Core benefit of Linux is free open source & privacy by design. So no to Snap package manager which is a proprietary backend ownded by Canonical Ubuntu. Linux Mint is a far better choice, including Flatpak manager.
ngl, snaps is part of what makes me feel better now that I switched to Fedora, I remember Snaps just complicating things for me on Ubuntu and it was starting to get pretty annoying. Especially since now even system apps are installed as snap by default
crazy, everytime i see recomendations to the one that "phoned home" and its backed by microsoft, crazy
I cant get past the use of snap. I always remove it entirely. It sounds like this will increasingly be to its detriment. Time to find a new distro.
