Panama II - San Blas, Nitrocity and try to kitesurf / Sailing Aquarius #28

- We keep exploring Panama while we wait our big day when we transit Panama Canal and we sail to San Blas Archipelago - what a treat to see indigenous tribe that saved their culture the best in all the Americas! What a place and what a people! Meanwhile Zivile's mother leaves and instead of two friends only one is allowed to come to Panama... Oh well.. we do the best we can to stick to our plan to learn kitesurfing, but weather is not cooperating at all. We visit Nitrocity in Panama, explore local places around the marina and finally give up and go to spend the rest of time in Panama City and have some fun. Join us!
P.S. We safely and successfully crossed pacific Ocean and now living in paradise with very limited and very slow internet... Join us!

Nice. Born and raised there in the former Canal Zone. Shelter Bay. (Fort Sherman). Looks like that’s where they moved the Cristobal Yacht Club. A lot of us kids hung out there, walked the breakwall, fished, surfed. On the other side was Coco Solo. It’s gone now. Just a great big container port. High school is still there, but that’s about it. Countless hours on those piers fishing. Used to go down to San Blas as well. Dad grew up with the Kunas. Fun stuff. Nice Vid.

Great vlog! Did you utilize the services of an agent for the Panama Canal access or did you execute the paper work yourself?
Yes, we used Joe Bravo as our Agent through the Panama Canal.. Joe did a good for us, and was very responsive. We met a few boats that had their entry date delayed several times. We were lucky! I wouldn't have changed a thing..... EXCEPT... After I was through the canal, I would not have stayed at Balboa YC. I would go to La Playita and drop the hook. Pay La Playita the $50 per week for dinghy parking. This is safer than the mooring balls with working boats racing in and out of Balboa YC. We were hit by one of them.
I-405. ROFL. Southern Californians will certainly understand this one. For anyone else, just imagine 6 lanes of stop and go traffic...

Pity our two Amel's are circumnavigating at the exact same time at exact opposite sides of the world (we're in Indian Ocean right now) so we will not meet up soon. Hopefully we do catch up some day.
