Finally it's time that I end my sea life and go back home for a much awaited break.
In this video, I will walk you all through my last moments on the ship followed by a quick tour of Amsterdam where I got to visit some beautiful monuments. Towards the end I have vlogged my entire journey from Amsterdam to India & then meeting my family.
This day is the best day in the life of a merchant navy seafarer, and nothing can beat these short moments not even the beautiful sunsets/sunrises. I hope I added value from this life at sea series to you all & a big thank you to the KSN community for makingme reach 100,000 Subscribers. It could not have been possible without you all.

Signing off a vessel and heading home is touted as the best day in the life of a seafarer. What encompasses you is a feeling of both relief and freedom. Possibly the best 'shore leave' knowing that you don't have to rush back for cargo watch if one does get to stay in a hotel before taking a flight. Enjoy your vacation and hope time crawls for you. Maybe it is many years away, but there will come a day in your life that will leave you with a heavy heart - the day you choose to quit sailing and you step off the last ship of your career at sea. That will be the 'mother' of all sign offs !!

It was an emotional yet so exciting and amazing vlog. The whole series was too good that finding one favourite episode is quite difficult. Every episode of this series was wonderful. Filming and editing of the video is the best as always. Apart from knowledge for the sailors your videos are full of life lessons too...Emotional Ups and Downs...When the sign off was delayed you handled it really well although we know how depressing it was... That one incident only made us learn so many crucial things in our life that how everything will not go according to us and we have to never stop working and keep going... And there were many learnings like this from the whole series... Thankyou for bringing this series to us!!!

Too right. The last time you leave for shore is aLways difficult especially when you’ve served with a great crew and made good friends you’ll never forget. Some of the best people I know are those I’ve met on cargo ships. You make friends from all over the world, from all different cultures and countries but we all share a common interest which is life at sea than most others just won’t understand unless they’ve done it themselves.

Got as far as getting a Z-card as a Medical Service officer. Plans never did pan out. American fleet is very difficult to get into. Instead, got married before I had a chance to chase my dreams.
Now looking at retirement, and hoping to take a Cargo Ship Voyage. Then if the Covid situation ever ends.

@@KaranvirSinghNayyar You might not realize it yet, but these are probably some of the best times of your life. As you get older, you will have to face many challenges. Parents getting older, getting married, responsibilities you might have never foreseen. Do yourself a favor, get on the bike and go. Make no plans, just go where the road takes you. Some of the best motorcycle trips were without any itinerary.
Life is way too short.
Maybe someday will meet up. Still have that wanderlust in me.
