Woo! I think you guys missed the mid/post credit scene setting up a season 2 story. But we do know Gamora’s episode was pushed back to season 2 because they couldn’t finish it in time due to covid.
Hmm, seems you missed the mid-credits scene, which will essentially lead to Peggy's Winter Solider in a way, hell, in the Hydra Stomper, be cool if he became a version of the Crimson Dynamo lol The Watcher I think couldn't interfere with Ultron Won's set world's history, but he could with the Avengers-less history, since it's like.... cut and paste. But it's confirmed Season 2 will have Covid delayed "Tony on Sakaar" episode, with the return of this episodes Gamora, and with stories that will feature phase 4 movies, like Black Widow, Shang-Chi and Eternals.
I don't think this leads to a Winter Soldier situation. With the "Steve & Peggy Dance Theme" playing, I believe the Watcher truly gave her her happy ending.
@@MrNathansdad I assume Steve will be the new Winter Soldier and be fused to the Hydra Stomper the way Bucky had his metal arm fused to him. It wont be Steve that Peggy finds. It will be a Winter Soldier.

As for the protection spell, you'll notice back in his episode when he first arrives at the temple, he has to dispel each rune of the temple's protection spell one at a time. That Strange is started out (in the chair with the stone thinking about Kristine) just before Infinity War. We've also seen that Strange spent several centuries absorbing other creature's powers and learning new magic. He likely picked up some new tricks while doing that.

I think what the watcher was saying at the end is that he will protect their STORIES, not necessarily the people in them. So for instance the destruction of Earth might be part of 1 said story or universe. He won't step in to stop that one story from happening. But in this case when every single story was in danger of being destroyed, thats when he was willing to step in.
I think the last line was the watcher saying he’s going to stop just watching with the “now I will protect it to the end”. Now actively protecting the multiverse? Idk tho

Hey, Holden and Jen! It all comes down to this! Here's my take on the "What If...?" finale: As this episode revisits all others, the cast is stacked with MCU regulars and the usual suspects for substitutes with one new addition. Hayley Atwell is Peggy Carter, Toby Jones is Arnim Zola, Frank Grillo is Brock Rumlow, Georges St.-Pierre is Georges Batroc, Chris Hemsworth is Thor, Tom Hiddleston is Loki, Chadwick Boseman is T'Challa, Michael B. Jordan is Erik 'Killmonger' Stevens, Benedict Cumberbatch is Dr. Stephen Strange, Samuel L. Jackson is Col. Nick Fury and Kurt Russell is Ego. The returning substitutes are Lake Bell replacing Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanov, Brian T. Delaney replacing Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Mick Wingert replacing Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, Ozioma Akagha replacing Letitia Wright as Shuri and Ross Marquand of "The Walking Dead" replacing James Spader as Ultron. The new addition is Cynthia McWilliams replacing Zoe Saldana as Gamora. All the substitutes are reasonable facsimiles. Jeffrey Wright's Watcher begins assembling the GUARDIANS OF THE MULTIVERSE by plucking Captain Carter from her version of "The Winter Soldier" during her op with Natasha and Rumlow aboard 'The Lemurian Star' while she tussles with Batroc. These events are a continuation of her version of "The First Avenger" from EPISODE 1. In a continuation of the EPISODE 2 cliffhanger, Star-T'Challa is plucked during mid-rescue of Peter Quill from the Dairy Queen where Ego was siphoning his energy to fuel the growth of his Ego-matter! In a glimpse of a PANDEMIC-POSTPONED EPISODE which will air in SEASON 2, Sakaaran gladiator Gamora is plucked from Nidavellir where she and fellow armored gladiator Tony Stark are enlisting the aid of Dwarf-Giant Eitri to melt down an Infinity Gauntlet! In a continuation of the EPISODE 6 cliffhanger, an embattled Kill-Panther is plucked from a ruined Wakandan throne room just moments before the vengeful duo of Pepper and Shuri seize him with a squad of Dora Milaje to prevent his capture by the invading Americans so that he may be subjected to Wakandan justice! In a continuation of the EPISODE 7 cliffhanger, Party Thor is plucked from the Vegas strip as he battles the Ultron drones that have already invaded his universe! The team materializes in Captain Carter's Howling Commando English pub hangout metaphorically constructed in the Multiversal Bleed by Uatu. Dark Strange from EPISODE 4 is the bartender. The Watcher lays out the threat of Visi-tron while Kill-Panther eyes the vibranium in a drone's head that came with Party Thor who incredulously walks out only to be almost sucked into the Multiversal Bleed! Gladiator Gamora breaks out their ace-in-the-hole: the Infinity Crusher, a device capable of pulverizing the Infinity Stones! They're whisked away to a promontory on a desolate planet to ambush their quarry. Cap Carter learns about Steve-Cap from Dark Strange, Kill-Panther studies the drone head too intently for Gladiator Gamora's liking and Star-T'Challa salvages a rambling toast by the sorcerer which elicits a lightning storm from Party Thor that attracts Visi-tron's attention. Dark Strange girds the team with individualized runes that form a protective coating mimicking armor and shields! The android easily absorbs a full blast from Mjolnir while Gladiator Gamora and Kill-Panther sneak off through a portal. Visi-tron demolishes their mountain perch but the remaining Guardians emerge from the rubble magically shielded! Dark Strange multiplies a hurled Mjolnir into a swarm of battering hammers while Captain Carter flings herself from Star-T'Challa's rocket-propelled back with a magically reinforced shield to bludgeon Visi-tron senseless as Star-T'Challa jumps him and snatches the Soul Stone! As Carter grips a returning Mjolnir, T'Challa is blasted away. Strange clumps the Mjolnir cloud onto Visi-tron and Thor electrifies the mass of uru metal while Carter retrieves a shielded T'Challa. Strange covers their retreat with jets of flame from a triple-headed dragon and delivers a coup de grace with a portal to the zombie universe from EPISODE 5 that dumps millions of revenants onto Visi-tron's head! The zombified Scarlet Witch blasts Visi-tron with a massive hex but, although powered by Infinity Stone energy, she faces an android who has five of them and he obliterates the entire planet they're on! Ricocheting through Multiversal transit, Carter and company rendezvous with Kill-Panther and Gladiator Gamora on the Earth of Visi-tron's origin which is in the grip of a nuclear winter. Suddenly, Nuclear Natasha from EPISODE 8, roars past on her motorcycle and snatches the Soul Stone from Star-T'Challa! Carter orders the group to not attack and convinces this Natasha of their intentions based on the knowledge of her Natasha. She drops the names of her bio-father, Ivan, and her surrogate father, Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian, as well as mentioning that Nat only trusts three people meaning Peggy, Clint and Fury.
The watcher didn't bring Nat to just a different world in general, it was the one where Loki took over after Hank Pym killed the avengers and when nick fury unfroze Captain America and called Captain Marvel
I think Doctor Strange's magic was so potent against Ultron for a couple of reasons- first, he's from a reality that Ultron hadn't/couldn't have visited and second, because Strange's powers come from the various extra-dimensional creatures he'd absorbed. That probably makes magic that "Dark Strange" casts pretty unique.
So happy to see you finally posted this…probably not long after my embarrassing Instagram DM, lol. 🤣 In hindsight I realize I should’ve told you about the post credit scene…though I’m guessing you’d probably filmed this before I messaged you, and/or you probably didn’t even see my DM at all with all the messages I’m sure you guys get. 😊 You guys should definitely watch the scene, if you haven’t already…only about 15-20 seconds but totally worth it! Especially for a Cap fan like you, Holden… 😉 Anyway, I was so thrilled to see this uploaded today! Thanks! Next up in the MCU…Eternals!! Woo-hoo! Just bought my tickets for Thursday, Nov. 4th…anyone else get theirs?!? 😁
The world Uatu (The Watcher) took the Widow too was the one we saw in episode 3 where Loki helped Fury stop Hank Pym when he was murdering the avengers and we found out at the end of that episode that Captain America and Captain Marvel were still alive, so that’s where The Watcher took Black Widow to because that’s a world where they lost Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Hulk, and Black Widow. At the end of episode 3 Loki takes over earth basically since there aren’t but 2 avengers left so that’s how that worked into the finale.
The part at the start with Ego was interesting, because that was Peter Quill he was draining. Since he didn't become Star Lord, he ended up working at that Dairy Queen in his home town.
Hmm . I thought this too. Considering Scarlett’s legal battle with Disney and all however that seems to be settled. She said I think “looking forward to working with them in the future “ or something like that can’t remember what she said. Due to the multiverse now is a massive possibility indeed.. I don’t think it be for now . They should of hinted that in the black widow movie at the end credit scene where her sister is paying her respects at her ‘grave’ and whistles . Would of been cool you heard a whistle back and the camera fades… I heard something before that could of been possible. Just too soon with her death. With that you could even bring Tony stark back due to the multiverse but it’s too soon. Black widow could return at some point though even if it’s a past self or a different version in the timeline. Crazy thing about this multiverse we have no clue what’s going to happen that’s the excitement really!🙌🏽
Not everyone was chosen for their fighting skills except Strange......Cap was needed to convince black widow to help, killmonger for the final bout with Zola, Thor brought the ultron head for that,Ta'challa for picking the stone and Gamora for infinity crusher Now i dont get why that infinity crusher mislead was required......if not that we wouldn't require Ta'challa and Gamora
13:33 Yeah, tbh, that slightly bothered me too If he can just interfere whenever, does his oath not have consequences? I wonder what the Watcher(s?) is like in the comics Felt like things were just happening without... I dunno Also, I'm kinda curious what happened to those universes Ultron conquered Are they erased from the multiverse or just left barren (devoid of life)? If it's the latter, does that event become part of the timeline of that universe where, at some point, Ultron comes and erases all life, and then it just loops back Or in that case, thinking about it... hmmm Nevermind, I guess I still don't understand the MCU's version of multiverse theory completely yet Maybe I should rewatch Loki lol
This Season Finale? *Glorious* I can't wait for Season 2. Also, if you're confused about the placement of Ragnarok Tony Stark and Mad Titan Gamora in this episode, it was originally supposed to be a part of the first season as an episode. But, because of Covid and time constraints, that episode will be delayed to Season 2. I also cannot wait for the eventual live-action debut of Jeffrey Wright as Uatu (The Watcher). Also, rest in paradise, Chadwick Boseman. This episode of What If was his official final onscreen performance and appearance.
In the comics, The Watchers used to roam the Galaxy, teaching younger races the secrets of nuclear energy. They returned to a planet that used it to obliterate each other. That is when they swore the oath to never interfere again.
The reason The Watchers can't interfere is because they're forbidden to from higher powers (Eternity/Infinity/The Living Tribunal) from making a situation in the multiverse worse (Like what Strange did) in this situation he was involved because Ultron attacked him directly and put everything in danger he was just defending himself and even then he didn't involve himself in the situation directly so there was a loophole there.
The main lesson I've gotten from all of these is that now that Dr. Strange messed with the multiverse in End Game, no one can even begin to guess what's going to happen in the upcoming movie. It's going to be a blast.
suggestion. you could put a small tripod on the table and have the camera shoot at the 90 degree angle of your sectional. that way both you can jen can sit on each side of the corner and still both be in frame and talk to each other after each episode vs just solei each of you talking straight to the camera. that way you dont have to edit all the passing the cam back and forth or making sure ur holding it steady... ect ect. just a thought since you have that style of sectional couch you could really take advantage of it as to give ur final thoughts segment a more podcast feel. plus your dialog between you and jen can flow better because theres no need to pause what ur saying to pass the camera to each other. just a thought.

I feel like you missed the credit scene purely because I'm sure you'd have shown it if you had seen it! worth going back to check it out :)
I think you guys missed the post credit scene
The only thing better then watching the episode itself, is watching you and Jen react to it!
The new world widow is in is the world where hank pym killed everyone.
Did u guys watch the post credit scene?
I think the last line was the watcher saying he’s going to stop just watching with the “now I will protect it to the end”. Now actively protecting the multiverse? Idk tho
Against Galactus I guess?
@@dm_dude honestly kang first one that came to my mind just bc we’ve seen him. But I’m not well-versed in the comics so idk if kang is a danger to the multiverse or something
Hey, Holden and Jen! It all comes down to this! Here's my take on the "What If...?" finale:
As this episode revisits all others, the cast is stacked with MCU regulars and the usual suspects for substitutes with one new addition.
You guys have the best reactions!!! LOVE YOU BOTH!!!
The watcher didn't bring Nat to just a different world in general, it was the one where Loki took over after Hank Pym killed the avengers and when nick fury unfroze Captain America and called Captain Marvel
That Dexter shirt explains absolutely everything about Jen’s love for villains.. it all makes sense now..
You guys missed the post-credits scene!
Finally I was waiting for this reaction for a long time thanks!
About time. Can't wait to see your thoughts in the finale.
Holden: “We were in Boston" Me: “You were in the dog?"
When killmonger powers up after gaining the stones i think that was a reference to michael b jordan liking anime
Everyone had a role to play, even party Thor and Killmonger.
Wait but the post credit scene
PLEASE. For the love of GOD. At least put a photo album of Jen's tshirts. Best I've ever seen
The part at the start with Ego was interesting, because that was Peter Quill he was draining. Since he didn't become Star Lord, he ended up working at that Dairy Queen in his home town.
Cant wait for Jen to watch Eternals and experience the feeling of waiting for the next movie for months like we did. ONE OF US!
hopefully you guys get around to invincible soon!
Holden there is a post credit scene
Jenn needs to watch the greatest Animated Series of all time. Avatar the Last Airbender
Watcher acts like the Beyonder choosing heroes to fight in Secret Wars.
Yeah he took widow to the universe where the Avengers were killed before they became the Avengers.
Finally!!! Your Guys Reaction Is Out. Can't Wait To Watch It :D
The Watcher place Black Widow into the universe from episode 3 where Hank Pym killed all the Avengers besides Cap.
The Boston in Boston picture was fantastic lmao.
Where is the post credit scene
Holden: "I don't understand the whole thing with the Watcher saying he can't interfere, but he does interfere?"
Comic Geeks: Welcome to the club
Thats awesome, I live in Boston! hope you guys had a good time!
Cool episode and all, but what happened to zombie thanos?
The ending for black widow makes me wonder if they’re going to eventually bring her back into the MCU
You guys missed the mid-credit scene.
They never really explained how or why Black Widow was so powered up in this series. Was she a super soldier in her world AND a mimic like taskmaster.
The real question is where is zombie thanos
It was less than a year ago when you reached 100k subs. Now, you are on the 200k subs. Congratulations Holden!
Not everyone was chosen for their fighting skills except Strange......Cap was needed to convince black widow to help, killmonger for the final bout with Zola, Thor brought the ultron head for that,Ta'challa for picking the stone and Gamora for infinity crusher
Now i dont get why that infinity crusher mislead was required......if not that we wouldn't require Ta'challa and Gamora
13:33
Yeah, tbh, that slightly bothered me too
If he can just interfere whenever, does his oath not have consequences? I wonder what the Watcher(s?) is like in the comics
Felt like things were just happening without... I dunno
Also, I'm kinda curious what happened to those universes Ultron conquered
Are they erased from the multiverse or just left barren (devoid of life)? If it's the latter, does that event become part of the timeline of that universe where, at some point, Ultron comes and erases all life, and then it just loops back
Or in that case, thinking about it... hmmm
Nevermind, I guess I still don't understand the MCU's version of multiverse theory completely yet
Maybe I should rewatch Loki lol
This Season Finale?
*Glorious*
I can't wait for Season 2.
I quite liked this episode, can’t wait to watch your reactions 😁
Same not favorite episode but still pretty damn good
post credit scene?!?1
Man, this episode would have been so much better if it were longer
In the comics, The Watchers used to roam the Galaxy, teaching younger races the secrets of nuclear energy. They returned to a planet that used it to obliterate each other. That is when they swore the oath to never interfere again.
Lol don’t think I missed Boston sliding in down there I saw that
The reason The Watchers can't interfere is because they're forbidden to from higher powers (Eternity/Infinity/The Living Tribunal) from making a situation in the multiverse worse (Like what Strange did) in this situation he was involved because Ultron attacked him directly and put everything in danger he was just defending himself and even then he didn't involve himself in the situation directly so there was a loophole there.
you guys missed the season 2 tease at the mid cred scene. YOU NEED TO WATCH IT!!!
Yea, the watcher put black widow into the universe where hank killed all the avengers, including black widow
My son was born 2 months ago and we named him Holden! You sir have a good name
