I genuinely loved this game as a kid. Loved the environments. Had a great time. It was intense. I should go back to give a go when i have the time.

As someone who enjoyed the original Powerdrome on PC, this PS2 version reminds me more of another racing game I really enjoyed - Star Wars: Episode 1 - Podracer. I almost wonder if any part of the Power Drome team had worked on that earlier game. The setting depths, the mysteries of the worlds around you, it all fits, and I really think there’s some kind of evolution going on between Podracer and this, even down to the interesting similarity of the skill-based risk/reward boost systems.

I agree. Having played Pod Racer a lot as a kid, the enchanting atmosphere is noticeably similar to PowerDrome

This game is pretty much a hidden gem. Despite that it’s probably one of my favorite futuristic racing games. The graphics looks great especially on the OG Xbox(even on 480p) and PC. And I did love the sense of speed when u was going fast on your blade. And the atmosphere feels lovely. Overall, for a budget racing title, Powerdrome is a suprisingly good futuristic racing game that is pretty cheap. And is highly recommended if you’re a fan of Futuristic racing games and it’s pretty addictive.

I got this game with a bunch of other ps2 games for free from one of my coworkers, and I assumed it would be terrible looking at the box art, but I absolutely loved it once I played it, and I needed to go find some videos about it. So thanks for making one!

If you want to know more about the setting and characters, there's PLENTY of detail in the manual. This was back when games had manuals.

Thank you for highlighting and singing praises to this amazing game with its unique gameplay design, beautiful detailed tracks and great sense of speed. PowerDrome is far better than Wipeout Fusion on the PS2 and is sorely underrated. (You are absolutely right that the butt ugly box art does it no favors.) I am glad I am no longer alone in preaching this game's merits. I was beginning to think I was going mad. I have wondered for years why nobody else could appreciate how good this game truly is.

Addy, the soundtrack is available to listen to on TH-cam. In fact, PowerDrome OST has it's own channel.
    So go check it out.

I couldn't find it the first time, and I have no idea why. Thank you

I really dislike boost blur, but I really like the PC version's water and reflections, and the overall visual aesthetic seems excellent. They really did everything they could with what they had, things made like that tend to hold up well.

It's a shame the passion and effort didn't translate to sales
