      Yeah I say there's a lot of questions surrounding that particular question... It's not as cut and dry as "Wait X amount of time." It completely depends on the people, how they feel about each other, etc. There's A LOT that goes into it and it definitely can work out. I've seen people get married within a couple of months of meeting and last years.

      Yeah as a kid she went through a lot of therapy. Mostly because of how her parents are extremely religious, and she was brought up that way. Being "not straight" (as she calls it), it was especially hard on her. It's pretty sad seeing how many people end up in therapy over religion...

    I strongly feel that love starts off as a feeling and becomes a choice. I’m a psychology major, and so I know that passion fades fast. If you were to limit yourself to loving someone only when the passion is there, you’ll never find someone to be with long term. You have to make the choice to continue to love someone after the passions subsides. And it’s proven, if you want to love someone more, then act like you love them and you eventually will.

    100% Love is a choice. Attraction is a feeling. I can't choose who I am attracted to but I do choose who I let in and love. And once in a relationship you can't rely on feelings to carry you 50 years. Some days you'll have choose to love that person in the hard times or not and leave them. Feelings come and go and are unreliable. Love is different. Love is a decision..... I think I'm taking this quiz too seriously.

      I love many people and things without choosing to do so but I think love isn’t as simple as a yes or no thing, it’s deeper than a feeling or a choice imo.

    • @hannahover5919
      @hannahover5919 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I agree to a point! To me it’s so much deeper than ether. You have to choice to work hard to make a relationship work but it all starts with some form of attraction. BUT! After that spark fades the hard work comes of speaking someone’s love language and abs so on. So I think it’s more of a choice than a feeling at the end of the day but I guess it depends on how long the attraction/spark lasts?

      I think it's mostly a choice, because feelings and looks fade. And living together with a new person is not an easy thing to do. They'll do things that'll make you question your feeling of love. That's when you have to come back down to Earth and realize they're human too and love them anyway.

    Here's the thing about political beliefs in a relationship; at the end of the day, your political beliefs are your beliefs. Like, they tell you what a person's morals & priorities are. If someone doesn't care about helping people in need, or is careless about finances, that's reflected in their political ideology. If you're a selfish, controlling person, that influences who you vote for. I don't get people who say that a person's politics don't matter to them. Your politics are part of who you are, & they're not only gonna' be showing up if you're talking about the election.

    • @s6ac891
      @s6ac891 5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      I agree politics can be a reflection on the person. I was "it depends" because i don't have a set party i vote for. i do some research and vote for who lines up the most with my current principles and needs. the parties focus and behaviours do change a little depending on whoever is the figurehead at the time, so i try not to hard line myself. my SO and I quite often vote for different parties to each other because our needs are different.
      the last time we voted mostly the same because one party here (australia) in particular put very little information out about what they planned to do and what they stood for and just slammed the opponent and most of it was personal.

    • @apriljk6557
      @apriljk6557 5 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      Yes and for most people, politics are very personal. Everything from healthcare to systemic racism and immigration are incredibly personal and rely on basic ethic and morality.

    • @voxtur7465
      @voxtur7465 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      AdraicStarks that’s booshit. You only feel people of a certain party are moral and care about helping people? That’s very close minded.

    • @abominablyawsm
      @abominablyawsm 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@voxtur7465 It's not bullshit at all. Your personal values and needs define your personal politics. The line isn't necessarily drawn between parties - a Republican and a Democrat can have very similar values and needs, especially if they're both closer to center. But someone who really wanted to vote Bernie and someone who voted Trump are likely going to have very different values and needs. That difference could make a really rocky relationship.

Our story is kind of a sad one I've been in and out of surgery this entire year so I haven't been able to visit him but I hope to be able to visit him soon. I did the thing with starting a relationship with long distance and we are still together now.
    My boyfriend and I knew each other from a boarding school, but didn't become boyfriend and girlfriend until several months after we graduated. So we started out with a long distance relationship, almost 2 hours with train is long distance in Denmark. But we met about 2 times a month, sometimes less. And that lasted for 3 years, and know we finally live together, and have been for the last 1,5 year. Even my dad didn't think it would last this long because of the distance between and our age, started when I was 18 and he was 17.
    I would not trade it for anything. I think the distance between made us appreciate the time together a lot more and made us grow as persons and made our relationship grow even more. When we were long distance we spend more quality time together than we do know, both at University so not much time to quality time.

    The "is flirty texting cheating" question is only so cut and dry when you're in a monogamous relationship--if you're poly, things are more open depending on your rules and communication. To me personally, cheating is marked by the deceit and secrecy. If my partner is flirting with someone and I know and I'm chill with it? Not cheating. If they're flirting with someone and I don't know??? That's cheating.

    • @s6ac891
      @s6ac891 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      i agree sometimes context is needed like what constitutes a flirt text and what is the context as well. if you can't or won't be okay with your s.o seeing them then that is a red flag and then some.
      i mean my best friend and i sometimes send "i love you, i miss you" texts. if anyone other than my best friend or s.o (he knows we're close and that we say love you) saw those they may assume there is something going on. but we're not flirting. we do love each other (we consider each other family) and we don't get to see each other much as we now live in different states.

    • @Eventide215
      @Eventide215 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I agree completely with you. I don't mind my SO being flirtatious with other people. I don't even really mind if they're with someone else sexually as long as it's not deceitful or in secret. Like seriously if they just tell me about it, I'm perfectly fine with it. I don't mean they have to like announce that they're going to be flirting with someone, but that they shouldn't hide it either. I think people put WAY too much pressure on relationships... acting like once you're with someone you're supposed to only be with that person for the rest of your life. Or acting like you're never allowed to even look at another human being suddenly. I think a lot of it comes from a lack of communication and predetermined rules though. People seem to just assume or think their SO is a mind reader...

It’s so dangerous how divided our country has become and we really do need to reign it back in to the middle and stop all this senseless fighting that is fueled very much by pride. I’ve been making a conscious effort to move towards a more moderate position and listen to more perspectives. So to just disregard anyone who considers themselves moderate or on the other end of the spectrum is very much exasperating the division of our country.

    I absolutely agree about the feeling vs. choice. Attraction and falling in love is 100% feeling, but once you are in love and in an established relationship, you have to choose to love that person every day. Obviously the feeling is still there, but some days are harder than others. Every couple goes through hard times and rough patches, and when you get to those moments you have to consciously fight for your relationship. It doesn't matter how much you love your partner, if you choose to stop fighting for them, you will not last.

    Saying yes to being in a long distance relationship is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! It definitely was difficult to be apart so much, but when it’s the right person, it’s so worth it. We were apart for a little over a year (we are from different countries & I needed to get a visa, which took a while to get) but later this month we are celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary ❤️ so don’t be afraid to be with someone just because of distance, they may absolutely be worth every mile between you!

    Even the discussion of getting back with an ex depends on what we broke up over. There are 3 things that I can’t forgive. You can’t cheat on me, you can’t hit me/ emotionally abuse me, and you can’t have no ambition. All of those things say that you don’t love me enough to treat me right or set us up for a good life, and I can’t forgive that even if I still love you.

Now we're in a long-distance relationship, but before he left he told me that he'll love me forever, no matter what, and I'm willing to wait for him.

    Started dating my husband the day he left for college 4 hours away from where we grew up. He went to school for 8 years to be a pharmacist and we were long distance the entire time because I had to stay close to home to do my schooling for financial reasons. We started dating in 2007 and we are happily married now with a beautiful baby boy. Long distance can work if you know the other person is worth the wait.

      @@Parisroam Typically kids aren't really raised with politics in mind. My parents have completely different views politically, but they also aren't really into politics. It's only in the past like 5 years that my dad has gotten extremely into politics... and not the smart kind... he reads stupid things online and believes them 100%, but that's another story. I was always raised away from anything political and allowed to have my own views on just about anything. When it comes to politics, I don't align with any party, I'm neutral. I only look at what the current people are fighting for and so on. If I agree with it, I'll lean that way. I think there's huge issues with politics because people try to force themselves into parties and then act like they're not allowed to like anyone that isn't a part of that party...

      Paris Roam they told me both of their sides, but there was never any pressure to choose. My mother is very democratic and voted for Hillary and my father is a republican and voted for trump. It just helped me understand the pros and cons to each side, and made me think if there is a middle ground. I ended up agreeing more with my mother, but my dad is not a crazy trump supporter. He is very modest and just liked trumps business tactics because he is a small business owner. They were both great parents and are still very happy together! 😊

My now husband is in the military and has been for 4 of the 5 years we've been together. 6 months ago we got married after he came home from being over seas for 2 years but before that we only spent 3 months total together minus the year before he went into the service.
