Its nice to see that someone understands the importance of the elbow initially in securing the technique. Nice job and the hip movement step is a nice approach, one can also keep the hand close to their chest to walk with the person.
Hi, for a beginner like me, you're vidéo are really helpful. So thank you very mich for your clear explainations especially in this video, the one on nikkyo and the basic ukemi roll. Do you think it would be possible to post a video on the foot movement for a given technique. It's one of the best things for me to work on when not in the dojo and practicing alone. For example how to move my feet when doing katate dori irimi nage. Thanks again for your work. Cheers, Teddy.
Thanks! It's always the best thing for me to hear that the videos are helpful to someone. I will put your request about foot movements to the list and see what I can do. Wish you the best of training
Hello again Teddy! It's been out for a week now, but I saw your request again only now, here is the newest tutorial for Aikido steps: th-cam.com/video/lbgtIH7ZhTs/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for your tutorials. Your explanation of details make things clear. In fact it is two different yhings when you watch how to do some technic and when you try to do it yourself. Your explanation is helpful. Could you please also make a video tutorial about koshi nage and the correct ukemi for uke especially whith a tall nage? Thank you in advance!
As said in the previous comment, there is a video for that already: bit.ly/2cVVMIw . But I'll also look into making a special tutorial just for Koshi Nage high fall
Hello Mark and thanks. Yes, we actually made a few of them: 7 Bokken Suburi - th-cam.com/video/9DbxHpUzwsA/w-d-xo.html 20 Jo Suburi - th-cam.com/video/wiWfKHuaXhY/w-d-xo.html Some free movement practice with Jo - th-cam.com/video/BeKEYPFW_bg/w-d-xo.html And Sword Disarming - th-cam.com/video/FOGI6_jdBH0/w-d-xo.html I will be releasing a couple of knife disarming videos soon too. Actually my father was a MP during the 50's-60's and used the Sankyo and found it very effective on moving people. He showed me a few techniques he used on people, but never called them by a particular name. It wasn't until I got involved with Aikido and was able to put names to the techniques he showed me. He was not trained in Aikido, so I can only assume he was taught a form of Judo or jiu-jitsu that incorporated locks. They also taught boxing.
I'm sure it must work under the good conditions, but I have yet to see someone in actual combat pinning the opponent with a ikkyo or nikkyo, and use a sankyo against someone that is not cooperative..
@@xl000 theres more than one way to apply sankyo and i think steven segals version is more what your looking for . grab the fingers palm up apply pressure. me and my brothers have been doing that to each other for 30 years if you saw my fingers youd instantly be able to tell , they look like i tried to take them off with vice grips lmao . now in the heat of the moment im pretty sure sankyos not going to happen . wont need it. they wont be fighting anymore for 6 weeks at least cause a good hiji lol and that arms toast . and thats one of the serious ways to end a fight . just run away so you dont get sued lol.
Hello Jack, it would actually be my pleasure to do a q&a. I think that I will announce open questions this Friday so that people could ask what they are interested in for a week or two and then I'll make a full video of answering these questions. Would you like to ask something already?
I've practiced Aikikai (Hombu Style) for about 4 years, than the rest of the time I've attained basics of Iwama Ryu with some variations. I haven't practiced Yoshinkan style myself. It always seemed for me to be a more Kata based and also a bit rough style. But haven't tried it, I can't really say
Thank you for your opinion Sensei! I just wanted know several of Sankyo style. because when I training of Aikikai and Yoshinkan It makes me some strange situation. I thought, actually why they tried this skills? So I didn't choose my Aikido style not yet. I also visited Hombu dojo for learn basic skills. Would you mind sometimes can I ask curious of Aikido skills?
its better to learn how to defend yourself 1st , then learn how to dance is how i belive the saying goes. you want good uke's that dont just dive on the mat but let you get a feel for it . really in the dojo your aikido may look super awesome like mine lmao , but on the streets in a real altercation , your aikido isnt going to look pretty , but by the time you get to blue belt you should realize even a sloppy kotegieshi on a untrained person and their arms wasted possibly for good , same with shihonage , get sloppy and thier elbow wont ever be the same again . dont forget to run , lawsuits are no laughing matter.
aikido actually when performed properly is very effective. its YOUR aikido usually doesnt work in a real fight situation, one can only be as good as the time he has in honing his skills . get serious and practice like you mean it .

Thank you
Fantastic explanations, just what we need..the finer detail at a speed we can follow. Thank you.
simple and clear explanation, thank you.
Sankyo is one of my favorite locks, thanks for this one! Well done!
Thanks!
Good explanation of Sankyo. Thank you Sensei.

Excellent style
I studied Aiki jujitsu,..the sensei didn’t approve of going under the arm, as you had to turn your back to the opponent.

You can do elbow out if you get uke off balance first. It actually makes for a stronger lock.
gotta take the balance , its what its all about lol
Did you conduct any online course for Aikido
I've made a free 4 hour course here: th-cam.com/video/uhPu6iNV7jE/w-d-xo.html
And a special course for Ukemi here: www.udemy.com/course/100-aikido-ukemi-build-up-beginners-level/

Ask as many questions as you are inspired to ask! Though I'll need you to repeat the last one. Maybe you can rephrase it?

Is the guy with the camera drunk?
Talk too much
Sensei bend the knee when You do Sankyo, uke didn't felt a thing even if it was a explanation, that is why Aikido has a bad reputation
No disrespect but Aikido usually does not work in a real fight situation.aka bullshit
I know. Check my channel, it's all about that
Anyone who begins with 'no disrespect' knows that they are about to be disrespectful.

Hi,
Do you plan on uploading whole sessions / timelapses?
I think many of us would be interested in seeing how it looks like. :)
Hi,
I am very interested in your suggestion, but I just want to be sure what you mean. Could you tell more? Or show an example video?
Thanks for the example. I'll look into it
rokus can you apply sankyo & nikyo in your bjj rolls?
