I love my 06 Magnum SRT8...For 2006 Maggie srt8 had very similar skid pad results with entry level 2006 corvettes...I can throw it around pretty confidently lol....big fun....
Bro, the circular theme is based on the same circular theme that every other car has uniquely implemented over the last 130 years. It’s called a “wheel”, and it’s this crazy shape known as “round” and that shape simulates constantly falling down an incline, which allows forward movement, and it’s been all the rage in the civilized world for several thousand years. That panel by the left knee is an indicator of the shared platform with the 300 and Charger. It’s a spot for a remote trunk release.
I own one. You can sleep in it the night before a track day! This car performed and handled beyond my expectations at The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton WA with Hooked on Driving. When I showed up, they said, "Nice Gangster car". Supposedly drug dealers in Oakland CA liked these wagons - Fast and big drug runners. Lol. I wonder how much Crack you could fit in it? This wagon is a keeper!
I have an 06 SXT, personally i love everything, considering it had 202K miles when i bought it almost a year ago, it's the nicest car I've ever owned. I can agree the steering wheel is a little less than desired, but honestly. I don't really care about aesthetics, I prefer performance and comfort over everything else. On mine the clearcoat is falling off the cigarette lighter doesn't work, but it handles like a dream on curvy roads. It's not a V8 or hemi, but it is no slouch with the 3.5L V6 and just feels solid. I would love to see a modern magnum, with a twin turbo inline 6 and see what it could really do. BTW i paid $1900 for mine and replaced the windshield ($350.00) and do not regret it
Has it been reliable, other than the cigarette lighter issue, which wouldn’t bother me (unless there was no other way to charge a phone)? I rented one years ago, & loved it. Couldn’t afford one then, but can now. I rented an r/t, & can still remember the fun I had. Finding one though, will be hard, since obviously it’s a very rare gem of a vehicle.
@@adamphynes7342, It's me 7 months later and a year and almost half since buying this car, still runs even the 6 disk in dash changer still works perfectly (getting my old CD collection back together) Still loving it
Like what you like, don't like what you don't. For my money, complaining about the interior "not feeling special", is a bit silly - unless the car is specifically meant to be chauffeur-driven (S-class, Maybach, Rolls, Bentley, etc). Are the seats comfortable? Check. Does the switch gear work properly? Check. Does the stereo bang? Check. Does the car look, sound, and drive awesome? Check, check, and check. I'll take it, thank you. A bit of plastic doesn't bother me at all.
Loved this thing as if it were my child. I just wish I had the money back then to buy one. I love wagons. My family had at least 2, & I had a Passat Wagon, Rented an r/t pre-revised Magnum, & I had a ball with it for a few days, while my Subaru Outback was in the shop. For what it was, it was an awesome car. Hoping I can get one now.
Going to go check one out and hopefully get it in a few days. Black 2008. im excited and i think it will at least hold its value. and the main thing be a heck of a lot of fun! BTW great video you did a great job on this.
It was ahead of it's time, sure. But it was kind of a design flaw from the beginning. If I buy a wagon, I'm doing so for the storage space in the back. The shape basically limits the usability of that space. Edit: I'd still buy one tho because I love wagons.
If they made something like it today, raised it an inch and called it an SUV, it would sell like hot cakes. The trend now is SUV coupes. We are driving one now in the Audi Q4 Sportback. Same concept, sportier look but limited space for stuff. If you want to have cargo room, just get the Q4 (non Sportback)
I my self own an r/t and I have driven the SRT8 and I believe your assessment of the handling is incorrect but I will say that it has room for improvement and can be improved upon….Asside from the that you are spot on everything else
It’s a beautiful car with great fun . My SRT put the Mustangs and Camaros of the same year to Shame . Odd how you complain about the plastic, yet the Corvette and all other cars were the same at that time.
My daily driver is the 5.7 Hemi'ed R/T Magnum for the last 5 years. It's my favorite car, big, roomy, has great get up and go, since I did a Predator tune, Corsa Cat back exhaust, and a cold air intake , so I get better performance, but I've been shopping for the SRT8 and they are hard to find within 500 miles of me. I can't buy anything I haven't touched and tire kicked. The thing about this review is he keeps negatively commenting on the interior like he is thinking why isn't in modern like today's vehicle. It was the mid 2000's, I got tired of the video half way through it...
they really are rare gems now days, these 6.1 srt8s

That car has a lot more performance in it than you extracted.
Hence the pink shorts..lol

i love this car there is nothing wrong with the inside or inside

I vote we enact a new law prohibiting totally unqualified goofballs who just don’t get it from interviewing such a sight.

bruh that steering wheel is fine.

Always loved these. Would be cool to see them bring it back. Great video as always 👍

Owned both a 07 MSRT and 08 MSRT the 08 is so much nicer on the interior/exterior design.

Yeah, they're pretty slick but I'm partial to my antique car. It's unfortunately not a wagon, tho.

this is a swapped 6.1 magnum, this is not a stock from factory dodge 6.1 magnum, all magnums srt comes with navigation
Thanks for the info. That’s why we stick mostly to the new stuff.
@@GTGarageTalk thanks to you for bringing the magnum to life, is a really fun car better when you do burnouts 😂
Circles are weird?
I said what I said. Lol
only a chrysler 300c touring wagon would be the perfect route to take the interior was better and it would have been a hit probably
This man is afraid of circles
Deathly afraid. Don’t come at me with the post Malone song.
