The Maids performing one of their (two) most performed songs: Freedom and Real Existence. The Maids in this MV are pure perfection, aren't they? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure, imo! Thanks, JM, for bringing the world's best hard rock band to your viewers!
@@GaryHolloway-810 I'll make sure to pass that important request along to JM. 🗣JM, "Don't You Tell Me" has been in the Top 10 most played live forever. That'd be a good song to react to, wouldn't it. Yes sir it surely would. 🫡
This is rare for Akane. She's like Ringo. There's only a solo or two to be see. Her real forte is unusual time signatures. And they're always changing. It may change verse to verse or even within the same measure. She's may set you up with a pattern or two , but then she breaks expectations. She and MISA met at the Tokyo School Of Music, so she is Classically trained. But it's not a metronome or click track, it's backing tracks. Whatever they can't play LIVE Kanami puts on the backing tracks so it's more like the Album Version. All the keys and synths, etc....
Dude.....I could tell when you tried to compliment BM fans and ended up putting your foot in your mouth. And then you get to the drum solo.....and I went oh know !!!!!! Im also a drummer...and you missed out on the most important part on what makes this a great solo!! Akani does not miss a beat and stays in perfect time and when she comes out of it into the guitar solo it's seamless !!! If you want to see her shred ....check out Shambles But this song is a fan favorite and is a real feel good upbeat tune
Great reactor / performance screen ratio, JM! However, you could push that playback volume handle up a few notches, imo! Regarding solos: You'll notice when the Maids perform solos that, rather than trying to blow people away, or play beyond the sensibilities or feeling of the song, they play exactly what services the song in technicality and duration. Very mature writing! 🫡🤘
I guarantee you that Akane is using her foot to keep that metronome beat. If you have any doubts about her skills I'd recommend a live twofer video of "Manners and Black Hole." The two songs are very different and if you listen closely to Manners" what Akane is doing in the fills and other parts is quite good. She is constantly changing her beats from part to part. In the second one, "Black Hole" the whole thing is at an amazing chaotic speed and it is how she uses her drums to keep and add to that chaotic effect. I have subscribed to you because I like your analysis of what you hear happening and I also like that you give us this big view of the performers and performance. So many others just play it in this little box at the side or corner. So many of us come to hear the performance as well as to listen to your reactions, so it is very nice to see it in a large perspective. I am interested in where your musical journey is going to take me and I do hope that there is more Band Maid in at least some of it. Glad to be traveling with you!
Tbh what's wrong with a song that just sounds good? I'm fed up with technical million note noodle fests & endless 16 note blast beats that sound more like ego wanking without any tune :)
@GaryHolloway-810 I agree.. that's why I said a lot of times the more simpler Solos can arguably be better!.. I mean I like technical chaos if it's tastefully done.. but yes I agree.. and Band maid is a great band!
Maidiacs are a force unto themselves. Some other J rock bands I recommend are: Gacharic Spin, Nemophila, Koiai, NEK!, Lonesome Blue, and from Korea Rolling Quartz. Oh for Akane, it was freedom from the damned "Tiny Hat"!

Hey, thanks for the continued support of the Maids. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
From Now On is a killer instrumental and really shows off their composition ability. Shambles is a recent song that has some her better drum work IMO.
Thanks so much nice reaction!
How about ON SET is the next song?
