  • Actor & artist Malcolm-Jamal Warner sits down with Ebro in the Morning to discuss his band, his acting career, and his Grammy nominated spoken-word project.
    He discussed the legacy of The Cosby Show especially following the controversies surrounding Bill Cosby, the impact the show made on the culture, reactions to comments he had made in the past, and more about that chapter in his career.
    Warner also discussed his art as a bass player and how he got into it, including the bands he is apart of, one being an A Tribe Called Quest cover band.
    Other topics include his time on Malcolm & Eddie, other shows he has acted in, his thought on Black television today, growing up as a child actor, and more!
    His Grammy nominated album 'Hiding In Plain View' is available now.

    Malcolm has one of the greatest voices a man can ever hope for. It’s crazy that he is now a few years older than Bill was when the Cosby Show first started.
    I hope I can catch that ATCQ tribute show he was speaking about. Dope concept!😮

    I was born in 80s and grew up in the city in the 90s graduating HS class of the millennium. We got a chance to see what life is before false validation from a bunch of strangers in moms basement "online". As far as Sitcoms almost every show from during the 90s was great in its own way. The Cosby A Different World Family Matters Full House etc all had a goal which was family values Men Women Son and Daughter and the importance thereof. It's shame what's being taught and pushed into society from the morally confused these days. But I digress

  • @kyleeverett5168
    @kyleeverett5168 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If we are keeping it a buck, The Cosby Show clearly wasn't the first tv show to depict a black family on television. It was the first to depict a black family from a certain perspective, maybe. But why do we hold The Cosby Show as more of an iconic show than say Good Times?

    • @parabellum5503
      @parabellum5503 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      IMO Cosby > Good Times because Good Times was a story that we knew or had already been told. Cosby showed us that we ( black people) could be middle class successful not just the ghetto or street.

    • @lovelyladybug993
      @lovelyladybug993 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point, although I do consider Good Times a iconic sitcom, I think it is just in a different category. Good Times was about our struggle.The Cosby show was iconic because it depicted a black family without the element of our struggle.
