There are so many challenges when making the decision on what GPU to buy. Oddly enough the 7700 XT may soon become the budget beast that it was meant to be. There is a few this you need to know about the RX 7700xt and the Power Color Red Devil model.

is it the video or can you sea the little light sources for the rgb?
I think if it would be cool if Powercolor came out with another GPU called the Daemon. It would be badass too like the Red Devil, but with some other added bells and whistles that would set it apart to make it just as cool or even cooler. Or they could come out with inferno edition cards for Red Devil or something like that.
ha, fun presentation! keep up the good work
Thank you!
Can anyone confirm if this GPU will be equal to or better than a 4070? I play games like AC Mirage, Red Dead II, Call of Duty, GTA etc
I am in the process of getting my first pc build and would like to hear peoples opinions!
Great channel. You should have WAY more subs!
Nicely done video, agree with you, had been looking at the RX 7700 XT, thinking AMD would lower its price to around $400, as at the price point it is now, its kind of a no brainer to buy the RX 7800 XT for roughly $50 more depending upon AIB partners selling cost, believe this cards price will drop hopefully around the $380 price point featured in the coming seasonal sales.
That would be a crazy good deal at $380
Eh, its still the same price mid-november. Prices dont go down much from her til the end of the year, so might be out of luck :(
Thank you!!
I was inbetween getting a 6750 xt, 7800 xt, or a 4070. Which do you think would be best value for performance currently?
For gaming likely the 7800xt. If you do creative works 4070 is better in that use case
I have a Powercolor 7900XTX and is it ever a great card. Runs cool, fans almost never turn on in the bottom of my Fractal Torrent. When the fans do spin up, unless the card is working super hard, the fans are silent.
Had good luck with a powercolor 5700xt not so much the 6900xt Red Devil ultimate. First one bit the dust 9 months in. Replacement performs 2-3% under most benchmarks. Will go Sapphire next card. My 6900xt Red Devil Ultimate performs like the normal Red Devil, just paid more……
Been eyeballin' the 7700xt for an upgrade from the 5600xt and I have heard the same thing from other tech-tubers "good performer, terrible price". Hopefully those prices drop a fair amount for the holidays.
Why not aim for the 7800xt for $50 more? Not trying to start an argument. I'm just curious.
@Faiz21222 Honestly it's to save the extra 50 bucks. Plus I don't really need a 7800xt for what I play or do on my pc.
Hi, there is a pc in Facebook market for 700€(as he says lot of parts has a warranty and are new expect gpu cpu and psu because he didn't mention any in the list)
Gpu- RX 6700 XT 12gb Gigabyte Gaming OC
Cpu- Intel i5-10400F
CPU Cooler: Deepcool AK500S Digital
Mobo-Biostar H510MHP-E
Ram-16gb DDR4 3000mhz
G.skill Aegis
Storage - NVMe 960gb Patriot P310
Case-Gembird Fornax 4000 Argb
Psu-850w 80+ Bronze XFX PRO850
Put the gpu in the title next time.
I have the 7800 XT red devil LE
TBP=275w which means it's equal to the hellhound so no better clocks
and the cooler performs equal to the hellhound. Although I must ad that this gpu does have a deticated vram heatpipe so maybe you'll get some better vram temps!
The reason I got it was because the red devil is the only AMD 7(7/8)00 XT card that uses it's own pcb. (Which is a widend reference pcb to allow for more gpu phases), And because it is wider it has 12 instead of 11/10 phases on other cards of the same type.
Good video. AMD could easily make the 7700xt the segment buster by making it $20 cheaper than a 4060ti. The 7700xt would be then flying off the shelves. Nobody from the AMD Ryzen cpu team must ever talk to the Radeon video card division about how to gain market share. You don't undercut your card with another one of your own card's. This is the 2nd time AMD has done this, first with the 7900xt and now the 7700xt. You gain market share by undercutting your competitors cards. Nvidia is SO far ahead in market share for video cards that I am not sure they consider anyone to be a true competitor. The 7700xt will eventually be a good value card, maybe a great value card. It should have been released as such.
Whether you agree with their methods for bait and switch, AMD still has to make money. While I personally don't agree with their methods of going about it, I do understand why they do. As for nvidia not having any competition, it's hilariously true. Nvidia has over 80% of the discrete GPU market, they can literally not release any new GPU for 3 generations and still have the majority of the market. That's why nvidia can just release anything and shove it down our throats, and as consumers we have no choice but to accept it. 80% of GPU buyers certainly do.
Great video as usual. I'm waiting for some benchmarks to see the difference between a RX 6750 XT and RX 7700 XT.
Well thank you! I am working on the 6700xt right now. I'm a bit behind so that may be a bit
I just bought the rx 6700xt red devil, because right mow the price is really cheap, and the gains of the 7700 is not really that great. And 7800 still expensive for me. 6700xt is just in the sweet spot. Of not making an expensive gaming machine and still using every game.
I like it but for 500$ you get 7800xt Hellhound witch is far from basic with clean looking design, top of the line cooler and more robust vrm than stock. Only downside is that you get nothing in the box, not even plastic covers for hdmi etc, not even manual but its worth it..
Not to be a language shark (English also isn't my first language) but witch is what you call your mother in law and wich is the word you probably meant.
Also my red devil 7800 XT only came with one dp cover. Or the others fell out into a worm hole or something
@apotato5563 which...
That one might be overpriced, but looking at their fighter, it's decent, I seen it for under 450.
Just got a 7800xt red devil for like 529 could of gotten the hellhound for 499 but I figured I’d spend the extra 30$ for a nicer looking and slightly better performing card hopefully it’s worth it
@fiftiethfiend8999 so what do u thin about ur choice
@@yannou4361 it's been great so far significant enough performance uplift and it's like 20 degrees cooler than my old card while running at 100% usage plus it's much quieter than my old card not whisper silent but wayyy better
Looking at this or nitro plus, both cost about the same
I would recommend the red devil, it has a more premium 10+2+1 phase than the nitro+ 8+2+1 phase vrm design. I have also seen a lot of people complaining about nitro+ cards overheating.
But if you wan't a really clean build the nitro+ is defineatly the best option but money for quality is on the red devil. Altough the Asrock Phantom Gaming has the highest powerlimits
@@apotato5563 I do like the idea of a memory speed overclock on the arsock. But now the supers just dropped and are pretty well priced. Definitely weighing my options
how's the driver experience?
So far so good, Amd has released a few updates since launch likely to address small bugs. But overall been pretty sweet
I perfer the amd software over Nvidia's software. But on the driver side there are some bugs in transport fever (2014) but for the rest it's absolutely amazing
Given how the relative prices of the 7900xt and 7900xtx got lower over time, you can probably expect something similar to happen with the 7700xt and 7800xt.
Lets hope!
I am not 100% sure that this is the case, the 7900 XT was way over priced when it launched so it makes sense that its price dropped, the 7800 XT most people feel has an acceptable price point while the 7700 XT seems to be slightly over priced.
We will likely see the 7700 XT drop $50 down to $400 but I don't expect the 7800 XT to drop in price just because the 7900 XT has had regular discounts on it, so I wouldn't expect the 7800 XT to see heavy discounts until the RX 8000 series launches.
@@doc7000 Given the possible disappointing rumors that AMD might do another RDNA 1 launch and not have any high end GPU's for RDNA 4, it might not lower in price either when RDNA 4 launches.
@@lumiereeclair I will be honest with you I don't find this disappointing and I think it will be an interesting opportunity for AMD. When the RX400 and 500 GPUs were being sold AMD market share grew to something like 30%. Also not doing a Navi 41 GPU can still give us a GPU that may compete head to head with an RTX 5080 GPU just not above that point.
Hey man, awesome vid. Looking to purchase one of these but just worried about the length. My case supports up to 330mm gpu length, I believe that the red devil is 332? I’m gathering that it won’t fit? Would the hellhound version of this card be a better option?
@unholydonuts hey mate, card wouldn’t fit without mounting the intake fans to outside of the case rather than inside. Very very tight fit, but just got it in. Don’t buy this card 😂😂 constant black screen crashing issues which is notorious for the 7800XT, and coil whine was hideous. Returned and Got a 4070ti for an absolute steal instead :)
@unholydonuts me too mate. Definitely an experience to forget
Buy a 7700xt when at 400 bucks 👍
Do I Buy It Now?
If the price is lowest enough for ya, they should be settling now
theres really just one thing that im worried about and thats productivity, i dont do editing and streaming as a job but i want to know if it will be good for that?
I mostly game, but sometimes me and my friends play some games and i record and edit them, im gonna play 1080p and record at that for a bit until I get a 1440p monitor,
i guess im talking too much, what i want to ask is, will the 7800xt be good for that compared to lets say the new 4070 super that is coming out?
It would probably be around a 70 euro difference where i live ( i currently have a 1660 Super)@@BlueprintPC
7800xt comes with one metal plate
The limited edition does yes, but they also sell a non limited version as well I believe
Yes the LE comes with a backplate but unlike the 7900 series this backplate has grey plastic instead of red. There are also two optional backplates one is €30 the other is €60
$500 is not mid-tier price lmao
It is now
@@andrewprice3990 never!
I wish it wasn't, hopefully prices will come down at some point
Maybe in 3 or 4 years when Inflation come down.
Yes it is
The whole "devil' thing is just getting a bit too carried away.
Appreciate that, I started feeling that way during the edit
Good card but bad name. Dont support satan. I need a Angel edition haha !
Just reference red devil the blind super hero Insted .
honestly, these designs are tiring.
I guess I'm just happy its just a brick. I do feel we need a Renaissance with gpu design
@@BlueprintPC We have to graduate from this "gamer" designs soon. Maybe I'm just a minimalist and boring.
@@xSeanokthen but the Merc 310. Done.
