Hill House is my favorite show ever. I rewatch it every year. And THAT scene was the absolute best jump scare ever. Nothing has ever gotten me as good as that scene.

There is definitely something creepy about horrors set in barns or on farms. The first horror movie that scared me was Child's Play. I was a child when I sneakily watched it with a friend, and then I had to walk home that night alone. And my guess for what is going on is the owners are slaughtering people in their cellar. Thanks for the speed build! ❤

Farming horror is something that is so under utilized imo. You can do so much with it! But also the movie that scared me the most was genuinely Coraline. The scene towards the end in the spider web was so fucking tense. But the scene that scared me the most was the one at the well with the hand. Yeah, you know the one.

omg man I gotta comment. I LOVE CORALINE! my parent's let my watch it when I was like 6 (?) and I was so amazed. it gave me nightmares for weeks but it became one of my comfort movies afterwards. I also loved the book and it's so well written and yeah. just wanted to share that c:
I would recommend watching haunting of bly manor. It may not be as scary as hill house but the story is heart wrenching. Those who've watched it knows what I'm talking about
I like when the atmosphere /feels/ like something could happen, but doesn’t. Like the barn is just how it is, nothing bad or horrific happened or will happen; it’s our minds scaring us with what /could/. Also the mindfuck I got from the ending of the first Saw movie (or any Saw movie, really) was amazing!
That scene in Hill House got me too. Soooo many moments in that series! I watched it multiple times and kept finding new things in it that scared me. 😅
Probably the scariest moment that got me was then finding the tape of the husband in annihilation. Maybe it’s cause it was the first horror movie I saw in theaters, but that scene got me(surprisingly, the rest of the movie didn’t get me that badly).
I don't like horses, or rather how glitchy it can be, but I am tempted to get horse ranch for the 'juice' making... and the ranch build/buy. It's the same problem I have with cats and dogs. If I get a pet they're just annoying to take care of. And I feel bad when they die of old age 🥲
I have Pets, and I agree with you. I don't think any of my Sims have a pet as I type this. It just feels like extra work, and not enough fun. I was going to give the ghost dog, Whitaker, to the ghost Uniflora, to keep her company, but then I noticed he had the "Vocal" trait, meaning he barks a lot, and I was like "I just can't deal ..." Cheers!
I totally agree with the streaming service situation! I also think they should keep making physical copies of movies and shows so they won't be lost forever in case computer's get hacked and we lose more media. Oh and The walking dead season 2 is another good example with creepy barns too!
I have a DVD player! It's a USB one to plug into my laptop since it doesn't have a drive. Did you know( in the US) you can borrow DVDs for free from the public library, and they usually have most current movies and shows? And if they don't they often have an inter-library system within the county or even state. It fucks.
The part in Midsommar with the reveal of the person who'd been gutted and strung up in the barn with the flowers where his eyes were, and he was still like, alive? That got me so bad
My ADHD brain loves these videos SO much. (I know a little while ago you were talking about how you were struggling to find build ideas you were legit excited about, so don't take this comment as a "my mental health relies on you" kinda thing, but more of a "I have an extra level of appreciation for these videos because of the state of my mental health".) I legit look forward to being able to watch Speedbuild Saturdays
Nah, dvd players DO break! But you can get another one! Thrift your media! Buy an hdmi to rca cable converter! “Retro” video games, fuck yeah! Reduce reuse recycle! And remember! A broken console can super easily become a fixed console! And discs can be polished ;)
Bouahaha when you started talking about horror and barns in the beginning, the first thing coming to my mind was indeed The Walking Dead game from telltale omg that part …I liked both « The Haunting of »shows . I really liked the atmosphere of Bly but, sometimes it was a little hard to follow the writting. I don’t know if you play other styles of video games, but I recommend you Until Dawn (original or remake, I don’t really see the point of the remake cause the original is still recent but they added some scenes I think and the textures and acting are more realistic maybe). It’s an horror game but more into cinematographic one. Like a movie where you can interact.
I love environmental storytelling so so much. Also I think I'm finally gonna buy a bluray player bc. I need to watch my damn DVDs why don't new laptops come with disc drives anymore I'm so fucking mad- anyway.
I highly recommend watching all of the haunting series. All are equally awesome. Especially The Fall of the House of Usher. Also Netflix has Interview with a Vampire ❤.
Still love the theme song. My favorite horror is Reagan floating above her bed in The Exorcist. I still have cable actually. I don't know how that new show translates but I would read or listen to the original Shirley Jackson novel and watch the 1963 British move simply called The Haunting. Both are fantastic.
Here’s my interpretation of this barn. It’s called Ouroboros ranch, once an idyllic space with bountiful crops but the barn is strictly off limits to visitors. At night, you can spot the family going into the barn and you can hear screams, they’re not like a cow’s distressed moo, a horse whiney, or even a chickens screech. No. They’re human screams. The next morning, the family will insist that nothings going on, everything’s fine. But if you get close to the barn, you might smell burnt flesh. And be sure to say no to staying for dinner, no matter how much they plead and insist. Don’t stay for dinner. Final edit: I said it’s once idyllic and it’s called Oroburos. And that’s mainly because now, the woman of the house is the only one at the barn. She doesn’t look healthy, she looks quite thin, nearly under weight for a woman her age. If you watch her move, you may ask what happened to her leg as it looks so beaten up, as if it’s been bitten. She’ll say it’s nothing.
As someone who lives with a dad who loves owning the movies he wants to watch, yes you can break a DVD player. By jamming the cd in it so badly it won't function anymore. And vhs is worse, even the newer ones. The old ones are falling apart due to age and the newer ones are built so shitty that my vhs tape will rip and break in the player. But dvds are a better investment, in my opinion. Cause your can play a DVD in a DVD player and your computer, if there's a cd reader attached. It's how i got through my middle/high school years 😉
I am going to admit that I loved both the Haunting of Hill House and the Haunting of Blyth Manor. I rewatch them and realized how much I didn't pick up on the first time.
"There's a reason why this here town is called a ghost town..." The wise old cowboy says from the back of his steed, his hat tipped down as he spoke to the main protagonist before riding off into the sunset, only to find out both he and his horse were victims of the 'Barnyard Butcher' as they both faded away...
Haunting of Hill House RUINED ME Peak gothic fiction modernised. The jumpscares didnt get me but the slow psychological horror? Yes love that. If you adore traditional gothic horror novels I genuinly suggest you watch it
I've always been a huge fan of horror and thrillers since I was a kid. I used to wait until everyone went to bed and it was all dark and creepy outside, then one night I decided to watch the movie Silent Hill. And I hope I don't spoil to much, but there was a scene where she was being chased inside a school( I think) and she hid in a small utility closet and what happened next got me so bad that I slammed my laptop shut and went to sleep with the lights on😂😂😂
Thinking about farms and horror, I’d have to say the scariest or at least most creepy and disturbing farm related media are certain episodes of Criminal Minds. That show had a magic way of being so freaking creepy and horrid when it wanted to be and so comforting at other times.
Oh! Also one of the first horror movies I watched on my own-no clue what the name is-pretty sure it had Kristen Stewart and she and her family moved to a farm. I remember there being like the creepy ghosts are actually protecting her thing and I really loved it. Plus crows? Good mix of creepy vibes.
the haunting of bly manor is also SOO good but its like not as scary at least to me bc its like not a scary story and the ending actually changed me as a person its so sad😭
Off topic, but you should definitely give Bly Manor a try! I think people were disappointed because they went into it with the expectation of it being as overtly *scary* as Hill House, when its a lot more of a quiet horror tragedy. Its really good without that expectation imo
My personal interpretation is that this barn is meant to be abandoned, as there’s no animals and the fields aren’t cared for, but there’s footprints and lit oil lamps. Someone had been using this place for their own means, not to live as there isn’t much presence of vital necessities, but they’ve been pursuing work in “butchering”.
i have about 200 dvds in my bedroom and they take up my whole bookshelf but dvds are so much better than streaming services !! most of the movies i have arent even on any streaming services and most of them are really popular lol. i luv thrifting dvds
This popped into mind: "Hey, did you hear about the old abandoned McCoy farm!?" "No, what did you hear?" "Well the story goes that the Old McCoy farm was run by a sweet guy and his young wife. The wife was supposed to be like the belle of southern belles. Super beautiful and kind and the perfect wife. Only problem was all the other guys in town fell for her as well." "Ok... Let me guess, OLd Man McCoy was secretly the jealous type?" "Shockingly, no. Mind you, he would politely ask the other gents to not flirt with his wife, especially in his presence and they generally respected that rule. But then one day one of the many gentleman callers just up and vanished. At first they thought he went out coyote hunting, while drunk too much whiskey and likely dozed off in a ditch somewhere, was the first time he's done it either. But after about three days and no sign of them, they formed a search party and went looking. Old man McCoy had a hunting dog, a larger fella, like a mastiff mix. Or something. They said it was big enough to fight with the local Grizzlies, but as gentle as a summer breeze with people, especially the young ones. The dog, I think the old lady down the street called him Digo. Weird name but eh. So anyway the party followed after Digo for miles and eventually looped back around having found a fresh blood trail that ended up leading back to Old Man McCoy's farm." "Eh, but that makes no sense. If he was missing for three days how could the trail be fresh and why would it lead back to McCoy's farm, when he was out there leading the search party with the others? I doubt he would have had time to slip off to go and off the guy." "Yeah, the locals thought the same because they all traveled 6 feet apart and Digo only listens to McCoy and thus he had to join the search team because otherwise Digi won't budge or will ignore commands issued... Well they get back to the farm where they hear screaming and Old Man McCoy realizes it's his wife's voice and breaks out into a run, Digo at the head because he loves Mrs. McCoy too. They reach the barn first and find Mrs. McCoy on the floor in a pool of fresh blood screaming as she stares up at something and when they look it is the gruesome remains of the gentleman caller, freshly k*lled and hung from the rafters by his own entrails." "Jeez, that is horrible and disgusting.... Who the hell did it!?" "No one knows! They got the body down and sent it off to, at the time the local city's morgue to get an autopsy done but nothing could be found other than the damage done to his lungs and liver from years of smoking and drinking. It was so strange! Eventually everything calmed down. Mrs. McCoy avoided the barn like the plague, which I don't blame the poor woman. Imagine going to the barn to do some light chores or to check on the animals because something spooked them only to find a guy who flirted with you not three days ago unalived in your barn!!" "Ok, so what happened next, there has to be a reason why the farm was abandoned and one death wouldn't do that." "You're right, it gets worse... Over the next month five more men will suddenly vanish. This in turn causes the search party to gather up. And spend hours looking for them only to find fresh blood trails that eventually lead back to the McCoy farm. They'd found two more bodies in the barn before Old Man McCoy decided during their fourth search to leave his farm hand, a kid named Jeffrey, to keep a close eye on the barn and to protect his wife. But when the trail eventually got back to the farm nothing had showed up in the barn but then they heard the screams again. And then once more everyone rushed to where Mrs. McCoy was screaming her heart out. The fourth body was sitting on her favorite rocking chair in the little gazebo her husband built for her to have tea parties with the other wives or on cool autumn nights will sit with her husband and Digo to enjoy the stars and a small fire in the portable braiser." "Jeez, this poor woman can't get a break!" "Yeah especially because the body was missing all the limbs which were hung up like macabre decorations from the hanging plants and the head was sitting in the braiser with the eyes plucked out. And like the last three bodies, nothing other than was normal for the guy's health was found from the body. When the fifth guy went missing, Old Man McCoy had called his sister to come stay with his wife and Jeffrey, in the house to keep her from being traumatized once more. And like all the other times they left to look, but this time instead of looking for the person they were counting the hours until they found the first blood trail. Once they find it they start following it back to the McCoy's and by this point the Sheriff was thinking either someone had it out for the McCoys or something fishy was happening. But it made no sense. Mrs. McCoy was the second wife after the first had died in child birth and old man McCoy had always been a kind and gentle soul, always respectful and never one to shy from hard work or lending a helping hand. And yet there was this strange feeling in the back of his mind. Once they got to the edge of the property the screaming began and this time there were three voices screaming. Rushing into the house McCoy screams in terror finding not only the missing man but now young Jeffrey dead and unalived horrifically. But that made no sense since there were three screams. Rushing past the bodies to find his wife and sister, Old Man McCoy by passed the old nursery, missing a shadow slipping off into the night as he did so..." "A shadow?" "Yeah, not sure why they claim it was a shadow but that is how the story goes... Anyway! He finds his wife and sister, the reo women having gone to check Jeffery just to find his body and the gentleman's before they ran to the bathroom and locked themselves in. After that, when Mrs. McCoy dared to go out, none of the men dared to flirt with her. Rumors were spreading that her husband was secretly k*lling the men for daring to flirt with her. Others claimed their house was haunted by evil spirits and demons. And others claimed that it was Mrs. McCoy's secret lover! Eventually the whispers turned to mutterings and the mutterings turned to scorn. But more bodies kept appearing at the McCoy house, furthering the so-called validity of the rumors. By the time the 13th body dropped, Mr. McCoy wasn't allowed to join the search parties but oddly enough while he was home nothing seems to happen. He would check the property from too to body every 15 minutes to be sure and Digo never let out a sound to indicate intruders or the like." "So what the hell was going on?" "That's when this gets really spooky. As Old Man McCoy was starting his newest round of checks, he saw movement from the corner of his eyes and turned to kook only to find nothing. Turning back to where he was headed he found a grim faced sheriff walking towards him and arresting him. Old man McCoy was confused but didn't resist as he was pulled in for questioning. Apparently at the edge of his property were the bodies of three more men and it was clearly done by an animal. Digo was also brought to the local kennel to be tested for attacking the men." "But they legit did nothing!!" "Yeah, but too many coincidences, always leading to the farm and now quote, unquote proof of the old man's involvement? They had to bring him in for questioning. The rumors weren't helping either! It took hours of thorough investigation and interrogating, but the old man remained as he ever was: calm, collected and never hostile or uncooperative." "Why do I feel like something horrific is about to happen?" "Because that's how these things always happen. As they are reaching hour 10 of the investigation, a rookie bursts into the room to inform them that Mrs. McCoy had gone missing, likely has been missing for more than 4hrs because she left a roast in the oven and it burnt black and started a small fire at the homestead. Which got the fire brigade's attention." "Oh no... But they now know it wasn't old man McCoy! He clearly loves his wife and would never bring her harm!" "Right, they let him go because they now know he is innocent and is the victim in this mess with his wife and now she has gone missing as well. They gather everyone in town and go looking. The old man keeps seeing the fleeing shadow and decides to follow it. Not noticing that the others neither saw it nor noticed him leaving. Digo wasn't there either, still in the kennel for further testing and evidence collection. He follows the darting shadow to his barn and frowns confused. He slowly enters and finds the animals all silent, too silent for his liking as he slowly slinks further and further in until he gets to the stacks of hay along the back wall. He also notices foot tracks through the loose hay and dirt that can only happen if one had free movement. So he carefully starts moving the hay bales and finds a secret entry of sorts and slowly climbs down. However when he gets to the bottom, he lets out a haunting scream and then...." "And then..?!" "Well that's the thing. No one knows... With the owners of the land and even their faithful dog missing, the town built a tall chainlink and barb wired fence around the property believing it to be cursed and haunted even to this day and age!"
Cable was so good though. I could just go from channel 52 (Cartoon network) to channel 3 (PBS). I miss getting excited when I would come back from school and Ninjago was on. I remember standing in my Grandma's kitchen, eyes wide while watching Season 5's premiere episode! I was a 2004 kid though but cable was so much better than having to try and find a show. Like flipping VLD, a netflix origjnal, is being removed from netflix! Like why?? We wouldnt have this issue with cable unless they cancelled a show. They would just throw on reruns for an entire week or month as celebration for whatever they were celebrating.
The TV problem is definitely NOT just a you problem. It is so hard to keep up with TV i s2g. I do rec IWTV if you get the rare urge to sit down and watch something new though.
I don't have internet and my phone has hotspot so thats the only way i have internet access- everything else i own it CD- i like to go to the 5 dollar bin at Walmart and pull out something random to watch when i have money!
Our DVD player "broke" once. I opened it up and after a quick look around saw it was just a snapped rubber band. Replaced the rubber band and it was good as new. This is not a flex, I was only like 15 at the time and I am not super mechanically inclined or good with electronics. If it was anything computery I would not have been able to fix it.
seriously we sold everything we actually owned and traded it for something that they own. I MISS OLD SCHOOL BEDROOMS. PPL HAD COOL ROOMS WITH ACTUAL INDIVIDUALITY.
i've never seen haunting of hill house, but i watched haunting of bly manor - i am BEGGING you to watch it!!! it's not... scary, the story isn't meant to be scary. the characters are written SO unbelievably well. i don't wanna go into it anymore, bc i think it will actually spoil it if i talk abt how i felt while watching it LOL it does get slow here and there, but it's so worth watching that ending
So, I personally LOVED Bly Manor. It’s very good. I wouldn’t say it’s better or worse than Hill House, because it’s very different. It’s very good. My favorite show by Mike Flannagan is Midnight Mass. I just loved that one. Made me feel several emotions, and it might have hit different because I was raised Catholic... But between Bly Manor and Hill House, while I don’t think either is better, I personally like Bly Manor more. The ghost story that isn’t actually horror, the characters, the GAY.
First of all... our DVD Player broke... because our fat cute Cat back than jumped on it. Ripped it out of the shelf and smashed it on the ground... sad story i know... But for the Build... i sort of think because of the Paw-Prints there hide a werewolf that hunt at fullmoon, store its prey and kill it in humanform. Cutting off whatever he/she/it wants to eat from... human? Boar? Bear? What ever the Hunt gives us.

That scene in Hill House got me too. Soooo many moments in that series! I watched it multiple times and kept finding new things in it that scared me. 😅
Probably the scariest moment that got me was then finding the tape of the husband in annihilation. Maybe it’s cause it was the first horror movie I saw in theaters, but that scene got me(surprisingly, the rest of the movie didn’t get me that badly).
bly manor was so good it just wasnt as “horror” as hill house, it’s more of a thriller. if you liked hill house you would like it
Pearl! Love that movie. Still need to watch Maxine the final one. Also thanks for entertaining me and so many others.
I saw Maxine. It's definitely the weakest of the trilogy with Pearl as the best.
They are a little annoying to take care of, but at a certain point with the vet skill, you can make treats that age the pets down.
I love it's build buy. I did the game play. Juice making was fun. Bit boring but I'm not a horse girl.
6:25 I don't know about you, but I'm the same way and for me it's 100% my ADHD, forcing myself to watch a TV show is like pulling teeth sometimes
It fucks.
4:34 oooooh my dad never gets frightened for jumpscares but that was one of the few times he ever reacted
The part in Midsommar with the reveal of the person who'd been gutted and strung up in the barn with the flowers where his eyes were, and he was still like, alive? That got me so bad
Omg when you mentioned the haunting of hill house, that scene was improvised!
I caught myself singing the intro
i have been singing it ever since like Appearence 2 of the song
THAT SCENE IS HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE. I literally fell off the couch when that jump scare happened
The most unsettling horror movie scene I’ve ever seen what’s the bear attack in annihilation. Mentally scarred for life
Nah, dvd players DO break! But you can get another one! Thrift your media! Buy an hdmi to rca cable converter! “Retro” video games, fuck yeah! Reduce reuse recycle! And remember! A broken console can super easily become a fixed console! And discs can be polished ;)
As soon as you said Haunting of Hill House, I knew exactly what scene you were going to reference 😅
I still have a dvd player, but I only buy my absolute favourite movies, so I know I can always watch them
Bouahaha when you started talking about horror and barns in the beginning, the first thing coming to my mind was indeed The Walking Dead game from telltale omg that part …I liked both « The Haunting of »shows .
YAY, SPEED BUILD SATURDAY!
Also Netflix has Interview with a Vampire ❤.
the hill house mention make my day
Still love the theme song. My favorite horror is Reagan floating above her bed in The Exorcist. I still have cable actually. I don't know how that new show translates but I would read or listen to the original Shirley Jackson novel and watch the 1963 British move simply called The Haunting. Both are fantastic.
making a horror version of every pack is a great idea for a save
thanks for that advice ! 😅😅
She’ll say it’s nothing.
speed build saturday is the only time when my saturdays are good :>
As someone who lives with a dad who loves owning the movies he wants to watch, yes you can break a DVD player.
Reminds me of the ending of the fifth paranormal activity movie. No spoilers, but theres a jumpscare in a stable like area. (If you know what i mean)
Omg thanks for the reminder at the end I almost forgot to
Cottage Living is definitively the best
"There's a reason why this here town is called a ghost town..." The wise old cowboy says from the back of his steed, his hat tipped down as he spoke to the main protagonist before riding off into the sunset, only to find out both he and his horse were victims of the 'Barnyard Butcher' as they both faded away...
It wasn't a scary movie, but when I was younger, I was terrified of the acid trip scene in SLC Punks
"you can take that meaning of the word and use it for whatever you want"
See this is why you always end the tours filled with regret.
Haunting of Hill House RUINED ME
Peak gothic fiction modernised. The jumpscares didnt get me but the slow psychological horror? Yes love that. If you adore traditional gothic horror novels I genuinly suggest you watch it
Gerald's Game is maybe my favorite horror film--the Moonlight Man, also in a car iykyk
I've always been a huge fan of horror and thrillers since I was a kid. I used to wait until everyone went to bed and it was all dark and creepy outside, then one night I decided to watch the movie Silent Hill. And I hope I don't spoil to much, but there was a scene where she was being chased inside a school( I think) and she hid in a small utility closet and what happened next got me so bad that I slammed my laptop shut and went to sleep with the lights on😂😂😂
I love the murder room.
Scariest scene for me was also Haunting of Hill House but it involved a boy with glasses in a basement.
That Hill House scene: I was NOT able to go to bed that night.
Haven't seen the other one, but I did watch the haunting of Bly Manor and it was really good imo. Dunno if it was better, but it made me cry.
That car scene is so fucking scary. Also, I don’t know how much plex is, but it’s a streaming service. You have everything you can watch
Dude I had that same reaction to that scene in Hill House
Yes. Support physical media. CDs and DVDs. Hold on to your favourite albums and movies!🎉
only answer is Schwartz is plotting to take over with help from the horse kingdom. it's a half-baked idea heading toward fully baked
the haunting of bly manor is also SOO good but its like not as scary at least to me bc its like not a scary story and the ending actually changed me as a person its so sad😭
That was spooky!!
I was born in 2010 and I still watch cable.
You have to watch Bly Manor. It’s sapphic and emotional and great. Not as scary as Hill House but incredible stuff
dude i'm never feeling very well either 😢😂
I'm not much of a horror girlie, but the nightvision scene in Silence Of The Lambs messed me up good.
This popped into mind:
"Hey, did you hear about the old abandoned McCoy farm!?"
"No, what did you hear?"
"Well the story goes that the Old McCoy farm was run by a sweet guy and his young wife. The wife was supposed to be like the belle of southern belles. Super beautiful and kind and the perfect wife. Only problem was all the other guys in town fell for her as well."
"Ok... Let me guess, OLd Man McCoy was secretly the jealous type?"
"Shockingly, no. So anyway the party followed after Digo for miles and eventually looped back around having found a fresh blood trail that ended up leading back to Old Man McCoy's farm."
"Eh, but that makes no sense. If he was missing for three days how could the trail be fresh and why would it lead back to McCoy's farm, when he was out there leading the search party with the others? I doubt he would have had time to slip off to go and off the guy."
"Yeah, the locals thought the same because they all traveled 6 feet apart and Digo only listens to McCoy and thus he had to join the search team because otherwise Digi won't budge or will ignore commands issued... Well they get back to the farm where they hear screaming and Old Man McCoy realizes it's his wife's voice and breaks out into a run, Digo at the head because he loves Mrs. McCoy too. They reach the barn first and find Mrs. McCoy on the floor in a pool of fresh blood screaming as she stares up at something and when they look it is the gruesome remains of the gentleman caller, freshly k*lled and hung from the rafters by his own entrails."
"Jeez, that is horrible and disgusting.... Who the hell did it!?"
"No one knows! Imagine going to the barn to do some light chores or to check on the animals because something spooked them only to find a guy who flirted with you not three days ago unalived in your barn!!"
"Ok, so what happened next, there has to be a reason why the farm was abandoned and one death wouldn't do that."
"You're right, it gets worse... The fourth body was sitting on her favorite rocking chair in the little gazebo her husband built for her to have tea parties with the other wives or on cool autumn nights will sit with her husband and Digo to enjoy the stars and a small fire in the portable braiser."
"Jeez, this poor woman can't get a break!"
"Yeah especially because the body was missing all the limbs which were hung up like macabre decorations from the hanging plants and the head was sitting in the braiser with the eyes plucked out. Rushing past the bodies to find his wife and sister, Old Man McCoy by passed the old nursery, missing a shadow slipping off into the night as he did so..."
"A shadow?"
"Yeah, not sure why they claim it was a shadow but that is how the story goes... He would check the property from too to body every 15 minutes to be sure and Digo never let out a sound to indicate intruders or the like."
"So what the hell was going on?"
"That's when this gets really spooky. Digo was also brought to the local kennel to be tested for attacking the men."
"But they legit did nothing!!"
"Yeah, but too many coincidences, always leading to the farm and now quote, unquote proof of the old man's involvement? They had to bring him in for questioning. The rumors weren't helping either! It took hours of thorough investigation and interrogating, but the old man remained as he ever was: calm, collected and never hostile or uncooperative."
"Why do I feel like something horrific is about to happen?"
"Because that's how these things always happen. As they are reaching hour 10 of the investigation, a rookie bursts into the room to inform them that Mrs. McCoy had gone missing, likely has been missing for more than 4hrs because she left a roast in the oven and it burnt black and started a small fire at the homestead. Which got the fire brigade's attention."
"Oh no... But they now know it wasn't old man McCoy! He clearly loves his wife and would never bring her harm!"
"Right, they let him go because they now know he is innocent and is the victim in this mess with his wife and now she has gone missing as well. However when he gets to the bottom, he lets out a haunting scream and then...."
"And then..?!"
"Well that's the thing. No one knows... With the owners of the land and even their faithful dog missing, the town built a tall chainlink and barb wired fence around the property believing it to be cursed and haunted even to this day and age!"
Hill House mentioned!!
You should renovate this into a wedding venue next
I still have my Disney VHSs and an old VCR, not to brag : )
i wasnt ready for what i saw in Pearl lol but good movie. i need to watch maxxxine actually
It's giving Leatherface or that one Criminal Minds episode where that lady was keeping dudes in her barn.
Cable sucked too. You had to buy like 10 additional packages on top of basic cable to get all the channels you want.
I think they carve pumpkins down there 😊
As someone born in 2001 I'm slightly offended! I watched VHS and Cable as a kid 😂
Haunting of Hill House was an excellent series
this is so pearl coded
"One day they will take it off the streaming service..." [cries in 28 days later]
Throw in streaming services are now editing movies and shows so it is going to be different than the physical version of them
i laugh in every video, you're SO funny!
Bent Neck Lady haunts me.
I solved the spooky mystery: hayloft demolished + poor hygiene practices in the nectar production. Won’t somebody think of the botulism 😩
i've never seen haunting of hill house, but i watched haunting of bly manor - i am BEGGING you to watch it!!!
it's not... scary, the story isn't meant to be scary. the characters are written SO unbelievably well. i don't wanna go into it anymore, bc i think it will actually spoil it if i talk abt how i felt while watching it LOL
it does get slow here and there, but it's so worth watching that ending
So, I personally LOVED Bly Manor. It’s very good. I wouldn’t say it’s better or worse than Hill House, because it’s very different.
It’s very good.
My favorite show by Mike Flannagan is Midnight Mass. I just loved that one. Made me feel several emotions, and it might have hit different because I was raised Catholic... But between Bly Manor and Hill House, while I don’t think either is better, I personally like Bly Manor more. The ghost story that isn’t actually horror, the characters, the GAY.
Yes a walking dead barn is in my game too lol
As soon as I saw the stalls I thought people farming. Like you would do with cattle
