I don't think humans needs labels and I honestly think that there are too many of them. The social norms that define society (example: pink = girl and blue = boys) are used as a foundation for many things (mostly in terms of appearance) and yet people pride themselves as "breaking" them by how they look. Instead of "breaking" you're "building" on those previously set norms. It's like how the labels used can be formed via a tree chart. An example is the label bisexual. It started out as just being bisexual and it was more like a spectrum than it is now, then pansexual appeared which is different than bisexual but still has the basic principle (attracted/will have sex with both sexes), and more. But most of the various labels mean the same thing, such as omnisexual. There's even a label that means you don't identify as any of the labels in the LGBTQ+ community. I know that people need labels but I just hope one day we can all just call each other us instead of using labels. You like who you like and I just wish we had the freedom to say, "yeah, I'd fuck her" or "no, I wouldn't date him" instead of adding these labels onto ourselves. It's like how we have "white" and "black" in relation to skin color. A bi person would taste them differently, but like them all whereas a pan person would think they all taste the same. Bi people are attracted to two or more genders, but they like each gender differently. Pan people don’t regard gender, they like all people in the same way.
I'd love for people who lable themselves as pansexual to actually learn what bisexuality means first... It's not about just men and women, it's about liking your own gender and other genders for whatever reason that may be. Pan is liking someone regardless of gender.
For me I id as bi, as pan & omni don't fit me. Pan - hearts not parts, your gender identity doesn't matter in me liking you. So I like all genders. The approximate ten year age difference between Curtis and teens does make a difference because the LGBT+ community has changed a lot in the past 10-25 years. Curtis was born in the early to mid 90s I think, and so he grew up with different role models, styles, education on the community, etc. Whereas queers born in the early 2000s have experienced more positivity and accepting surroundings, more information and more labels, different beliefs and outputs, etc. The two generations have a lot in common but they grew up in two different times and have two completely different experiences. Ex) Schools (that I know) are more accepting now than they were in the 90s. People can shop in the opposite sexes section more and not be questioned about it. There’s more representation of the community on tv/social media. People can be more public about the community whether that’s holding hands with your same sex partner, wearing pride stuff, or even talking about it, like you wouldn’t have seen a conversation as civilized as this one online in the 90s but it happens all the time now. And the list could go on That’s all I was getting at

Florian ĸarl you can be bi and like three genders. I heard a really good analogy for it. It’s like chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream. A bi person would taste them differently, but like them all whereas a pan person would think they all taste the same. Bi people are attracted to two or more genders, but they like each gender differently. Pan people don’t regard gender, they like all people in the same way.

Lmao no I just think it would be interesting to see a queer teen guessing. The approximate ten year age difference between Curtis and teens does make a difference because the LGBT+ community has changed a lot in the past 10-25 years. Curtis was born in the early to mid 90s I think, and so he grew up with different role models, styles, education on the community, etc. Whereas queers born in the early 2000s have experienced more positivity and accepting surroundings, more information and more labels, different beliefs and outputs, etc.
The two generations have a lot in common but they grew up in two different times and have two completely different experiences.
Ex)
Schools (that I know) are more accepting now than they were in the 90s.
People can shop in the opposite sexes section more and not be questioned about it.
There’s more representation of the community on tv/social media.
People can be more public about the community whether that’s holding hands with your same sex partner, wearing pride stuff, or even talking about it, like you wouldn’t have seen a conversation as civilized as this one online in the 90s but it happens all the time now.
And the list could go on

Like my role models were people from 2010’s. Many of us are only like 5 years older than gen zer’s anyways. your point would make more sense if you compared people born in the mid 80’s to gen z, than people born in the 90’s.
