60 Minutes, the most successful American television broadcast in history, began its 52nd season in September. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 is still a hit in 2020. 60 Minutes makes Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 nearly every week and was the #1 weekly television broadcast three times last season.

About a million more people listen to the 60 Minutes radio simulcast in several major cities and on its companion podcast. Tens of thousands each week experience 60 Minutes online. The broadcast’s segments can be watched at 60Minutes.com and on the CBS All Access app. Its webcast, 60MinutesOvertime.com, offers content originally produced for the web, including behind-the-scenes video about the production of 60 Minutes stories and timely archival segments.

The training staff tried to shield him from seeing the severity of his injury, even his teammates around him.... The look of shock and hurt on Coach K and Coach P, and the aftermath of Kevin’s injury, is something you never forget and it was the same with Alex’s injury as pictures shown after the infection was taking over his leg, I’ve never before, before Alex, seen anyone comeback from a near debilitating leg injury like this.....

One of my favorite athletes of all time. As a die-hard 49ers fan, I never felt that Alex got a fair shake, even when things were going well, the team didn't fully appreciate this guy as a player and as a person. On the field, I thought he was at his best a very efficient player, with some really good athleticism to go with it. Off the field, he was one of the smartest and classiest acts to ever play the game. This final chapter showed us all that the guy also has the guts and heart of a champion. As many have stated, the Comeback Player of the Year award should from this point forward be named, "The Alex Smith Comeback Player of the Year Award". Best of luck in whatever you decide to do Alex! Thanks for always giving us your best on and off the field.

Glade he was even able to get back on his feet again, but getting back to where he was before that injury is going to
be a huge challenge for sure. After watching how he struggled with his leg I have my doubts he can actually do it.
If those issues he is having with his leg doesn't improve soon I think it may be better for him to just retire, whenever
he takes a hit or gets sacked everyone just takes a deep breath hoping he is ok and will get up. I think Ron Rivera
will make all of the QB's on the roster compete for the job of starter next season, that is if they don't draft or get a
a new QB in free agency in 2021.

Here's what makes Alex Smith the comeback player of the year
    - He almost died
    - His leg was almost amputated
    - The injury looked as bad as Joe Theisman's injury, probably worse
    - He was projected to never play football again
    - He led Washington to the division title
That's enough, idc what Ben Roethlisberger did, Alex Smith is unanimous CPOY

Mahones also said he learned a ton from a guy who was in the playoffs with the 49ers. Kap said the same thing. People thought he was a bust. Now the 49ers should have taken Rodgers without question. But smith turned out to be a good quarterback. Had some down years early but a solid nfl qb nonetheless

I'm absolutely no fan of the DC Racial Slurs.
But I have to give all fair and due proper respect to Dan Snyder [and owner that I absolutely loathe] for the way the whole organization has handled the Alex Smith situation. It was a moral and ethical thing to do and I offer a respectful tip of an old cavalryman's Stetson to them.
As for Alex and the Smith family, I hope you have health and success. Watching you walk out on the field versus the Rams was one of those 'yeah, there really are Football Gods' moments.
And I'm not the only football fan to see a direct correlation between Alex and Dak Prescott, either.
