no, Inio Asano dont use tracing. what he does is that he takes a picture or a 3D render image and edit the image on photoshop to gain a "manga aesthetic" and then he prints it and does various fixes and stylizations and draws the characters in the panel so the art really feels 2D by the end of the process and you can see all of this in the documentary Manben by Naoki Urasawa

Asano could have ended Oyasumi Punpun with Sora (The child of Midori and Yuichi) falling in love with someone or maybe even Sachi's child 10 years later in Harumi's class with the infamous caption "It was love at first sight" I feel like that would be a perfect ending idk.

But that IS the original ending. 10 years later, Harumi introduces a new transfer student to his class and we see Yuichi jr staring at the girl just like Punpun stared at Aiko during his "love at first sight".
The only thing, that's missing is that it doesn't end with the caption "It was love at first sight". The last line the manga closes with is someone telling someone (probably new girl telling Yuichi jr) the same thing Aiko told Punpun in the first chapter :
"...Hey did ya know? Humanity's going to go ustinct."
Edit : I just noticed that the new girl mispronounces "extinct" as "ustinct" the same way Aiko did 10 years ago. The more I think about this manga the more I fall in live with it.
Edit 2 : I also just noticed that the kid is wearing a T-shirt with Ontan on it from Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction. WTF I never saw that.

@@nitinpriyadarshi269 Really, I never realised that was Yuichi's kid as he is never referred to as Sora in the classroom and doesn't have the bird aesthetic so he just looks like a random child and where we leave off Sora is just being born and there is not a time jump so he can't go to school theoretically. Where's the proof that was Sora Yuichi's kid? Plus in the actual physical English manga volumes of punpun it translates to humanity is done for not "ustinct" like the digital version.

@@yeetusweeb5539 Now that I think about it, it might be possible that that was just some random kid. I've always assumed he was Yuichi's son because when he was born he had the God guy in his eye which probably meant he will have the same fate as Punpun, which starts in the last chapter, and it also makes more sense that HE will be the one to go down the path than just some random. I never even thought that it could be just some random kid lol.
Punpun was put on probation, so some time must've passed. But for Sora to go to elementary school, we don't know exactly how much time he was on probation for.
Also, The translation you're talking about is the Viz Omnibus 7 volume edition of the manga. In the first published 13 volume original series it's "ustinction".
I've read both the translations (dead inside), and personally I find the 13 volume one better.
But yeah, you may be right. He may be just a random kid.

3:19 nah you're not talking shit. A small punpun doodle does appear once in between solanin chapters. And Sachi also shows a punpun doodle to punpun in the last chapters, saying she'll make a manga with a mc like that but then says she's joking... So, true on both accounts.

I think this youtuber missinterpret the author. The author saying punpun living is way worse than punpun dying is because that would’ve been too easy of an exit for him. Punpun living has to deal with guilt and painful memories for the rest of his life
