My favorite Flight experience was coming home from a deployment, our airplane got 3 flat tires while landing in Kuwait. Instead of bringing another plane over, they had a plane bring tires for the plane, which got turned around for mechanical issues while heading over the ocean. We were delayed from returning home for 17 days. Nothing like spending a year in Iraq, and then have to tell your loved ones that you don't know when you will be home.

Matt is awesome, I've met him 3 times now... I'm from northern Indiana and I was going to try to make it but I couldn't get off work with such short notice
I feel your pain. I have ran through airports to make a connection only to find that the plane had left 15 minutes BEFORE the scheduled departure time. I knew that the flight had to have been full and was overbooked and because I hadn’t been there 30 minutes before the flight, a physical impossibility since my previous flight was delayed, my seat was given away so that they could leave early. I have had so many bad experiences that could fill a book. The worst was a 12 hour delay in New Orleans for a part that had to come from Dallas, less than a 2 hour flight, while waiting for our airplane to San Antonio to be repaired. We ended up getting told the part is on it’s way multiple times and spending the night at the airport. Because of all the seating at the gates having arms to discourage people lying down, we rearranged the rows for our comfort to create longer stretches. It was American of course each time.
12 hour delay? That’s not a delay that’s a cancellation without admission to fault lol.

Hey Matt... With as many of ya'll that travel together in Groups you should really look into an Air Taxi Service and have a Private Jet all to yourselves that flies Direct and at your specific timeframe. Which most times an Air Taxi is also Cheaper than a group of you individually flying on commercial airlines when the cost is divided by the group equally... Plus, it's a Tax Write-off as a Business Expense~!

I used to work in a callcenter doing bookings for travel, which was mostly fights (edit: I meant "flights" lol) but we could book anything anywhere, and personally distinctly remember having a lot of calls dealing with American Airlines rescheduling or canceling or delaying flights on people. it happens with every airline, but AA was the one I remember most for just the volume of calls about that kind of problem. This was almost 10 years ago, so it sounds to me like nothing has changed there.

Back in the late 80s or early 90s (I can't remember) American had us change planes on the runway because they were running behind. This was in Gander, Newfoundland in the dead of winter in a winter storm. 60 seconds after we got up the stairs and closed the doors, they started de-icing the plane for an hour. We were all soaked and freezing because we got 6 inches of snow on us while trudging through the snow storm on the runway. Most of us had our heavy coats in the baggage because we left from southern Georgia.

Traveling for my company, myself and 4 others got to airport early, waited patiently and got suspicious when our flight time was close and no announcements for loading. Then found out they changed gates, not just gates, but to another part of the airport. We ran, but missed the flight. Got booked on next flight, and guess what? They tried the same thing, but we were on to them. Finally made it to our destination and walked into meeting just as it was starting.
Hopeful that your family and friends make it there to support you, the kids will surely love this. Looking forward to the videos.
You should get an AA door and test it on the ranch. That way you can give them great PR on the main channel too.

Matt!! The same thing happened to me last year on American. I spoke at a conference in San Antonio and was flying back to Cali. My connecting flight was in Phoenix (there were about 20 of us who had to get the connecting flight). Long story short, they were delayed in taking off in Texas. We landed about 20 minutes later than expected. We arrived at our next terminal, after running for what felt like a mile, as they were shutting the outside door. They wouldn’t let us on. 5 hours later, we all got on the next flight.
So happy to be retired after a long career of frequent flying. Your description of running from one terminal to the other only to discover the flight was delayed by hours is still too fresh in my mind. I often was in a suit with dress shoes and ended with bleeding blisters waiting for that messed up flight to nowhere. I'm sooo happy to not need to travel during this pandemic with all the staff off sick.
Going to fort Hood Texas same thing happened to me and 6 other soldiers no hotel room even tho it was their fault so we had to sleep in the chapel at Dallas - Fort Worth airport. Nice looking out non-American Airlines. #AASUCKS

My wife’s friend and her husband booked a flight on American to St. Vincent in the Caribbean. Unbeknownst to them, American rebooked their return flight to a different airport. It was only 50 miles away -on another island. They had to charter a private airplane to get them to the other airport in order to catch their flight home.

Your airline troubled sound like one of my flights a few years ago. I was flying from LA to Columbus through DC. We were delayed leaving LA which gave me a super tight connection in DC, so I was sprinting through the airport (in dress shoes nonetheless) got to my plane right after they closed the door, but then the pilot radioed back that they were getting everyone off due to a mechanical issue. Once they got a new plane for us and we boarded, as we're about to push back, 15-20 police cars surround the plane as SWAT boards the plane in full tactical gear to get a passenger off for questioning because she went back on the old plane without permission to get her purse, which she forgot.
That's a crazy story, must have been quite intimidating untill you got to know the cause, which was so silly

Full on SWAT team for a purse? Geez, seems excessive, but these days with security having to be EXTREME I guess. Still, I wonder what that cost the tax payers..because a woman forgot her purse and went back for it. I'd go back for mine too. No one touches my purse. Then again, I wouldn't forget my purse.

I typically fly over 100,000 miles per year. I can tell you United changed their policy a few years ago to delay their flights so people who are a few minutes late can get on the plane. American does not.

I feel really bad for Matt, but also a bit refreshing to know I’m not the only one who has massive tragedies with flight arrangements when you need to be somewhere.
Went on my sons Make A Wish trip back in April, and we were delayed in Grand Rapids, MI, went got us to Atlanta late. Needless to say, we came in through one terminal, and were flying out of the very last gate in A terminal (going to Key West). I stopped to get us something to drink, and ended up having to run to our gate. As soon as I walked onto the plane, they closed the doors. Atlanta is a huge airport. I feel your pain. lol

I'm already subbed to V2 Vids. He also does RC stuff. It's like what you can do with a RC by doing flips can translate to the trucks. My friend told me years ago about how dirt bikes have been using the throttle and brake to correct pitch while in the air. He told me this stuff back in the 80's so it's been around for a long time.

So the APU was broken on the plane & the next airport didn't have an external power unit. That's super reassuring to know before getting on an airplane.
Edit: If the plane was to go into emergency, the APU is the first thing you're supposed to start to keep power.
the aux power unit... All it does it supply power before the engines are running, in order to get the engines running... The apu shouldn't matter once the engines are on, so why would that bother you?
Apu isn't required for anything. They have shore power to do the same thing.

Sounds like some good reasons to avoid using American Airlines whenever possible.
We used the have a nitrogen tire filling machine at the tire shop I worked at. It did not have an internal nitrogen canister, only a filter(just filter out everything but nitrogen from the atmosphere) it would purge out all the air in all 4 tires and refill with nitrogen...which is really helpful for cars with tire pressure sensors. Keeps moisture out of em. But I always assumed something similar cold be used for these shocks.

Have you watched any of his videos? Matt really isn't that good of a shot I mean he is ok at very close ranges but if you watch his videos he's really not that good of a shot he's more of an "entertainment value" shooter versus a competition shooter.
