Never noticed previously, but since the TR adopted those new fangled continuous brakes, drivers clearly feel safer coming into the platform a sight faster than they did when I was last up that way, over a half century ago. Usually a dyed in the wool 'TR bronze green' man, I have to confess I absolutely LOVE No.4's lined grey and from the sound of the beat, Aberystwyth did a bang up job on the overhaul. we do still overhaul our locos, No.2s most recent was done in house, however the facilitys at pendre arent ideal which is why pendre is due to be redeveloped as part of the the 75 appeal

Why don’t the TR build their own coaches anymore and overhaul their own locos ?
