@@seanhammer6296 Not at all. He brought it up, she responded. What does it say about you that you found her expressing her thoughts on vegetarianism "judgemental"?
I think she's awesome, speaks from the Heart. I also recently bought a CD by her, I live the song Human, I also heard a different voice from her, super Soft, very beautiful sounding, only because radio station only play the famous hits, from Pretenders Greatest Hits. Also Forever Young, I Got You Babe, the music is different but her voice is what were use to hearing in that song. She doesn't get the credit she is so very much deserving of. Her voice takes me to another place inside, she is so much more ! Love listening to her . Big Huge Smiles.
Chrissie, besides her singing voice, has a very cool speaking voice also, an intelligent lady with a sense of humor. And that CH edge, the strong-minded, forward-marching rock chick.
I was in middle school when The Pretenders hit it big on the radio. I've loved Chrissie ever since. Sadly, I've never seen her perform. I hope I get to, though.
I soooooo agree with her, it's like hanging around with a person that doesn't have the same faith beliefs as you do. I've been eating the same way and I can honestly say that I have felt better.
CH. Your so open and honest. Thanks for riding a public bus, best way to see a community. I Love it in any country. Your so cool. Xo CH. Keep on Keeping on.
I love it. The host brings in some BS identity politics equity crap about all her musicians have been male and Chrissie shuts it down with common sense.
How can ppl call her 'cruel'?, she's vegan ffs! And yes, she hides under some shells in real life, no wonder. I've met her in London when i was a stupid teenager, but even then she was nice. I have much respect for her and she's a very strong woman!
To me, the complete absence of empathy when it comes to humans eating meat is the most scary thing about this world. I think that if you continue to eat it after having watched an abattoir documentary, with the sheer terror and agony of various lambs, calves and piglets right before your eyes, there's some kind of malfunction in your brain.
II think the same way. And also if you think about the huge number of artists there are, who are supposed to be more sensitive and so few of them are vegetarians or vegans, that speaks a lot about the lack of sensitivity in the world
Self righteous vegetarians are so much alike. I would like to get her and Paul McCartney on a plane to the arctic and have them preach to the native Inuits to plant vegetables there instead of hunting seals and other animals. I’m sure that would be very successful.
I'm vegan but if could hunt and kill my own game and eat it I would. What we oppose is the factory farming cruelty of the dairy industry. The way animals are reared and culled is unhealthy and inhumane. I love meat but I don't want it injected with growth hormones and antibiotics.
I am really warming to this interviewer,at first I use to find him annoying and a little full of himself but I think he asks intelligent sensitive questions.I love this woman,to think I have been listening and watching her since I was like 11 or 12,I can still remember seeing her on totps.Thise where the day when seeing your favourite pop stars each week on TV was just so thrilling from Blondie to Kate Bush and getting a copy of smash hits each week. She will forever be part of these important teenage years.
I used to love the Pretenders and Chrissie Hynde. I saw them twice, back in the 80's. I was a big fan. A strong female leading a rock band, wasn't very common. But, in your memoir you said that when you were raped, it was your fault, due to what you were wearing. You said, "women who dress provocatively put themselves in more danger than those who dress and act modestly." You said if you dress modestly and you are attacked, then it is his fault. But it is the woman's fault if they are dressed proactively. Shame on you for saying if a woman is raped, it could be her fault, according to the way she is dressed.

@@MrLeighman "In fact we are omnivores, capable of either eating meat or plant foods. The following addresses the unscientific theory of man being only a plant eater." www.vrg.org/nutshell/omni.htm
I wonder if Chrissie Hynde would be a proponent of something like Memphis Meats. Basically the meat is made in a pet with genetic material and the animal doesn't have to suffer at all because you're not making it from a slaughtered animal. At least that's what I've heard.
She may not smoke and drink and do all the right things health wise today but she tore it up back in the day . She gave all the boys a run for their money party wise. Drugs and sex addictions
Interesting that she was off on the deaths of Pete and Jimmy. The latter died in late 1982 and Farndon in April 1983. Not 1985. Learning to Crawl was the post death album and it came out in late '83. But I understand. Lots of things for her to remember with all the events of her life.

I believe this a Swedish show. I think he is more comfortable speaking Sweden. I saw him interview, with subtitles, Agnetha of ABBA and he seemed more comfortable.
It would have been nice to hear more about "Chrissie Hynde....the person" as opposed to "Chrissie Hynde, the vegetarian". I assume these are mutually exclusive, or are they? One might never really know.
Things to consider. Is she wearing makeup that was tested on animals? If most men that are in rock n roll are on the feminine side, would it be true then, that most women in rock are on the masculine side? She doesn't want animals killed for consumption, but she's Ok with killing humans just because its an inconvenience to the mother. That makes no sense! Just another person who lived in a elite bubble for too long, thinks they can pass judgement on everyone else. She should change the band name to "The Pretentious"
When she is talking about fish, Chrissie Hynde exactly describes the graphic animation in the movie "Unplanned" of an actual abortion as witnessed by a former PP clinic director ... "a little guy with a small little body and he's trying to get away from you .. If I am in a superior position and I can dominate something I let them go..." I wonder if her principles of compassion apply to preborn children in the womb .. That would be an interesting conversation. Love Chrissie ....
