  • This video shows you how to make conductive paint in three different ways.
Caution: The methods for making conductive paint shown in this video are cheaper than commercial ones only if you make a massive amount.
    Materials you need:
    1. Graphite powder, 44 micron
    amzn.to/3rygdOW
    2. Sodium silicate
    amzn.to/3aPfRgR
    3. Mr. Color model paint
    amzn.to/2WVPltW
    4. Acrylic paint
    amzn.to/3pxL7oI
If you only need a small amount of conductive paint, let's say 45ml , I suggest that you buy the commercial product directly
    amzn.to/3pxLn7a

When will you be doing the electroforming video using method B? I've tried PVA, alcohol, and water-based acrylic but they're all trash. That solvent acrylic looks very promising.

Can we make using combination of chemicals, combining wet alkaline compound from 1.5v cell and lithium from lithium cell , add epoxy or acrylic or any other glue, I think conductivity improves.

i would try lightly abrading the 3rd methos. i can imagine the paint coating much more graphite surface area thus making more resistance

Anything conductive is fine. Nickel, silver, copper plating etc. will work fine with graphite. More conductive paint just might work better/quicker.

I would have thought conductive paste might be useful, the paste used on heat sink to component. just need a drying agent to be added.

    Interesting!
Has anyone tried any of these methods to mix up solution to use to fix remote controls where the buttons aren't working?
Does any of the 3 solutions STICK to the rubber pads very well?
Has anyone tried replacing, for example, the model pain (B) with epoxy glue and see if that sticks to the rubber contacts in the remote??

@@FixItYerself Oh you have no idea! LOL
It's a year later and I still haven't gotten to fix all these remotes.
I WISH that I could buy new ones!
I have 4 Logitech Harmony 600 series and you can't guy new ones anymore.
Logi discontinued ALL of the Harmony line.
It's really too bad because they are incredible remotes.
You don't enter code for the equipment, you connect to the internet and set up what equipment you want to control and it downloads everything for you.
I have equipment that NO universal remove has codes for!
Plus, when these were new, they were about $70 each and I'd be happy to buy new ones if they were available. sigh

@@NotaFullShilling-bj8ov I've see others use the tinfoil and super glue thing, but in all cases, they report that they don't last long. The tinfoil gets chewed up and the crazy glue lets go.
I have thought of using this aluminum tape that I have. But I just haven't gotten around to do it.
Something else I've thought of that would just work, is to strip out the main board and design a new case that has actual mini-tactile buttons (physical) and just do it that way.
It would end up being a lot bigger, however. But it's an option.
I have a 3D printer, so it would just be a matter of designing the case in Fusion 360.
      Fun times... sigh... LOL

    • @TheStigma
      @TheStigma 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yea, but you need to follow the general rules of painting plastics. Some plastics have very low surface energy (similar to teflon) and paint has troble sticking. General rule of thumb is that if the plastic is heavier than water (sinks) it can be painted without too much problem. Floating plastics like the common HDPE and PP need flame treatment - otherwise you can expect bad finish and delamination. In all cases a light sanding is recommended for good adhesion.

It would appear that quite a few people commenting on this channel are missing the key word that best describes what is being presented.
That word is "Conductive" Anything that is conductive allows something to travel along it, or through it, without much resistance. In this case we are talking about electricity.
The more conductive a material is, the lower is its resistance to electricity travelling along or through it.
When the subject is EMF, which is a form of radiation, is being explored, conductivity is bad, resistance is good.
This is because most times, EMF is something you don't want reaching you. So in this case the greater is the resistance of a material, the harder it is for radiation to travel along or through the material and reach you.

Wrong! ohm measurment represents resistance. The higher the resistance the poorer it is for use as a conductor.
However high resistance conductors are great at producing heat. The filament in your bread toaster is a good example of a material with high resistance value.
