64 yr Dalmore!!!!!!!! He said the last bottle went for $32,000, well now in 2011 the last bottle went for $128,000 and he just throws a couple of drams in a glass for her to learn. That makes me cry.
@@maul_360 yeah just clean your glasses in double distilled water after they have been handwashed in warm water and soap. that removes EVERYTHING, leaves zero residue or soap.

ive been watcing part 1 now part 2 and i am drinking rum as they taste whiskey....im getting a little bit drunk and though : "wow, they must be drunk by now..."
I followed his advice and was able to enjoy my scotch much more. However, given that it was a simple Glenlivet 12, that means I made the most out of a Mr. McDonald’s burger while he enjoys the best of filet mignons.
I used to date his daughter. True story. Didn't chat too much but he's an exceptionally intelligent and interesting guy. Wish I'd liked whisky back then.
I have my rituals I plan around a great bottle, first a meal a nice juicy 1 1/4 steak porter house (med rare) golden potatoes the golf ball size cut in half toss in in a bowl with fresh rosemary, salt, pepper,olive oil and Parmesan cheese in the over till done and crispy, next sauté some onions and portobello shrooms and your choice of salad and jumbo shrimp skewered and grilled, and this weekend I'm celebrating a bottle of McAllen 18yrs with a cigar from Mr, Arturo Fuente anejo.. And after of course the sweet smell of my lady, Cheers.
@Jason Rasmussen well, it depends on the cut really; generally speaking most common cuts are better medium. Like NY strip. Some juicy ones are actually better rare, like a juicy rib-eye.

To be honest I find it a bit insane that he gave her 1 or 2 cl of what seems to be Dalmore Trinitas. For reference, these bottles sold at auction for over £100,000 each. That was the equivalent of £1500+ of whisky in those glasses, not to mention being some of the rarest whisky in the world. Very few whisky enthusiasts will ever be able to try it. I'm all for putting on a good show, but it seems like a huge waste to give that to someone who isn't into whisky in the slightest.
I guess he has license to use it any way he likes being the Master Blender. Makes for a good show anyway. To be fair Charlie MacLean was there and he polished off some along with the cameraman.

Charlie has what is probably my favorite tasting guide on youtube (SMWS Masterclass), a bit less showy but you can really get the most out of a whisky.
I never liked whiskey but these videos really make me want to try some good ones. That being said I strongly doubt I can afford the type of whiskeys that deserve this leve of treatment.
