That happens in all parts of trucking, even in tankers like I haul, some shippers find any reason to reject your trailer, either it’s the end of the day,and they’re ready to go home,or the day before a holiday. I’ve had that happen before.
Hey Justin. Just want to say first of all, love your videos and love how you and the family have so much fun together and how you and your wife are really great with your children, and showing them how to be good boys and how to be respectful to all. Keep up the good work both you and your wife. God bless.
I would have charged the company for the travel that you have done to get there, even when the trailer is in the best shape that I have ever seen. I worked in a manufacturing plant and we took care of trailers that needs special loading procedures. We rarely requested the truck drivers to repair trailers on the spot or take it to the shop for repairs. Your trailer is spot on ready to load. It's bad for that company to reject you. Should put that company on blast.
You might want to be careful with those cheap $20 filters from Ebay. They might be counterfeit. Everybody else wants from $80 to $100+. Sometimes if the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Be a shame to trash a motor trying to save a couple of bucks. Not saying the filters you got are bad or anything, but I'd be suspicious.
$60 cheaper is very sus to me. Rebuilding a fuel pump cost more than the savings. I'll stick with the fleet filters, quality equals longer lasting in the end
Flour and sugar are tricky. Many shippers have high standards because of USDA or other inspectors at the receivers. They worry about bags ripping and getting contaminated. Not saying its right or wrong but your consignee might be picky and the shipper was just covering his own a__. Our trailers had wooden "planks" running down the sides to keep product away from the walls.
I think the pointed out "so called damage" was a excuse to try and get another truck the next day with a cheaper rate or he was just being lazy. Then the entire office had the audacity to not call you directly, sounds very sus to me
Justin, hopefully you remember to fix the issues the shipper pointed out to you. Remember they have a policy to abide to, so was pointing out the defects that need to be fixed to except a food grade load. I once had a flour load that i picked up in los angeles to deliver in palm springs, and was rejected by usda at the facility. Each pallet was shrink wrapped and the inspector said the trailer smelled like alfalfa. Just a lesson learned. Get the issues fixed for next time...
So true man…I feel bad for him but some of these Food Facilities are very strict. I have to refuses trailers all the time for similar things. The truck brokers need to inform the drivers that the trailer needs to be Food Grade. The driver also needs to make sure the trailer is in good order before arriving to the facility. The warehouse manager can’t take a chance if he’s sees something wrong he has to document it on the trailer inspections. I don’t blame him for refusing the trailer. Food Safety is extremely important .
The trailer probably has a surelok system which will add an additional security to keep the trailer from moving when the forklift goes in and out of the trailer especially if you have a forklift driver that drives rough. Yes surelok is the correct spelling.
The notion, they won't give you five minutes to prep your trailer; is a little rich. I'd give a call to the company management the next business day and try to email the video to them; give the the location numbers on the video where just the exchange occurs. Almost sounded like a personal beef against you.
Hard lesson learned...inspect your trailer after every unload for damages by forklift drivers not being careful. Repair any damage you find. The guy didn't want is sugar being rejected by the receiver. Just remember keep your side of the street clean. That's trucking don't get angry.
O'reilly sells truck parts. So does NAPA. They both have Wix filters. The prices are better and Wix filters are some of the highest quality, testing shows better than Fleetguard. Some of the discount priced filters on Amazon are Chinese knockoffs and not the real product. (Possibly the same since the actual products aree made in China, but we've found some missing internal parts, screens and o-rings).
You kept your cool. The fact you lose an entire day to one lazy guy who doesn’t wanna load you is mind boggling. Granted I don’t know the typical standards of food loads like that, but with them being on pallets and a decent distance from the side, I think that’s insane
we once got refused because the trailer was too old according shipper. It was road inspected and whole and clean and there was paper reels going in it. 🤷
Had a shipper and broker pull that bs with me. My refeer. I built a custom tail made so I could clean out. Better. 20 minutes later load was reposted but more weight. Slept the night thete and next morning load still wasn't covered. So I doubled my rate and got it 😊
