12:54 *Watco* (WAMX) is _contracted_ to operate the Kansas City Terminal Railway and switch rail yards and industries located on KCT trackage. KCT is jointly _owned_ by the area Class 1 railroads *BNSF, CP, KCS, NS,* and *UP* that it connects.
Nice work. Those low-angle long shots are outstanding. Liked. Most I ever saw at one time over here was 7 on the VR cam. A BN meet on the flyover, a UP meet on the raised, and ground-level had a UP on the curve headed east, a BN going west, and that yellow and black small carrier on the curve moving north to east. Crazy out here.
Santa Fe Junction is so busy that it's the one place I need two cameras to capture everything (which is handy for stuff like at 19:14), and I had to split my videos of my visits to SFJ there into two parts! This junction has the capacity to have TEN trains going through it at one (if you count the Ft. Scott Sub tracks which you can't see from this parking lot). I do hope that someone builds a train-watching tower here for the public someday as this is in a part of the city not many people drive through
4:39 It would have been intelligent for the pilot on the bottom train to stop ~15 metres before the bridge instead of just under it, so that if the train above fell, it would not have fallen on the locomotives.
A few weeks ago when I was in KC I saw quite a few of the ex BNSF dash 9s (GECX) now owned by KCS. So are the GECX units on BNSF trains on loan from KCS to BNSF?
A great video. Nice info board. Don't break a leg to video two cars as there is ample train action otherwise. Nice to see the engineer let the truck pass. Rode RI,SF, UP in/out of KC.
Rivers, stockyards, middle of country...But this exact place mostly because geography. Bluffs, rivers and the middle of about 7 big surrounding yards.. KC is King of tonnage per day..
In light of various comments put forth about slowdown in the economy, how does the train traffic here compare to say 2 or 5 years ago. After all, Walmart is actually closing some stores, and what about coal traffic? Thanks. I live up here in St. Joseph, MO. 8-20-21.
Apples and oranges. I’ve never been to Europe and have no interest in going there, but I do know that probably more FREIGHT traffic goes through this area in a month than goes by rail in Western Europe in at least six months on their dinky little freight trains.
Nice compilation! Welcome to KC where the train madness is at!
And yet I thought the NS Conway yard was busy
@@bhproductions1061 More tonnage per day through KC than anywhere in the world...
@@davehughesfarm7983 A lot of that freight comes through Topeka from Kansas City. I love these videos❤️🚂

Train, train, train, another train, woah that's a lot of trains... An INSANE amount of trains, Lol!
The first train was on the flyover, not the hi-line. The Hi-Line is the track below that first train that crosses the Kansas river.
You are right it is busy I cant wait to go here
You got some good shots in the heat of the day..
All I can say is WOW!
Great action dude. Awesome work!
Very good, thanks for the vídeo. From CDMX 😉. !!
Great video! I like these long ones. Sitting in the office is somehow less tedious when you've got the ambiance of trains to offset the silence.

I enjoyed this and then the fun was ruined when i had to go
Nice Catches!
The best railfan video ever!

There is that big hill back there..I have talked to the owners once..Trying to get a ball rolling ..But it fell through..Im not done yet..
I had a bit of thinking group about this.. I contacted the property owner about that hill up there..Need to inquire again.
Awesome!!!!! Excellent video.
Heh. I had the 5421 as a trailing unit in my consist yesterday. Interesting timing on this video haha
Those trains with the containers up top are z trains. They're the hotshot of the railroad. The entire railroad stops for them to go by.
Man those dash 9s need to be put out to pasture, would have been better to keep the warbonnet dash 8s :) Great clear video, awesome footage.
I have seen videos of as many as 6 trains moving through at once

I think he needed some shade.

Love This Video
does anyone know the history of why this place is at the confluence of so many railroads, was it the stockyards?? thanks in advance

WAMX is the reporting mark for Watco, not Wabtec.
GREAT VIDEO...THX
This spot is sure busier than the Blue Island Area in Chicago lol
This isnt even all the lines that are there..Theres like a whole other jct due eat a few yards...Hence the horns but cant see the trains..
Great video. Do you plan to revisit this site again????
Awesome Video btw what does Flag mean
Nice train video.from Japan.

Nice!
awesome video I loved all the boxcars on that one train
please comment
Nice video...but if you want to see busy....go to Europe.

This lil old town of KC has more tonnage per day than anywhere in the world..
