unknown musician from a small city in South Korea, but thank you and thank you. You are my teacher forever. before and forever.
I cherish all my vinyl records of Bob James his music always brings peace to my life. Thank you Mr James you and your talent is a blessing to this world.
This piece of music is, to say the least, heavenly. Every time they play it they outdo themselves, from the point of view of neurobiology (I don't want to bore you) the feeling it gives releases a series of chemical neurotransmitters in the brain that generate pleasure and that makes it addictive, thanks for giving us this gift
This session is some of the best shit I've seen in a good time. They are enjoying themselves SO hard. Palazzolo has the BEST bass face I've EVER seen in Angela, and this ain't bad either.
I remember buying Bob James' Heads from a music fair circa 1990 and fell in love with Night Crawler... I ended up getting quite a lot of his LPs from that era including the one with Angela on and a live LP. I distinctly remember him being interviewed with Joe Sample for Blues and Soul magazine around the same time and they were both talking about their love for modern keyboard sounds of the time and how they weren't so interested in Rhodes et al.. Glad Bob had a change of heart as he sounds great on it...
My nexty dorm mate was totally into Bob during our freshman year at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff in 1978. He was in the Jazz Improv band there, and he knew the masters. Bob James, Maynard Ferguson, Chic Corea, etc. Bob is a gem with few equals.
I discovered a whole new musical realm when I stumbled across Bob James in the early '70s. His music helped launch my new age jazz show on our college radio station. Until then, the station was mostly classical. Thanks Bob for a lifetime of pleasure.
To speak of Mr. Bob James, without speaking of "genius", would be a crime. A dazzling artist whose harmonies are absolutely incredible!! Bravo, and a thousand thanks for this moment of feeling out of time 👍🎹🎶 Musically and respectfully, Phil

This is the first time I've heard an upright acoustic bass sound so clearly. Thanks to the sound engineer.
Emmet Cohen also has great sound engineers - and he also works with great bass players :)

That's one of the greatest live performances I've ever heard the bass player was laying down pure magic all three are unbelievable
Aye, the bass is fabulous, Note a note too hi or too low, all is right where it should be. Nice mixing for this media.
