After returning to golf 7 years ago . Although always good at sports.I found extremely hard work to achieve the postions in golf. After many lessons none of the coaches picked up that my stance was far too wide, which makes it impossible to achieve the positions you need. , unless your super flexible and have great timing. After seeing this video, I narrowed my stance a good 4 inches and Wow. Suddenly the game has become far easier and I’m achieving the correct positions . Everything was at a stretch before and felt very uncomfortable. This simple change has mad the world of difference. Thank you

Alison I was having a very difficult time shifting away from target to be able to POST UP on the trail leg as you point out. (Because it is impossible to make a good turn from a 50-50 wider stance). So I started setting up pre-loaded heavy right. Immediately I was able to make a 110 degree turn and my power and consistency improved greatly. I don't seem to have a problem moving back to the lead side, but are you saying that I can achieve the same kind of full shoulder turn with a Bobby Jones type narrow stance?

Of course. Width of stance has zero to do with torso rotation!

Hi Alison I'm looking for the M2M courses I enjoyed a few years ago, where can I find them now?

I was under the impression that the start of the down swing was a linear move then a rotation.

It is. The linear movement puts your weight onto the lead leg in less than 1/2 a second making hip rotation simple and automatic. When you don’t get completely onto your lead leg rotation of the left hip socket is severely limited, hip rotation speed is decelerated and basically disrupts the entire sequence. #1 problem for amateurs is weight shift both to back and lead hip. The TG Downswing move creates an “automatic” hip rotation versus having to force it or try to make it happen. Narrow stance means less distance to shift weight. So those two things put together make it easier for amateurs to experience what is normal for tour pros.

@@Mind2MotionGolf thank you for the clarification. I have fought weight shift issues for most of my golfing life very frustrating.

@@rickporrazzo2354 Thats every golfers problem. If we try to change it while hitting balls, it wont' work. The driving range isn't a place to learn. It's where we practice what we've already learned. Good luck or take a zoom lesson with me. ;)

When in doubt, get a woman to explain it.
