I dont know what it is about them, but im hooked for good. Probably my favorite band at that. Their sound, style, and what they write about is like the story of my life!

Hail to the King is the first metal album to go gold in like years. lol Avenged Sevenfold sells quite a bit more than ATR, so I highly doubt it. It would be pretty cool to see it go platinum though. I think the change will definitely take them further.

A War You Cannot Win For We Are Many and Overcome first introduced me to metalcore and have a very special place in my heart, and The Order of Things to me had the perfect combination of screaming and clean vocals. This song is a great example. And I think we can all agree that AWYCW wasn't really ATR's best effort. It wasn't a bad record in the slightest but the instrumentals and vocals weren't up to the quality of the other records in my opinion. But all of this is subjective so it really doesn't matter what i say to change another person's opinion.

I just can't get into it. I'm not one of those that's saying they aren't metal enough anymore, because they are. All That Remains are truly talented musicians. To me it's just boring. I bought the album because I have all of ATR's records, So I picked it up from the store, got in my car and instantly put it on. After a few songs in I felt myself wanting to put a different record on. Not because I thought it was bad, because it has some awesome riffs and other parts, but It didn't grab my attention, and if it did, it didn't keep it long. It's awesome to see a band not give in to people who call them shit and create what they want to create. Its a solid album, and like this song shows, there is plenty of heaviness left from ATR, I just can't get into it. Maybe if I listen to it more it'll grow on me, but right now I just can't get into it.
I initially only liked one or two songs from here, but then the rest of them started growing on me. I'm sure you've experienced that with other bands, so give this album some time. Also, the second half of the album is a lot better than the first, so you may be getting bored of it before getting to the good stuff. Plus my favorite song on this album is the last one, Criticism and Self-Realization, and I think it ends the album perfectly. If I were to make a mix of my favorite ATR songs it would rely heavily on The Fall of Ideals and This Darkened Heart, but this album is pretty good in a different way.
Temper temper was really bad, for me. Anyways, there are a few songs that I like from this album. This Probably Won't End Well, Bite My Tongue, A Reason for me to Fight and Criticism and Self Realization. Those songs are awesome, and I have to agree with you when you say that they're still awesome but some songs are just "boring".
