You'd have to blame tamashii nations for qc, the subsidiary of bandai that handles their figures production. Now I don't know the difference in qc handling between model kit and figure, but gunpla(which is completely handles by bandai spirits) has little to no qc issues, while figures of the sh line have some hiccups here and there. Still better than takara tho

I'm actually a member of Team Godzilla, mainly due to how much stronger he is *realistically* than Kong. They did give the mantle of plot armour to Kong this time around, but Godzilla's performance proves that he is King.
I have to agree. While Kong has the edge in intelligence, he lacks durability. Especially against the Big-G's atomic breath. Even a slight graze is fatal to Kong. Hense why they gave him an axe.

Plus a lot of the enemies Kong fought didn't breathe fire/atomic breath or have a healing factor/durability. Hense why I always find the whole Godzilla vs Kong debate very one sided logic-wise.

Another great review Jobby and thanks for the Kong joints fix tip. Will need to put it to use on my own. Core joints aren't quite as tight as your copy of the figure, but at that price I ain't taking any chances
I was legit expecting Crisp Rat to often take over the review and be on the side of Kong while Jobby was on Team Godzilla, causing the two to argue and fight. But the funny lizard and monkey puppets work just as well.
The differences with this Godzilla are the head as you mentioned (it's the permanent roaring sculpt used for the Burning Godzilla), a few minor detail differences, and the internal molding (2019 has a ball joint though and though, 2021 has a hole for the arms ball joint) So basically the same figure but with enough minor differences to count as its own thing. Edit: oh my god, I have the exact same issue with the EXACT same arm for Kong
I think the metallic blue paint would work on the Godzilla's mouth if they just didn't apply so much. Its kind of strange to me because the painting for Kong's open mouth head is actually kind of impressive.

Silicone grease is probably a cheaper alternative to what I use to lube up my figure joints. I use 40wt shock oil that I have left over from when I was big into scale RC. Stuff works just as good as the grease, and it seeps into joints really well if you've got something that you don't want to (or can't) take apart. And you don't need much. One or two drops (or less one smaller figures) will take care of a tight joint. So you can get a fuckton of figures buttery smooth with just one bottle. (Seriously, I've had this one bottle for over ten years, haven't even used half of it yet..)
Need that kong to make a what if Godzilla 2004 appeared at the end of GVK defeated MechaGodzilla single handedly, pounded both Kong and Godzilla without breaking a sweat, spat on them and returned to the ocean whispering "pathetic"...

from a close (just looking at screen really closely) i can confirm the nostrils on the 2021 figure are more apparent! and the eye is a tad smaller (the head itself is smaller as they made the head a tad smaller in the movie

A way to tighten ball joint is applied thin layer of thin glue or color it with Sharpie. I use thin glue to tighten IBO Gundam kits if there are loose and remember LIT IT DRY BEFORE YOU PUT IT BACK TOGETHER otherwise it will be too tight or stuck
We all have opinons....and opinons can be wrong... Like the one you just said. His main body looks fantastic. Its only the crimson chin lower jaw that ruins the whole design. Ive seen people fix the whole design by just making the sides of his lower jaw thinner and it looks incredible. But the one we got looks like barney on his way to a AA meeting for drugs.

Watching your older Godzilla reviews and this have finally push me to get both these figures but damn do the prices skyrocket even though they're newly released. I tried to find the 2019 Godzilla, only to find those at crazy prices at auction sites.
When Monsterverse GvK Monsterarts figures went up for pre-order at my local Gamestop(formally EB Games), I grabbed them ASAP. Since S.H. Monsterarts aren't easy to find in my area. And I only paid $80 each for Godzilla and Kong, and $180 for Mecha-G. Don't know why Mecha-G was more expensive?

Cars used it on a figure that had a joint froze all they way, and its thin like water so it works good for stuff like this, just an alternate with the same function.

Speaking of eyes, they were reworked due to closeups of them we'd get in the film. And lastly, the atomic charge up of his tail and fins, was once again changed; it's different in each appearance.
