Im still living in my parent’s house. All the books in my room could not fit in this small space. Im only 21, so im not nearly done.

That’s plenty of space for books by a desk. There’s tons of other places to put books in that house.
The design and remodeling is just secondary. The people’s gratefulness from within their hearts pierce the viewers’ hearts. It’s precious, priceless, and praiseworthy. Chip and jo do an amazing job at wht they do. Even if the kitchen could b on the wrong floor. Nothing has to b perfect. Both still can pull it together. Im blown away by the work they do. Chip and jo may God bless u and ur family.

Dining room is great for outside cookout and family reunions. They do what buyer wants!

The owner lied to them...... They moved out and rented it out to airb&b
That's what you see. There are hundreds of hours of edited footage not seen. they make it look like magic, but it's months of labor and discussion about hometype, fixtures, etc.

@@whatever5922 Yes they did. If you look up some of these places you'll see that most of them have been sold for very large sums, or they are being rented on ABB. There were quite a few people that didn't want them coming to their neighborhood because then prices would go up and so would the taxes.
@@annabodhi38 how does that work though? Doesn't one's property value depend on the extra things you've added to your property? How can that influence my neighbours property that is a dump? I'm curious about this because I came across Joanna and Chip in 2019 and when I searched for some of the houses they did in their earlier seasons,I did notice that the houses are up for sale/sold.
@@siphokazileratomalinga2969 Property taxes in US are calculated by neighborhood. And the town council determines the boundary of your "neighborhood". The tax per house is determined by the average sales price of homes in your neighborhood, per square foot, then times square feet of your home. If your neighbor sells for a lot of money, even if your house is still a dump, your neighborhood property taxes go up.

I wonder why they sold this house, they even included the table. I seen it on the market like a year ago.
I feel their idea was not to live in it but to sell it. It’s now an amazing Airbnb
A lot of thise peoples sold those properties! Just for being part of the program is income right there!. The "gunshot" almost little house was for renting first, I think the sold it too!.... taking advantages!!🤷🏻♀️

Its just like any town home with the kitchen on the second floor. I can see why people don't like it, but this is one of the best transformations!

It's a beautiful renovation! Although I do find it odd that the kitchen and living space is 'upstairs', and bedrooms and a dining hall on main floor.

@@arianna.x.lopez.9685 Just curious where have you seen a kitchen in a 2 story house? Every house I've ever looked at over the yrs, and I've done 4 major moves to different States, it's on the 1st floor. Only exception I can thnk of is a Carriage House Garage structure or something that had an inlaw or bar/rec room on the second floor
It looks like they had budgetary restrictions. Sometimes certain layout changes just don’t fit in the budget. So the kitchen was already there, and they had the money to fix it up, but not move it.
The dining area downstairs is not practical because the kitchen is upstairs. But well , its just me.
Gabriel Gaudiario it actually is. If you open up the doors and your grilling outside for a family bbq then you can get the whole family to eat there rather than be bunched up upstairs

Not a fan of the set up at all. Who the hell wants to carry hot platters of food down the steps. Ridiculous
Yea, but will only use it a few times a year for holidays or birthdays. Most of the time the family will use the table upstairs.
It would drive me nuts to haul groceries up those steps to the kitchen, and it would annoy me to have to take the kitchen trash out down those steps. What if the bag drips or breaks? Why didn't they just put the kitchen (with an outside door) on the first floor?

Every time they had to haul Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner up and down the stairs they cursed Chip and Jo’s names. I’ve loved every single reno they’d done except this one. Dining room and kitchen belong on the same floor.
I find this very impractical
dining room is in the same space as the kitchen. the only time they would ever use that monster of a table downstairs is for christmas. and at that point there are many and plenty of people who can take it down. this house is gorgeous
jessica rose really good point! Besides parties/entertaining they’ll eat upstairs. So 90% of the time they’re good.
I thought of that myself, however a 16 foot table wouldn’t fit in the upstairs!
They should have added a dumbwaiter.
