Local 7 over here. Did rods for a few days. It's alright, but just not really my favorite thing. Have done 2 days of structural and so far I love every minute of it. Moving the big iron is for me. It takes a bit of time to get used to walking up high on the beams but once you get used to it, it's fun as hell. Can't wait to go back to work on Monday.

@@D95-d7y yeah it's just ALOT of people misconstrue the union. They assume you make top wages automatically. When in reality it's not like that at all. After a 4 year degree with most unions you journey out. Therefore making max wages until wages are re discussed and reconstructed as a union

I did it for 10 years. North Dakota power plants, hospitals etc until a pallet of bricks fell from 4 stories. That was the end of my Ironworking days.

They're defiantly getting more than $25 an hour lol, its all unionized, they're likely making $35 hr at the minimum.
