A wise head on young shoulders. If only there were many more like him who grab life and pursue their ambitions in the most positive and constructive way. He is not a role model for just the LGBT community but a role model for everyone.

@@habu179 that’s because you are up to your ignorant neck in nonsense religious mythology like Islam instead of getting a proper education. It is time you recognised that being lgbt is normal for a percentage of any population but cowardly bullying arseholes like you stop them from being open about themselves in your society. I feel sorry for any children you have that might be lgbt because you will cause serious harm to their lives. Time to educate yourself and stop being so disgracefully medieval.

Tom is much more patient than I would be. I’d just say, “I don’t really care what some oppressor thinks or how he tries to spin his oppression. I just couldn’t care less. Deal with it.”

In answer to the Trinidadian Bishop. Being a gay man or woman is not a choice you just are it's FACT. Being a Christian and holding homophobic views based on a belief system is not a FACT it is a choice you consciously make. Is that simple enough for you bishop?

Both you and Mr. Daley were far too kind. The Andrew Marr program should have asked a governmental leader of Trinidad regarding Daley’s remarks rather than a religious leader’s. The program fails to identify the bishop’s religion, but Roman Catholic is the largest religion on Trinidad. Seriously, Andrew Marr asked a Roman Catholic Bishop about Daley’s remarks and thinks it pertinent enough to ask as a serious question. I am not involved in television news but I could have done a far better job. Is Marr the Sean Hannity of the BBC? That’s not meant to be a compliment. Why was Marr talking to a Bishop in the first place? Making a hard hitting story about witchcraft and sorcery?

The Trinidadian bishop would like everyone to be forced to be on the same diet as he has chosen. How medieval of him. He is using his religion to oppress others; his own personal Crusade. I suppose I’ll need to add Trinidad to the places to NOT TRAVEL.

To be strictly accurate those 36 countries criminalise and discriminate against homosexual men - lesbians and transgender are not even mentioned in the actual laws.

God is love - how dare this bishop attempt to use Christianity - shrimp are also an abomination in the Old Testament - gives Christianity a bad name!

The interviewer must be the Sean Hannity of the BBC. Including the Bishop remark was inexcusable.

he's really not/ we have Piers morgan for that i thought it was a great interview and the bishop remark was fair enough to provide a bit of contrast but then tom made it clear how wrong that perspective is
