Thank you for this review. Several reviews mostly focus limitations in contrast to advanced DSLRs. That's helpful, but I'm looking for a lightweight, budget vlogging camera to take on travels, not create a blockbuster film. This camera seems to fit the job.

First start of 2023, a wonderful sound.
I love my ZV1F. It has a 15.8 mm chip in it. Some reviewers say that it has a 1 inch sensor. It does not. I didn't hear you say 1 inch, eh, I jumped around. Fun camera. I wish that it was larger! Great review. Looks cold up there! It was 104 here in New Mexico yesterday.
Thanks for this sir. I am shooting with my samsung a73 for my drawing videos. I really wanted a small handy camera with good video but on a cheaper price range. Thank you. I don't understand why this camera is mostly hated with reviews. Each of us has different needs. This camera is clearly for me.

Hi Greg, great review, I was wondering if you might be able to provide some suggestions for a camera under $700 that might be good for vlogging, good for photography, and has some good zoom capabilities. Let me know your thoughts.
Can it use usb-c microfones and audio decs?
I always use my iPhone, because i haven‘t found a camera that does.
Would you recommend this camera for gym pictures and short gym videos?
I’m nervous about what Sony is about announce next with the ZV series. Too many neg for the zv1f but the FF ZV will make me think real hard.
i doubt there will be a full frame ZV. My guess would be a ZV-2 would have a wider lens to start and maybe higher megapixels. But i cant see much else.

yeah it has its limitations, but does good for the market its going after.

Thanks Greg, new follower here I am wondering if it will blue tooth and add an external Mic? I know it has a Mic Jack but for video Sound farther away than the cord allows?
doesn't do bluetooth audio, but it does support standard wireless mics. We have reviewed a lot of wireless mics on the channel. These are way better than anything a Bluetooth mic can provide. Bluetooth just doesn't have great distance or quality.

Looking to use this for talking head
Greg I'm curious, what did you see that makes you think that there is no gyro data in the video? From what I've seen the ZV1F does produce gyro data; there are some reviewers that report being able to do some pretty impressive stabilization in Catalyst Pro.
it was because the Sony Rep actually told me that. And when you tried to stabilize the ZV1F footage with Catalyst browse (at the time of shooting) it couldnt stabilize the footage from the camera. But with a recent upgrade it now works.
Would this be recommended for overhead work? Like a workshop or kitchen setup?
i use a zv-e10 but i would think that this camera would work great.
Do you recommend this for pictures I’m not a photographer I’m just looking for a nice camera to take pictures of my job site progress and videos here and there.

I bought my Sony ZV1 and didn't like it. When the camera is filming your face, it's incredible, but when you need to take shots of landscapes, you have to walk very slowly; otherwise, the video gets blurry, this is very sux. I expected more in terms of that.
Could this be used as a Top camera?
for sure. i use the Zv-1 as a top camera, but ive use the ZV-1F before and it worked very well.
They should have just made the lens cover slidable or rotatable downwards. That would be better for easy and fast usability. Loose parts are not handy.
im sure it has to do with keeping the price down.

They had to design this click-on system as well. If anything I think something sliding or rotating would probably be about the same or possibly even cheaper in production.
@@RA-el6zj They didint havt to design anything. its a standard cap mount with thread that is used in pretty much every mirrorless and SLR camera that has been out for the past 40+ years. If you want something better than go to the Zv-1 with its motorized lens cover.

However, beware of the motorized lens noise when filming with the ZV-1😉
This camera is useless in rainy condition. Location of mic on top of camera will collect rain water that will damage the camera.
this isnt a weatherproof camera, so any camera that isnt weatherproof will have issues with rain.
