Hey! I just discovered your channel, particularly your videos on Dostoevsky, and I really hope you get back to posting soon. Your videos are very calming for me.
Really interesting that you have the Mumford book and the Barzun book together as it seems like Barzun kind of picks up where Mumford left off. I’ve only read the Barzun book which I really enjoyed though I agree that the author gets kind of cranky about his idea that the rise of individualism is a threat to western civ. I liked Just Kids a great deal. Stay safe. Nice to have this new video from you
Cave of Forgotten Dreams is wonderful! A friend of mine used to love Sherman’s March-but way back then pre home internet I could not find a copy to watch. I have not thought about it sense-but I will have to look for it.
I love documentaries. I've never seen a Werner Herzog film! A couple of recommendations of docs that I still think about are "Finding Vivian Maier," about the photographer, and a profile of the painter Alice Neel, called "Alice Neel."
Ive been on a Werner Herzog kick lately. www.imdb.com/title/tt0200849/ is a fun little documentary about his friendship?!? with Klaus Kinski. If you watch it, let me know. The movies that it covers were amazing.

Thank you! I know I was surprised, I didn't know Barzun's and Mumford's timeline would synch up like that
