      @@peachion2 Very nice. So I assume you' re an expert on wages and employee compensation in the area in question ? It is simple logic that for any business, generally known to pay minimum wage, and tips, when government imposes and mandates a higher level of compensation, businesses have no choice to contain their expenses, but pay their people for less scheduled hours, resulting in unhappy and less motivated workers, poor customer service, and eventual closedowns due to lack of business.

    • @peachion2
      @peachion2 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Johnny Zeee No, I am not an expert, but I have 40 years of business experience. Including a few years of owning a small business in San Francisco that did quite well. Your “simple” logic makes assumptions on what a business must do and how that will impact the business overall.
      Business relies on customers. Those customers are also employees. When their income increases, they spend that income, business overall grows. Your assumption is that wage is the only motivator. It isn’t. A smart, growing company can give their employees a piece of the pie. A little sweat equity can accomplish a lot, look at Starbucks. Another company that has achieved success through corporate. Culture is Trader Joe’s. Those employees are dedicated and provide unparalleled customer service. The truth is that many restaurants manage to be highly successful. And do not rely on minimum wage workers.
      A business that cannot survive if it pays a living wage deserves to go out of business. And they do. Yet we still have businesses, including new businesses that are great success stories.

Pelosi is doing her job, if the senate would do their job a lot would improve.

I gave it a shot and left when I realized it wasn’t my place for me. I’d say that’s a wise thing to do. To take a solid chance on something and let it go when I realized it wasn’t beneficial to my wellbeing. You, my friend, have much learning to do. Also, I grew up in Texas with conservative Christian parents but I left those views in Texas because I don’t care for them. I think those are the truly regressive views. “Make America Great Again” is probably the easiest way to tell people you’re regressive. That you want to regress to the past. To the way things were. When black folks were slaves and discriminated against. When gay and trans people couldn’t marry and were killed by bigots. When people get locked up for years for cooking pot brownies. Nothing was great about those times. I want to see our country progress. To become a place where everyone gets along and can do what they please within reason. Texas didn’t want that. To me, it’s an authoritarian shithole and they can do whatever they want with it but if it’s not going to progress, I want to live somewhere that will. G’day, sir!

      Did I mention that Newsom passed a law that homeless can legally defecate anywhere but a law abiding, tax paying individual who doesn't pick up their dogs feces can be ticketed. Also there is no charge for someone who breaks into your car and steals. Only to the victim if they try to defend or stop them!
      I hope the big one hits and drops that slice of crsp right into the abyss!!

      Well, when you gut people's income, and the big "job creation" is minimum-wage and no benefits so that people have to work 2 and 3 jobs, and give huge tax breaks to corporations and millionaires/billionaires (a billion is 1,000 million, in case you didn't know), eating out at a real restaurant, as opposed to McDonald's, becomes a luxury only relatively few can afford. You don't spend a lot of time thinking, do you.
