I feel like I’m the only one who prefers this one, the duet was cute and all but it was a simple love duet and we already had the love duet with “dance with you”, this one not only furthers the story but also creates this nice contrast with the straight couples and builds up excitement for the prom
i think i prefer the more sustained narrative the atlanta version offers emma and alyssa especially but this reworked number is catchy and does help establish a more agreeable/sympathetic side of the other students

The newer version definitely stops the show and it becomes super slow. The original version kept the show running at least
