Nice work. I am just about to build a flat cart from my vardo in order that I can get back on the road after the loss of my bull. Didn't want to lose the front axle so I will be upping the stakes to a Lincolnshire Hermaphrodite (nothing sexual LOL)so if/when I get my boll replaced I will be able to revert to a for wheele cart again, but still be able to drop back to a hand cart when wanted.
i love your flat cart it is a very good video ,thank you for replying ,i asked another video maker about how the timber shafts are made,he replied he dose not know what they are.
It's a nice 'hand cart' but its not a horse drawn cart. Those are 'man handles' not horse shafts, probably for moving inventory around a loading dock, or moving luggage around a railway station in the late 1800s.
Shafts were added later in the build, and the swingle tree as seen towards the end of the video. And I can assure you it has been horse drawn ever since. 👍

Thank you, it's a good little cat, perfect for my little horse 👍 some shafts are steam bent Ash wood, mine are cut from a plank if spruce. Cheers
how did you make the axil for the wheels
It's a steel bar with trailer hubs welded on each end... 👍
