He's not throwing away whiskey, he's blessing, purifying the horrendous environment
I bet that day was the best for all workers of that studio and offices. Imagine working in the office, that suddenly smells like expensive scotch. :)
We also do this in India🇮🇳...
We call it "chadhawa"..
He's probably having a laugh at all the people who think he's being serious and throwing away their expensive single malt on the floor.
People who complain about him repeating it don't understand his craft. This man is putting on a performance with the drinks he is educating you about. This dude is a master and has this thing timed to perfection lol. Also he treats his whiskey like master painters. He isn't frugal nor penny pinching about it. When you have the balls to throw away whiskey like he does, you are a man with confidence and who isn't afraid to risk things. No wildly successful person in ANYTHING was a penny pincher.
Every rich person I ever met was extremely frugal. Nonsense
Nobody said rich - a SUCCESSFUL person can be independent to material wealth .. his knowledge is wealth !
@@dawgpost90 not true some aren't hence they have huge opulent homes and too many cars to count.
@@jsm530 How is my subjective experience "not true" for you? I recognize that there is a spectrum of people in the "rich" category. That's just been my experience.
He's penny pinching when it comes to bottling his whiskies. Most Dalmores are bottled at a measly 40% ABV. Should be at least 46% considering how much they charge for it.
This man is actually from Arrakis, throwing the liquid on the floor was a sign of respect. In fact look at how this professional catches the glass at 4:54 to ensure not a drop is spilled
XD
Shai-hulud brother Shai-hulud
"The most expensive thing you will ever have in your mouth" Such a scotsman.
obviously lying ..i bet it's just his piss brewed with prof Snape...lol
footytang lol
@@footytang Lol..
Apart from him.... she knows she can't afford it.
Unless she marries,Rupert Murdoch!😂
The greatest mystery of life is knowing whether Richard is being serious or taking the piss
8 in the morning and they're drinking live on television. God I love this man
"really ruined your studio here but never mind"
what a gentleman
Jarsia upgraded the studio. 🥃
This man really takes his whisky very .. very seriously.
Very creative comment.
Max Mustermann Very creative input.
At $50,000 a bottle I would do the same
*whisky
Brian Campbell
Both are correct.

You can't help but to smile while watching this man! He's so fun and entertaining! :)
It would have been funny if he first threw the $50,000 scotch on the ground.
This guy + a claymore + super-scotch = the best superhero ever.
"I dont have much of a bridge of a nose here" hahahahahaha
omg she was the best interviewer from everyone that talked to him. so chill
He says the same shit in every video
+XTrevvion dragon ball z says the same shit in every episode ahhhhhh uawyahhhhhhh haaaaaaaaa ururrrrrrhhaaaaaaa
XTrevvion IKR, gets fucking annoying and pretentious!
I met him before. He does that IRL. really nice guy. He even gave me a book
well duh? What else is he supposed to say?
Yeah, but in this video he didn't do the coffee and chocolate story.
lmfao she should have tossed the whisky from the vile coz you needa clean the glass right hahahaa
+Calvin Wong loooooooooooooool :P
ROFLMFAO bahahahahaAHAHAHAhahahahahhaa
*vial
Calvin Wong he would need balls in size of ostrich egg to do that with this whiskey ;-)
i bet he'd have cried like a baby
Can someone who has time calculate how much money he spilled by "cleaning" the glass?
The 12 year old Single Malt Dalmore which he started her with is $65 a bottle. So couple of bucks
это часть представления. он актер
YES.
The guys behind the scenes are probably licking the ground and the cameras, everywhere the liquid fell after throwing it away.
I am so jealous. Price is not the determinant for the complexity of a $50,000/50-year old whisky, but the fact that it served by Richard Patterson is. Just wow and, "I'd like to have some of what she's having."
This dude is fucking awesome!
I bet his whole house smells like scotch.
I soaked my jacket with a glass of Jack during a heavy drink session. There was literally no smell the next morning.
@@blueslime1980 Lol, there is worse. What do you recommend? Nowadays I drink Jim Beam over ice or gin tonics :D
I love this guy! He's freaking insane!
We need more ppl like this at our Bars
"Let me abuse you here.. " I thought I misheard him, but then after few seconds he said again, " Let me just abuse you here...", , this man is always quite blunt in his profession 😉 😉 🤣🤣
I love his passion
I was at a tasting (really, an education) with Richard Paterson, and he really is an amusing guy. Unfortunately, with only a 6 minute clip, he's rushed so he can't go over the history and differences between whisky and scotch, or the various regions, or many other things that we did in an hour and a half. Oh yeah, and a lot of tasting.
There's an hour long video of him at one of his tastings on youtube. Unfortunately the uploader didn't label it correctly, but look up "WoW2011_RichardPatterson.mp4" on youtube and it should come up.
that sounds like an awesome experience, Dan!
thanks men I appreciate it @@hamsterpoop
Love this guy! Just made me a whisky enthusiast. Plus , what a gentleman complementing after that nose remark. Well done sir....but THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE HIGHLANDER!
Cane here from the shorts displaying his hilarious antics, stayed for the man and his passion.
He likes to trow his dalmore, but not his more expencive drinks.
this guy is one of my favorites! he has such carisma and passion, very inspiring!
I do think she prefers wine, but applause for her bravery and resilience to try new things
i love this man
4:00 min is by far the best part!
achuck4321
Ya don't need it! 😂
Glass that I use for drinking whiskey:
The *bottle*, I use the *bottle*
Come at me Paterson bro!
he might try to kill you for that.
try?
He'll go all angry scotsman on me!
i was completely with richard patterson, while watching the video, he has got the art of story telling. superb
today i am depressed with my life then i saw this host...now i M back with a bang😂😂😂
This is awesome and hilarious! I watch Sophie Lui every morning when I come in from night shift at a logging camp I work at in BC. Great video clip, she's a great gal, and to top it all off she is cute as a button! You rock, Sophie!
You had me with your sweet Scottish accent, master blender Richard Paterson! Sophie Lui is fun and such a great sport! Cheers!
I agree, I also use water but i do however use a DROP of wiskey after the water and swirl it around and chuck it, before starting the real tasting. Imo it does make a huge difference.
This man, is to me, the world's most interesting man
That ''Hmm Hmm Hmm'' reaction of that lady there @1:45, LOL
Same thing happened to me, the first time I drank whisky I was 18, back then I was a white spirit drinker. It was a 15-year-old single malt, the smoke nearly made me choke. Now I'm a whiskey/whisky drinker.
the contrast in the ticker tape a the bottom and whats going on is stark
I'm looking for an apprenticeship as a master whiskey blender.Any vacancies Mr.Paterson?
really throw it out on to the floor lmao this dudes house is probly like a sticky nightmare
I give em something to do
Get a dog. Problem solved.
This guy probably has cleaning maids.
Mine too. Not whiskey though
Nah it all evaporates, there's no colouring in good scotch
keep it there keep it there and....SWALLOW! ahahah
I nearly spat my drink over my computer when I read your comment!
This guy's a straight beast.
whiskey at 830AM..hell ya!
Richard is my new hero!
Ha, I literally laughed out loud when he was saying if you hold the glass with your whole hand he would kill you.
I feel like she actually appreciates the spirits vs a lot of other videos I have seen
Can I just be in the front catching what he throws out?
I would love to be at one of his demostrations.
I know he does the same exact talk and gimmicks everytime (I've seen many videos), but learning from him in an extended lecture would be awesome.
when he poured that 50k a bottle shit she should have swirled and tossed it and been like "k glass is clean"
i love him so much
liar
he has his own standard of class
Are you kidding?....David Stewart has more standard of class in his little pinky
TOOL
she drinks like a fuckin champ... i'm in love
Not bad for someone I assume was not previously a whisky drinker...I was expecting her to spit it out but she handled it like a pro!
How can I book this man to entertain at my birthday party?
Richard Paterson is a legend.
He is the most interesting man in the world!
Does that mean I can buy a bottle of scotch and keep it for 50 years? boom 50g. lol
Sadly not, as its all about how long it has been aged in the wood cask without opening. Longer time spent in the wooden casket means the flavour is higher, and consequently the price.
no, you could put the whiskey back in a barrel but scotch has to be aged in scotland. and you can overage whiskey, the reason scotland can do 50 year old whiskey is because of their climate and also because the volume of the barrels. a small barrel ages faster then a big one as more of the liquid contact wood.
This guy is my hero
Using water instead of whiskey to clean the glass will reduce the whiskey consumption. Also one can utilize Red Label to wash glasses.
what is he went "the most expensive thing you will ever have in your mouth....except for my semen girl" hahahha
Imagine if when he gave her the 50,000 dollar one she threw it away like he did
Imagine if she just tossed the last whiskey to clean the glass and smiled thinking shes been clever
XD he keeps throwing it on the floor! LOL
I would drink my own pish after tasting that whiskey.
He is a legend!
Who else thought he was goin to throw the normal glass away?😂
5:29 ... donald trump Meme Face LOL
That man was by definition "A Boss".
THIS GUY IS GOLD
That guy is the coolest dude ever !!
"something very special for you" (takes out unlabelled vial of liquid) "hold it in the mouth, keep it there, keep it there, keep it there" I'm honestly scared for Sophie.
Dudes a badass
God I don't like this guy but I can't help but to appreciate the way he taught her a new experience like that.
that guy is a legend, but wish the video was better quality and longer
What happens behind scenes after this one
Where have I seen this man?
One can never take Whisky to serious.
WOW it only took her 5 minute 41 seconds to "love this man". I need to follow what this guy does.
He kinda reminds me of Scotty from Star Trek :D
She's getting drunk at 8:30, nice breakfast there
Imagine at 4:15 when he gave from little bottel she washed glass from first pour 😶🤣
Did he borrow that jacket from Capt’n Crunch?
Im livi g i Dublin for 5 years now and haven't visited the museum
Ron Swanson approves.
The Rizz on this guy, so you think she went home with him that night 😂😂😂
I don't like Scotch, but he could convince me into liking it lol.
Funniest guy ever. Man, that is entertainment...
If he threw the 50,000$ scotch on the floor.... I'd cry!
this is why i love canada
you know - that's not a terrible idea. Mr. Peterson himself had his first glass when he was just a wee lad and look what he has brought to the world!
I thought I loved whiskey. There is much to learn apparently. Much to learn, and taste. Then again, he'd probably kill me for having Jameson as my go to.
" Not this size" So funny!
amazing personality.
God, that face when he said hello there, she looked like she was ready to pounce on him
...
Absolutely!
having a dalmore 12 right now
I should follow this guy around with a bucket.
Awesome 👍
Anyone know the name of the first one they tried?
Although you have asked this question over half a year ago, I hope you're still interested in the answer.
That Whisky would be "Whyte and Mackay".
Mr. Paterson, also dubbed "The Nose" is the Master Blender for that distillery.
+David Yudomsky Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for it.
